Nice vid Pete!!! Thanks
Hey Knees Howdy brother 🤘🎸🤠
Great sounding pedals!
The Evermore pedal is a beautiful reverb. High quality
They all sound fantastic for the (affordable) price point!!! Looking foreward to trying them out!!!
Wow! Sweet Sounds & Sweet Telecaster Pete 😉👍
Pete Thorn is the man
1176 sounds really nice. Yeah, I want.
Perfect demo for me. After seeing the compressor on Andertons channel I wondered what it would sound like going into the Dream and here it is. I'm in.
My only complaint with these UA pedals is that the power input is crammed in between the input/output. Can be a problem if you have pedal cables with large heads.
Very nice pedals. Tape delay was terrific.
Great!
I play bass; a lot with various bands live. Most of my bandmates and myself are semi-pro’s: we try to do mostly what the bigger guys and galls are doing in the big bands. That’s hard! We don’t get multi tracks or mikes or DI’s: just one mostly. Pedals are an issue in our case.
For bassists like myself, the ‘blend knob’ doesn’t cut it!!
I wish many, many more pedals -that are designed to use with bassguitar too- would have a ‘dry volume’ knob instead of a blend knob, because with a blend the effect sound is always way more louder than the dry sound (perhaps because it’s more like a dry through).
I play a few custom built pedals with both an effects volume and a dry volume, so I can blend them any way I like. When using some specific effects, bassists need not only a blend, but actually a variable boost option for their dry sound too, to get a better mix.
Because, when playing live, we almost never get an option to use two DI’s, like the big guys and galls do...
We only get to use one DI. So, we need to mix the ‘wet and dry’ ourselves. Blend knobs usually won’t do the job...
That’s a big thing! Pedal company’s don’t get that..., 🥺.
Hi Pete, how does the compressor compare to the Cali76 from Origin effects?
if they dont have priblems in a hot effects loop they could be a hit at that price.
Thanks Pete
Hi, are you going to do a demo of the new Marshall pedal from UA?
Well Pete I’m gratified to hear you’ve
“geared” towards simple set-ups..
I’ve been screaming this from the rooftops for 2 years.,
I even went all out and bought the heaviest of hitter’s of today’s channel switcher’s,
The answer was simple
(no pun, actually yeah PUN it!)
-you want the killer ingriedient’s at your fingers, no switching out the cream..
-now you’re ready write songs again!!
Technology, Super AI can’t touch my favorite component of any musician
I’ve ever heard…SINCERITY.
(Until “it” reads enough of my findings in the comment sections of their platforms!!,
LTFOL man!!!!
It never ends!!💯
It’s funny, because I’m often using relatively complex set ups. But really I long for simplicity.
I wish he used the reverb and delay more into the compressor like all the pedals at once 😂but I understand it was an individual demo of each separate
I was interested in the 1176, but sort of surprised to see it was digital. I've never used a digital pedal before the amp, only effects/modulation. Should I be concerned about clipping going into this thing, since the level may be affecting the A/D conversion like an audio interface or is that not how it works? And should I be worried about adding a few of these pedals and introducing multiple A/D conversions into my pedalboard?
They can take a ton of gain without clipping. I've stacked overdrives into the 1176 and it behaves exactly like you'd expect it to.
@@robmcgaughey1938 Thanks for your anecdote Rob. Would you say its not desirable to clip into a digital pedal like it is with an analog overdrive for instance? Edit: just realized you are the actual UA dude, thanks so much for responding to these videos.
@@progpogs on my board right now I have a JHS Muffuletta > JHS Red Ruby > Way Huge Red Llama > Way Huge Conspiracy Theory > UA 1176 > UA Orion > UA Dream ‘65 > UA Heavenly > UA Evermore. All the UA pedals are digital and everything else is analog but you’d never know the UA pedals are digital as you can stack the analog pedals with tons of gain into them and they sound and behave like analog, they break up like analog. Driving gain into the Dream sounds just like pedals into an old Fender Deluxe Reverb which I also have. Don’t think of them as digital, treat them like analog and you’ll love them.
@@TimbralResearchThanks for your anecdote that is useful
Wow that 1176 is awesome! I use a Cali76 Stacked currently but I’ll be buying one of these.
