    It's a great bike. I own one, and yes the riding position is not for everyone. Just to clarify things for a few people that have been posting....the Street Rod is made in the USA if you purchase in North America, if you live anywhere else, it is made in India. The engine is very different than the Street 750. It has more than just high lift cams, it also has 12:1 heads over 11:1 for the street, different combustion chambers, dual 42mm throttle body vs a single 38mm from the street and a 9000rpm redline vs 8000rpm for the standard street 750. It is VERY conservatively rated at 69hp vs 53 for the standard street 750. A few friends of mine that work at Harley say the street rod is in actual fact more like 75hp, but they keep the numbers on paper down so they don't get too close to their 107ci machines. Add a slip on exhaust, Screamin Eagle Stage one parts plus a ECM tune, and you scratching at 95hp easily and sucking the headlight out of a Breakout 114!!!Have fun and ride safe!

    • @nobodyspecial313
      @nobodyspecial313 4 роки тому +1

      You are just making up numbers! A Street Rod on the dyno makes 64HP to the wheels (ua-cam.com/video/LGpptLbTumU/v-deo.html), which is right in line with the factory rating. Motorcycle dot com did a back to back test where they put the Screamin Eagle exhaust, air filter, and stage 1 tune on a Street 750 - it picked up 0.5 HP! Unless you like the looks, I wouldn't waste money on the HD accessory catalog. You'd be lucky to get 75HP at the crank after mods. Claiming 95HP is delusional.

    Excellent review! Far better than any of the other reviews of this bike. Most of the other reviewers putt-putt around and whine about the hot exhaust, the turn signals, the foot pegs, the sound, that it's not a "real" Harley, blah, blah, etc. You just got aboard and RODE the bike! You showed what the bike is capable of, what it's meant to do and you had a blast doing it. Thank you for taking us along for a thrilling ride.

    Dear Mr. Motonewb,
    I've been looking for a bike for about 2 months now. What a journey! At this point, I've had my fill of dealers that either ignore me, 'cause I'm a girl, or don't listen to what type of riding I want the bike for & try to sell me what they think I should buy; instead of what fits my height, build, riding style & which bike 'speaks' to me. The 'metric' dealers here in America, seem to be stricly volume franchises, without consideration for building a relationship with the customer...[They'll sell you whatever they can finance for you].
    The Harley dealers seem to be more welcoming of female riders in terms of hospitality, as I walk through the doors. But when it comes down to helping me find a good match, they mostly want me to buy the bike they think I should, rather than the one that looks, rides & fits the best for me. It certainly can be bloody frustrating at times. However, I mostly shop after 'putting my big girl panties on', so they haven't sold me something I'd regret.
    I went on a test ride of the Yamaha XSR900 today with a wonderful guy at a 'metric' dealership, where the owner has a Harley store also. Im very optimistic that this 'best of both worlds' will be the combination of motorcycles that I ultimately can find the bike for me in. After I had a wonderful ride on the XSR900 & I told him that I was also smitten with the HD Roadster. He offered to collaborate with his counterpart @ their Harley store to allow me to try the Yamaha against whichever Harley I want...and after a few words of advice from him about air-cooled engines in stop&go traffic, I'm going to ask for a XSR900 vs StreetRod shootout!
    Thanks for reviewing the StreetRod so everyone can see how much it has to offer!

      Hi, just wondering which bike you ended up buying. I've had the street rod for a year now and love it more and more each time I ride it. I agree with you about the dealers not being concerned if a bike 'fits' you. They're just as bad here in Australia.

    Brilliant! I am a native of Colorado, USA. I purchased my 750 Street Rod to navigate the ultra-high altitude passes and ghost-towns. The intercooler prevents overheating in grid-lock traffic and the exhaust system does not disrupt the wandering nature or cause a spark to cause a wildfire in a National Park. When I go off road, the turning circumference is tight on switch backs and if I have to literally pick up the back of the bike to pivot, it's only 500+-lbs. I have four (4) sets of wheel/tire configurations for this bike, depending on what I want to do.

    It sounds like this was probably the Street that H-D should've started with. The Street Rod, the Roadster, and the S models makes it appear that Harley is taking performance more seriously now. I can't wait to see what's new for the 2018 models.
    As always, thank you for the uploads and keep those vlogs and reviews coming. RSMF

    Got one a month ago as my first bike above 500cc. Put a smile on my face whenever I am riding it. Only complain is the foot brake lever is oddly shaped. I need to adjust my right foot position everytime to ensure I am on the peg. Other than that... I am happy with this bike. Ordered V&H slip on exhaust and Fuel pak 3 from Amazon. Yet to receive the items yet. Can't wait for the upgrades.

    I am glad Harley made this bike. I’m a millennial, and this is the only bike I would buy from Harley. Turns out I did but one, and it sure is great. Definitely a little tight for taller riders though.

  • @darrenrobbins8356
    @darrenrobbins8356 5 років тому +1

    Yea I bought one in the green gold colour. I’ve put a Vance and Hines comp slip on and now it sounds like a real bike. The foot position still annoys me and my hips ache as my knees are too high. Other than that can’t fault the bike. For the weight it could do with another 20bhp and it takes some warming up especially in the winter. I commute every day to a city centre. It keeps up with my custom loving friends and has enough torque and speed to run at the front. I am going to look at converting it to a street tracker look next year. Will let you know how that goes!

    You always sound so enthusiastic! I’ll try this StreetRod as I’ve never seen one except in the HD showroom!
    My worry would be the mid-set foot-pegs as I’ve long legs and like forward controls. But it’s a very well specified bike & looks great.
    I reckon that these water-cooled lighter faster and agile Street models will eventually take over from the Sportster range. Already HD have developed the flat-tracker model based on the Street & not on a Sportster!
    Thanks for putting out such a good review.

    Good enthusiastic video, most are not so kind. It probably helps, that you own a sportsters, so this would I think feel like an inproved bike, but still a Harley. I have a trident 660but want a 2nd bike and it must be different! These bikes in the UK are a bargain right now, this video has encouraged me to pop down for a test ride, the olive green looks good. 👍Thanks.

    A tail tidy, a decent exhaust and may be an inch or two of lift on the front of the tank and this would be a really nice looking little bike. It's not for me, but if I was looking for my first bigger bike or first Harley I would definitely take a look this. RSM8.

    I love everything about the bike, if I was 5'11 or shorter. The bike really needs a higher seat option where you can sit a bit back as well. For this style bike 30.0 inches is somewhat low. The mid-controls with an 8 inch ground clearance really squash anyone 6 foot or over. Also the shift pedal is tight for someone with 10+ size feet. I may get this bike if I can get a custom flat seat that's higher put on it.

    I hit up a Harley Demo Ride here in Connecticut a few weekends ago. I took the Street Rod 750 for a spin and honeslty hated it. The right side brake foot controls are a nightmare. I had ridden the Street 750 last year at the same event and it was a much better ride without Harley's modifications to make it whatever the Street Rod 750 is supposed to be. I also took out the new Sportster Roadster and if your looking for something that is lighter, nimble and fun I recommend the Roadster over the Street Rod 750.

    Go ahead and, just slip that muffler off. And throw it away. An it will sound awesome. Try it..

    If harley wants to make a sport and super sport I think they should really take the time 2 do so.

    It's a 'street bike' yet runs hot, has poor ergo's and bar-end mirrors?
    So it's uncomfortable, hot and to wide to split lane's. Are they smoking crack at HD R&D?
