I knew you guys would love this one. Everyone always mentions Download 2009 as their best performance, but to me this one here (Big Day Out 2005) is it. When Corey hits the “1 2 3” and they all start head banging in perfect sync, you can’t top that. Just an amazing concert. Always appreciate the love and your interaction with your supporters. Keep running strong.

This was the peak of Slipknot's live shows for me. That whole Vol 3 tour, they were on fire.
I would agree but I think Corey’s vocals around this time are far from his best
a lot of people (especially new slipknot fans) didn't like this era of slipknot because Coreys vocals got mest up here but I think it just makes him sound more RAW and I love it
For me, the best Corey sound was in AHIG live shows too
Fun fact.... this album Vol. 3 was slipknots 3rd album on Roadrunner records. Someone from the record label or a critic said slipknot couldn't be a hit without swearing. So corey wrote the lyrics to the album and didn't swear not once on this whole album as a FU to said critic. Amazing

When I bought this album the day it came out, I took it back an hour later because I thought I’d accidentally bought the clean version lol

not really, London version was a lot better, camera angles with this one kinda suck.
Vol. 3 masks where always my favorite.
Everytime I see Paul I’m like “fuck yes this is Slipknot”. This combo of hair/mask for Corey was awesome.

Joey was also in a band called The Murderdolls. Y'all should check them out on the channel sometime. They were awesome as well. Some of their songs are, Grave Robbing USA, Dead in Hollywood, Slit My Wrist, 197666, People Hate Me, Welcome to the Strange, Chapel of Blood, Nowhere, Summertime Suicide to name a few. And they also do a Bowie cover, White Wedding.
They did a song from Murderdolls already. I am sure they want to listen to more.

I saw them live 3 times between 2002 and 2006. 1 gig (double headline with slayer), 1 festival, and 1 secret gig after a signing in london. Every time was epic
I’ve been lucky enough to see Slipknot 9 times between 2005-2023. This is personally my favourite era of theirs, and favourite masks! ❤️
My favorite Slipknot song! in the 9.0 Live version, Ozzy comes on stage and tells the crowd that Slipknot will not be preforming. After the crowd goes nuts for a few seconds, this song kicks in. 😁

Saw them in 2004 when they opened for Metallica in Gothenburg and the drum break in The blister exists....damn, can still remember the vibrations in my chest.
One awesome thing I've learned while watching you two for awhile is that I'm actually a huge fan of Slipknot. I never really thought about it or considered myself to be even a casual fan until recently. All my friends would blast Slipknot 24/7 so I guess I just never had the need to go look for the music myself. That's usually a huge sign for me early on that I'll be a huge fan of someone/a band. But I didn't have to do that with Slipknot so I suppose it just never sunk in how much I do in fact love this band. They really do put on the most badass live shows🤘🏼🤌🏼🔥

Slipknot sort of bridged the gap between the Nu Metal genre and the New Wave of American Heavy Metal movement.
Weekly request for SP Lit by Chimaira. They started off as Nu Metal but transitioned to NWOAHM after their first album. I think partially because of Slipknot

I will say until the day I die I wish I was born 10-15 years before I was because I never got to see Joey (who is my favourite drummer and probably musician ever) and early days of Slipknot and when metal was at its peak. Even other genres I enjoy such as rap and country (yes my music tastes are all over the place 😂) I enjoy more from the 90s and 2000s. I wish I could’ve gone to shows like this

Guys, can we can get some different bands for Nu Metal Monday? I just feel we are in the same loop of Korn, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Linkin Park, SOAD and maybe a Coal Chamber or Soulfly sprinkled in. Check out Spineshank, Reveille, Nothingface, Factory 81, The Deadlights, No One, Skrape just to name a few. There is such a deeper hole with this genre.

08:41 Plz tell me your not talking about Corey's mask, coz that's literally one of his most iconic masks, the one in DUALITY music video, Before I forget (he wasnt using it in Before I Forget but the camera was doing some close in it) the mask in the The Blister Exists music video (people even talked in the comments saying that's their fav mask or one of his best masks) the Vol.3 mask, or the duality mask, the Leatherface mask like some people say, and yes this live is from 2005, 19 years ago, quite some time ago, time when the band WAS Slipknot with all the members, coz now the band is DYING, No more Paul, Joey, Craig, Jay, Chris

Slipknot pretty much stopped being Nu-Metal after the first album - bar the odd little thing here and there.
You cannot put them in the same genre as Limp Bizkit, they're so different.

Truth be told… Slipknot was Joey and Paul Gray, without those two there is no Slipknot. Paul was very involved in writing if I am not mistaken, so yes Joey is essential but Paul was more essential IMO #RIP Paul & Joey 🌹🌹🌹
Yes! I wish more credit was given to Paul. Tired of seeing so many videos only saying RIP to Joey. As much as I love Joey, Paul deserves just as much love and credit. But all I ever see is talk about Corey, Clown and Joey
