The TV show "River Monsters" did an episode on this species of catfish. Very interesting.
Another TV show ended up catching three of them, but unlike most shows they did not release it. Instead they used them to feed an entire South American village because in that particular culture, with the scarcity of food, there is no such thing as "catch & release". Fed something like 50-55 people. Was double interesting because it showed the cleaning and preparation of the food.

Top water fishing is just awesome. Couple of weeks ago I bought my first two or three lures for it, didn't catch something yet, but I'm hooked 😊 had one attack from a decent pike but he missed it, never felt so much adrenaline while fishing. 👍
Its so much fun! I fished a few times this year and caught some nice largemouth on those googan squad revolver lures.

@@Harz02 These are Wels Catfish; a European species that can grow to well over 200lbs. You'd be lucky to catch an Eel Tailed Catfish over 5lbs.

This means that we must be witnesses of Jesus. Witnesses are those who see with their own eyes and heads, we don't see when the Lord Jesus died and rose again, how do we want to be witnesses of Jesus?
By receiving the Holy Spirit, because we receive the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit who witnesses all things.

When we receive the Holy Spirit we will speak in tongues.

Everything requires faith, without faith it is impossible. Faith comes by hearing the word of Christ.

Next largest catfish was known as the Mekong catfish. Caught on the Mekong delta River region somewhere around Thailand Laos or Cambodia area at a village weighing 680 pounds. When they got it to the surface the fish died from its own weight in extremely shallow Waters

many years ago my parents caught one of that size in the 90's up in canada by niagra falls (giant pirate ship by the highway for those who know) theres a river/pond area that they fished in all night long and when they got onto it, they said it took about 4 hours to reel it in. Dont remember the weight but they said they cut it up and gave it to around 10+ people in sections.

the legendary Wels catfish showing why it's considered an apex predator.. and they do get much larger. sadly they were introduced in many places where they're non-native and they devastate native species. tremendous sport but something of an eco-quandary.

Don't know if a u-boat float tube would be up for land such an absolute monster of a catfish that was that behemoth. There is absolutely nothing more enjoyable when it comes to fishing then being out on a lake in a float tube at dusk as the fish start rising to snatch up bugs from the surface with my fly pole in hand and the right dry fly on the line. It's truly art in motion watching, waiting to see that water rise as a fish comes up and catching it requires perfect timing. Im no poet so I can't put it into perfect words, but it's just beautiful, absolutely fantastic...

What species? It could the Wels catfish (Silurus glanis). Since he's speaking French, this footage could be taken somewhere in France, which is part of their native distribution.