Awesome sounds Pete. How did you run the pedals in this video? We’re you running in front of the Apollo with an Amp plugin?
We were using the dream pedal on the little board- it’s Universal audio ‘s deluxe reverb simulator. And then recording right into logic.
@@PeteThorn Thanks for the info! The pedal(s) sounded amazing. Might have to try these with me Friedman BE50 DLX
So would you put a boost pedal before or after the compressor and .... would you even really need one if the middle or sustain settings are in use...?
If you want more squish, before. If you want to actually boost volume, after
ehm ... yeah, my xmass present this pedal will be! the 1176
GREAT COMPRESSOR...LOVE THE SQUISH! ... IT BREATHES! -- I JUST BOUGHT ONE FROM SWEETWATER! THANKS FOR THE DEMO PETE!
The Compressor was real Tight and really the King of the show with These pedals but nice price range and The Echo Plex tipe also likeed very much 🤘👍🎸🤠
All sound awesome! The 1176 pedal sounds STELLAR! Yet, I still prefer to have the simplistic security of strictly analog dirt pedal circuits. That was fun, thanks Pete!
Thought Pete was going to bust into Oasis - Slideaway for a moment there
sounds great! UA are already known for good pedals
I kinda wish the Plate pedal was a stereo output. But I'm a weirdo.
That’s the gotcha to get you to upgrade.
Making me want to spend my wages on gear rather than food. Beans on Toast for me. Cheers Pete.
Need a new compressor... the 1776 may be a contender. :0)
The market is saturated, how many times can the same basic FX be reinvented? What can't be replicated endlessly is the Mojo Mr Thorn adds to the mix. That's the real news here.
Did anyone else think he was sitting with James May? Lol
On bass guitar, why not
UAFX been killing it lately!
I already have the Dream and Ruby.
Want the Max Compressor and DelMar
--
Maybe the Galaxy. (Have a Belle Epoch, Boonar and Halo already)
Do I really NEED another Echo? 😏
It’s a bit awkward seeing Pete at the angle he’s in turning around to talk to the guy. Love the content and your playing as always and am only trying to offer constructive feedback.
Sometimes, when you shoot a video like this, it’s so on the fly, and you realize maybe it could’ve been laid out better… believe me, I know what you mean, but I still run into situations like that all the time. it’s actually harder than you think, setting up the camera, making sure the audio is not clipping, wondering if the lighting is going to be OK.. two different cameras… Is the guitar in tune? Is my hair dumb? Haha but seriously! That’s what it’s like when you’re doing everything yourself, and sometimes you only have like 20 or 30 minutes to shoot something. It’s pretty rare that later on I’m like that was perfect. usually I’m like well that could’ve been better, cold have been like this and this and this but I will just try and do my best and edit it to be acceptable…
@@PeteThorn It’s a lot to think of for a one-man show and completely understand your situation. You work hard and do a great job with all you have to manage. If I didn’t have a background in video production I probably wouldn’t have noticed. You’re a great role model in the guitar community and wish you all the success you’ve earned. Nothing but peace, love, and positive vibes!
Would’ve made more sense having the guy operate the pedals. And less awkward to watch. That compressor sounds good
keeps turing output up... I can't take it..
It’s 2023, at least 1 preset please shouldn’t have been to much trouble on a digital pedal.
first look at the screen shot,I thought that was Pete’s mother behind him!! sorry guy!!
Their dream 65, ruby, and Woodrow were the worst pedals I’ve ever owned. Biggest waste of cash I ever spent on gear. I don’t think UA will ever be on my list again. Crappy options terrible design…sounds like anything else.
I think the dream sounded great in this video and the ruby, I made a video where I played we will rock you and it sounded absolutely spot dead nuts on. 🤷🏻♂️
@@PeteThorn I just played a set with Ruby and Dream in stereo and it was absolute fire🔥
Name a better sounding amp in a pedal... I don't know what your idea of "good tone" is but from what I've heard so far, they sound great to me, maybe you expect it to do something it's not made for? Or you don't know how to use it? Cause they sound pretty good in every video I've seen...
