If the issues aren’t addressed, just keep allowing an issue to exist on a “premium” product… HD only changes after enough people say enough. I get cost savings, but to have the audio system sound worse than the previous, while using the same speakers as the GT.. Believe this attention is Exactly what’s needed for Rockford and HD to not make that mistake again, but we shall see.
@TRC_WA You know “stage 2” speakers just reference the fairing and “stage 3” the saddlebags. Not like it’s a better grade the higher the “stage”, just the number/location of speakers. I’d always go aftermarket when it comes to audio, motor work if warranty isn’t an issue. Aftermarket offers way better performance for a lower cost.

Glad to see something posted about audio! I had a 2019 SGS, and had audio issues through my HD-branded Sena when listening to music (sounded like both speakers were blown). Disconnected from the bike and connected the headset to the my phone and it sounded crystal clear. Fast forward to my new 2024 SG, and have the same issue using the new Cardo setup. One other issue I'm having is when I go over a pretty good bump, I lose all functionality of CarPlay. I have to stop the bike, unplug the phone, reconnect and it starts back up just fine. Wondering if it has to do with the new SG tray setup and how it allows the phone to bang around more?
Hey would love to know more as a Cardo ambassador also… I had this on an iPod in my 16 SGS I wrapped it in a small towel to cushion it. Might try wrapping in washcloth or microfiber towel in tray and see if it fixes it… not that is a good solution but am curious to see if it helps or not, if not then probably not the tray…
Volunteer Audio’s 9 watt dyno was on the standard bike, the CVO had 75 watts per.. At this point, we shouldn’t expect suck on on “new” 2024 bike. Those 9 watts are feeding the same speakers used from the last decade.
The audio on my 24 roadglide is absolutely terrible. I have a klockwerks on my bike, which helps significantly, but i can't really hear it if im going over 65mph. With the stock windsheild, I couldn't hear it above 45mph. I'm an audio guy and wasn't expecting anything incredible, but it was very disappointing.
I took a new road glide out soon after the engine management light came on then the stereo locked into someone’s head set so stereo would not play so I never got to hear on return to dealer the whole system shut down I was advised it needed an update so looks like same gremlins and electronics as pan American I’ll be keeping my st Buyer beware I say
Got my 24 Street Glide delivered Saturday, Sunday no sound from speakers... updated at dealership today...it's new , I expect it.
Stage 2 speakers and Amp... sounds good, it's not a Caddy.
The taller Harley Davidson windshield on my CVO road glide helped with hearing the audio at Highway speech. I also adjusted my equalizer on the custom map according to volunteer audio and that also helped. I would like to upgrade to their hertz speakers but being under warranty, I’m going to leave it as it.
Why worry about a warranty on junk? They won't void your warranty for a speaker upgrade except for the speakers.
@@guysmiley8473 I have owned enough Harley-Davidsons and dealt with enough dealerships to know that if the amplifier went out they would blame it on the speakers! They lost a major lawsuit last year over similar tactics and I have seen nothing change
My old 2002 Fatboy ain’t got any audio issues…and I love its simplicity.
The system on my cvo is all i need i can hear it just fine at 80+
Cars, motorcycles, electronics, etc., you should expect glitches when they first hit the market. It’s just the way it is. It comes with the territory of having the latest and greatest to hit the market.

