I Found Dolphins in a Sewer!

- In today’s video, I find dolphins living in a sewer, along with a ton of other rare fish! After discovering axolotls living in this sewer in a recent video, I decided to go back to see what else I could find! So I started netting around and I caught TONS of rare fish including exotic catfish, knife fish, Oscar’s, cichlids, giant gourami, albino plecos, and MORE! I kept netting in the sewer, and I ended up discovering something CRAZY! I found what looked like an alligator skull, meaning we could encounter one… But we kept going and I ended up finding an extremely rare tiger salamander! However, the water became too murky in the 1st sewer so we decided to explore the second one! Immediately we caught a ton of big fish including a clown knife fish, big cichlids, and a MONSTER snakehead! We also found more rare fish including datnoids, colorful crawfish, lungfish, and even a freshwater dolphin! I then placed my 2 fish traps in the sewer, and left them overnight to hopefully catch something crazy! When it was finally time to check the traps, we found pufferfish, big catfish, African cichlids, rare alien fish, and more dolphins! We brought everything back to my house and put them into my backyard ponds and aquariums! Should we go back for a part 3?

I can’t believe all the mysterious fish we caught! Should we go back and do a part 3?
Yes
Yassss
Yes
Its about time. You took to much time off lol 😂
Yes you should also! I’ve learned so much for you I would love for you to do a part two 👌🏻😊
The brown striped catfish was a big bumblebee catfish, the silver diamond-shaped fish are called monodactylus, or monos, and the dolphin fish is indeed called an african or freshwater dolphin fish, native to the great african lakes, they are predatory and electric, grow around 60 cm, and are relatives of the black ghost knifefish & elephant fish
Thanks so much for this answer,I was surfing threw comments especially to find out what all the species of fish were.
Also known as a minni dolphin fish it's actually called Mormyrus kannume fish (elephant-snout fish)
Be vary careful they are sensitive to iron and will die if the level get to high

Freshwater Dolphin Fish is a rare fish in the trade and nearly impossible to properly ID. As part of the Mormyridae fish family, these fish are not actual “dolphins” but fish that resemble them, hence the name. They are fairly blind and rely on their electrical pulse to navigate; they can and will bump into objects (especially if you rearrange your decorations) so it is important to choose decorations that do not have any sharp edges.

Hard to believe all those varieties of fish were in that little sewer
Yeah i think we need a bit more exposition abt the sewer first bc all those fish are pretty suspicious
Same
I'd be willing to bet this guy is dumping fish in the sewer for content. The biggest red flag for me was when he said "We caught axolotls in here". Axolotls are practically extinct in the wild minus one or two lakes in Mexico. So they were 1000% dumped there. Can't say for sure that he's the one who dumped them but its awfully suspicious. Basically any video you see online of people "catching axolotls in the wild" is bullshit because they're critically endangered in the wild. (Although we have a strong captive population) and people do it constantly for content. It's inhumane and quite frankly I'm not even sure they could survive in that water long.
Not to mention all the other fish in there that would never be found in the same place and don't even req the same conditions. Many of these fish are warm water species. There's no chance that water is warm

Tiger Salamanders eat worms, snails, insects, and slugs
Salamanders prefer dampened sphagnum moss or a mulch-like substrate, like coconut husk fiber or cypress mulch. You should create a moisture gradient by keeping the substrate on one side of the enclosure moist while the substrate on the other side is drier.

Mystery fish at 3:20 is not an eel. This is a Prehistoric Dragon Goby. They do best in brackish water setups. These are some of my favorites!
For those who see this comment and don't know what brackish water means it means a salt and fresh water mixture.
My husband and I have two saltwater tanks and we have a yellow watchman goby and he is one of my favorite fish. Well he and my valentini puffer fish . so much personality and sass and they're soo tiny. I'm about to cycle another tank so I can get two gobies or dragonets (maybe a mandarin since we have so many isopods and copepods in our refugiums) and maybe get the gobies some pistol shrimp. Maybe. I also want another dwarf puffer and need to research on if they would be compatible with puffers. there is just so many awesome fish and little creatures

Tiger salamanders are super common and can be found pretty much everywhere I use to catch them in my window well and sell them to kids around my neighborhood. You should also get a bubbler or aerator for the fish

Mormyrus is a genus of ray-finned fish in the family Mormyridae. They are weakly electric, enabling them to navigate, to find their prey, and to communicate with other electric fish.[1]

That that was caught around 20:15, it is literally referred to as a dolphin fish. It's a freshwater dolphin fish. Compared to other fishes, it is highly intelligent and will even play with toys! I first learned about it on Plant Earth!
Makes sense
I didn't think they were electric though, I will have to check it out
No way!!!
Yeah, I Google lens-ed a screenshot of this fish from your video and found it! So cool that it's actually referred to as a "fresh water dolphin". It's scientific name is mormyrus kannume, apparently. Very cool find! I hope you have time to train them to do tricks or at least get them toys to play with. Here's a video of one playing with hoops in this UA-camrs tank...
ua-cam.com/video/UBiA7SnHA_g/v-deo.htmlsi=06fJH3ZrBdsBu6SZ
Also looked up the bit about the shocking you referred to... This is from an article I found, "The freshwater dolphinfish uses small electrical pulses to find food and defend itself."
Very cool find!
I believe it is a mormyrus rune which is in fact an electric fish
The fin flat fish is an angle love you vid
The Freshwater Dolphin Fish (Mormyrus Longirostris) is known for being intelligent, inquisitive, and outgoing, and keepers report the fish will play with toys and learn tricks. Due to its electrical pulsations, it can give a mild shock when caught.
Woah that's awesome!!!!
Wikipedia said This species grows to a maximum length of 75 centimetres (30 in) and can weigh up to 10 kilograms (22 lb).
And they're from Africa!!!! primarily feeds on weeds and insects, but also on small vertebrates, such as small fish and fish eggs. They hunt using electricity and can give a mild electric shock to defend itself.
This was worth the wait!!!!
The fish you found at the 1:21 mark is a Ageneiosus magoi. Back many years ago (like 40), my mentor Ginny Eckstein had a tank full that all turned out to be males. They were not known at the time. If memory serves me correctly, the males develop an appendage to help "clasp" onto the females. Completely odd to see a fish like that in a sewer. Hmm.

Ain’t it’s weird how many different species of fish in that drain 🧐
Dude, its sus to me also..
I used to fish hunt in drains like this in Florida depending on the spot, we would find similar fish. A lot of the fish were dumped and just learned to live wherever or were hardy fish. He I think lives farther south than I do and down there is known for people releasing captive bred animals/fish, and nature just does it’s own thing with wild fish.
There is no way there are that many diffrent types of fish in a sewer like that, not with so many of them being fish that require clear water to survive with the sewer being in parameters that would kill them from ammonia and phosphate poisoning. this guy there for is buying them from a store, and throwing them there to make these vids, this is both misleading, scamming and animal abuse all at the same time.
@lonewolfclan1073 I think your right you know.
@@lonewolfclan1073in fairness, it is a real (and well known problem) that there are a ton of captive bred fish in the wild in south Florida.
