Nice idea. I might use it to create an enrichment area for snakes to play outside their crates. I'd worry that python could pull the cinder block over on himself.
He will love that! My bredli literally shed perfectly in 20% humidity and then get in their humid hides after they shed. Their natural habitat is harsh and semi-arid. These tents are meant to cover plants outside and still let sunlight through so you can hand lights above it.
Hey man, I’m a new viewer and I’m wanting to possibly get either a ribbon snake or maybe a garter snake, I have just fell in love with the look of them and I’ve never really heard anything bad from them. Would you recommend me possibly getting one? If so where?
Interesting set up for a Bredli. He will have plenty of room to groove. I personally love cat trees and bed trays for snakes! I’m wondering if you could include a small cat tree in there? One major drawback with a mesh set up is losing wall space, but I’m looking forward to an update on this to see what else you added or took away! 👍🏼
Probably could. The only thing I don’t like about cat trees is I hate to clean carpet when they go on it and it would be cheaper just to build a stand if I were to strip it off. A big reason why I decided to imitate this approach was A. A much more knowledgeable Bredli keeper in similar conditions has kept them at least for awhile this way and B. Neither of mine do much cruising in the 4 foot setups they had/have so I thought additional platforms and perches would likely be better suited for them, but we’ll see

This is an amazing idea! Definitely worth a try!

Garters are pretty awesome and have fallen out of fashion lately but they’re still around and morph market
I got inspired to try this for one of my snakes. 🤔🙂
What is that plastic part at the bottom?
It’s literally one side is plastic but I put a dog kennel tray in there to better hold substrate and longevity