R&D should be able to remove the mistakes made over the last 20-30 years. Hard to develop Chinese electronics or make decent sound out of less power on the same inadequate speakers.
For me Mike, it doesn't matter.
I ride to get away from the noise of the day. The last thing I want is music blaring in my ears, I just want to listen to the rumble of the engine/pipes and the wind rushing by.
And believe me, as a musician and music lover, there's nothing I enjoy more than a good rocker.
But the bike ride is a Zen moment in solitude.
I rarely turn on the stereo on my Ultra or Tri-Glide.
I think if your spending that kind of money that shit should be figured out before they put the bike on the floor to sell.
Not surprised that you need a radio on a Harley touring model overthere on those boring straight roads.
My old 2010 E-glide came without a radio and I never missed it riding European roads.
Very few straight roads here in the Ozarks excepts when taking the interstate, I am lucky where I live has great riding.
I'm glad I don't need all that junk on my bikes.
I ride with a fullface helmet and i can't hear my audio over 80mph on my cvo st. I don’t think its the fault of the audio, its my helmet. Its working as it should reducing wind noise, but also reducing the sound of my audio. My audio is 125db at its highest setting. I really dont want anything louder than that. I think you'll only be satisfied either riding with a half helmet or at slower speeds. Otherwise you're upgrading your audio to decibles that are damaging your hearing in the long run.
I ride with a RF-1400 (known for being quite), riding a 124 w/o a cat in the exhaust(known for not being quite) I can hear my 2 Hertz 6.5 running highway speed. They are ran off of the Soundstream SI head unit, no amp. It’s a quality of components and clean watts issue.
Not trying to argue but most of the Soundstream SI units I have seen advertised have an Amplifier Built-in. I hear great things about the Hertz, I may consider them in the future but with 5 years of flawless service from sinister sound I am pretty happy still. How long you been running the Hertz?
@@RidingintheOzarks I’m all for everyone being happy with their setup. If you’re happy, cool. It’s those buying the stages that think they’re happy, until they actually hear a good system, that cost less, then they regret that purchase. As far as the built in amp, almost all radios have a built in amp. Sony, RF (GTS clone), GT, GTS… this new HD screen has a “200 watt” external amplifier ( the one that dyno’d 9 watts per channel at the speaker.
@@freebehindbars8654 correct on the amp but not everyone realizes it so wanted to point it out and the new unit doesn’t , I’m not sure I like that aspect but it is what it is and Based on fact it has no amp it implies the factory amp is more the issue then the head unit. We know the factory speakers are the same…

I have a new 2024 Road Glide, updated the IFCU myself, and before and after I had no issues with sound. I did notice sound was lower volume on bluetooth than through Carplay. Now I prefer and normally only use my helmet speakers for audio because I like the clarity and second because I don't want to be that tool that people look at and wonder, what is his problem. The speakers are fine in general but again, I see no purpose in blasting my music to others.
I do have to laugh out loud at your comment for not using helmet speakers, sorry at highway speed no amount of money spent it worth it given the road and tire noise that will overlay any sound coming from your speakers. Plus again, you get to be that tool who people look at and wonder, what is wrong with you. I see no difference between riders with obnoxious pipes or stupidly loud music playing - they are not the center of the universe but they certainly are the biggest jerk in the area or in the running for number one.
Me... I am that Jerk. Not that I blast it for others but at Highway speeds mine sounds much better than any helmet speakers I have tried... not that I do it for attention but for years I rode without a helmet and still do at times so to have good audio when rolling 90 across South Dakota you have to spend $ if your not wearing a helmet. Each to his own.
Aftermarket people figure it out soon enough 👍👍

Can’t make people happy,every new system whether its cars planes boats has some kinks that need to be worked out.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that the audio systems on Harleys are great they have never been great because some folks don’t care about audio and for those that do there are aftermarket systems I never expect Harley to change
I won’t think about a new bike until they make the Standard again. Real bikers don’t need no radio with hippy hop💀

Yes, I can barely hear it. It’s pretty much useless over 50.
The new models don’t interest me at all , to be totally honest I like the twin cam you are riding now maybe up to the 2022 models also
Anything over 50 and the radio/ music should be off and you paying attention to the road at 70mph✌️
And for some people music helps them concentrate, it calms there mind, also more crashes occur under 40 mph than over it...

Because it doesn't make sense to you, doesn't make it wrong. For my wife it calms her, keeps her from over thinking things which leads to being more distracted. My kid likes to have music or podcast playing when she does homework, she gets great grades so I let her do what works for her.
@RidingintheOzarks your point is very dull at best, what's the first thing people do when driving or riding when things get sketchy or busy? They turn the radio down, 👍 everyone listens to music to relax, that's obvious. But not the case with high speeds or busy roads, aside from you can't hear💩at 75 to 80mph✌️
