I was talking about how when mega dungeons and harder content comes out building cooldown is equivalent to building damage, as over a 1 minute span the build with more dps and no cooldown modules will net more damage, but once you get into 2+ minutes, the person building a little less damage but a lot more cooldown will be doing significantly more damage, which is why freyna dot build is the best freyna build, I also was calculating for duration being a damage increase too, as for characters with dot when it comes to min maxing builds you want to try to get as close to a whole number as possible, for example if you are playing freyna and your poison dot is at 9.9 duration, getting a 0.1 second increase to that will increase your damge by 10%. I really like the delving into the skill power and when skill power modifier is better and i was wondering, what is the specific number where skill power modifier is better than skill power? general rule is around 100%, but since all reactors have exact same base skill power, if we make an equation going based off base skill power from reactor 11724, along with the values of specialist modules being the same too, could we possibly come up with a universal % where skill power officially beats skill power modifier?
I build Kyle around his 3rd. Max Shields on gear, max CDR and skill range on mods. So you end up in 1.5s or 2s spamming the double tap of your 3rd for instant aoe bursts with knockdowns to stop enemies attacking your mates Ults Modifier is already high enough so in my eyes no need for crit or crit dmg. with non attribute or dimension focus you gain enough dmg for it
I finish building Blair and I am excited to build Kyle myself. Probably not going to go crit but that was definitely neat to see that 20 mil hit for sure. Consistent 10-15 mil hits on fireball Blair are fun but there is no doubt who has the highest potential dmg. I ended up building skill modifier ratio for Blair's stove/burn ratios instead of big fireball. Also with the backdraft module giving some nice gun boosts I am happy I picked one of the most balanced offensive character in the game. Now to try out some Kyle diving bombing.
It would probably be more beneficial to max out Skill Insight instead of Emergency Measures. The blue crit mods are typically best, so Skill Concentration should probably be here too, but I understand wanting to prioritize crit rate since his 4 skill is just one big hit
I’m playing cooldown kyle, It does a lot more damage than crit does. You can reach cooldown cap (90%) with multitalented. 1.5sec on magnetic spurt is insane. Combined with secret garden you never run out of resource, you actually GAIN it by using your skills. Also having ult on 13seconds is just amazing.
Yeah CDR build seems the way to go and you do just as much damage as this with less work. Magnetic spurts only good for mobbing though, better to swap it for that one that gives more DPS on boss down and when the boss isn't looking at you
The only sad part about the CD build is loosing multitalented for Shield Collector once we finally get it since there’s no way to make up that 20% loss atm
I found that the attack cards where a waste when making my build as well. I like how you test out the cards so in depth. Interesting how ambush works. I did not find even with the 200% crit bonus any crit was even worth it on Kyle. Its great when you get the orange numbers and makes for a great videos but I like to use those extra slots to make Kyle even more of a bull dozer. I have Shield collector in my build. It makes him a whole nother beast! Multitalented is good too.
Blue crit mods should always be used before purple ones. Purples give a total of 92.3% crit and crit dmg with their split stats, while blues give 115.4% to each stat individually. The same goes for crit mods on guns as well.
I agree with play what you like the most, and I've been enjoying your videos quite a bit so far, which is why I wanted to ask, if your building for damage why is your skill cooldown only at 31%? MP conversion has no down side for Kyle, Nimble Fingers is an easy choice, between the two you get something like 68% CD, add 2 focus on mods you can reach 74%, and if you use Multitalented you can spam the magnetism force ability as it IS a dimension skill for a bonus 20% making your CD total go up to around 94% CD. Far as I can tell, while that is a fat stack of mods, it should out weigh critical damage over a longer sample size as if you look at a say 300 second window, the crit damage would be a lot less in that time period. This matters for more than Kyle's ultimate, which is fun to play with on a passive 15 second cooldown, but the Magnetic Care passive to restore your shields and magnetic force can be gained once every 77 seconds instead of 200. Multitalented drags the cooldown on the passive down even further, naturally, so survivability goes up a LOT due to the passive, and damage goes up a LOT thanks to the ultimate all from specifically building cooldown on Kyle. In the video you mentioned critical hits were the only space you could go to for more damage on Kyle, I just thought I'd offer Cooldown as a relatively massive consideration for more damage, as I think your cooldown was about 40 on the ultimate, I could do 2 of them in that time which would be much more consistent damage than relying on a 11% crit chance + 2.5-ish crit damage multiplier. I would in a 45 second window, be able to do a third. Now I am ignoring travel time and ascending time on the ultimate for that projection of damage, but I would assume it would bring the overall damage window for 3 ults to about 50 seconds for me to perform 3, where as the build presented would perform 1 and be partially cooled down towards it's next one. In terms of single hit up front big numbers, I get the crit was your only option for that, but I didn't hear that said, I heard 'only option for more damage' which makes me think what I presented above may have been missed in your search for more cruise missile gameplay uptime. Keep making great vids man!
Nice, I am just waiting for some one to explain the math of Ajax's reflect damage as it is explained as DEF×skill power. Also agree on the chase what is fun idea. Working on Executor right now for that reason.
Aznvasion has a very nice damage calculator for skills, he also has it not the exact, the closest formula the game uses for skill damage computation. It was something like (((skill power x skill power bonus "the reactor bonus") x skill power modifier) x skill power % ratio). He's got the actual explanation for how this works, I don't remember the exact formula, sorry, but I have used it and it's what I used to min-max my Bunny, Sharen, Viessa, and Jayber builds.
Blair is the character with the most abusive stats in the game for the big chonk damage. He can reach 100% crit rate EASILY with his passive (i personaly roll with 9x%) Truly Deadly Cuisine gives him a 6k% Skill Power Modifier skill. Also can reach a 7s Cooldown on it.
I will say, as a kyle main, that throwing in a ton of cdr into his kit makes him feel WAY better to play. you can get your ult down to a 15 second cooldown and essentially spam it. This with shoulder charge being on such a low cooldown that you can literally spam it makes you borderline invincible while maintaining extremely high ult damage
@@ryechew the thing is, is you can really do both. If you drop the crit, which as you said is pretty pathetic scaling for Kyle you can hit like a truck with very high cdr
@@NOLIMITZ00 Yep. -73% coll down reduction and Multitalanted mod make Magnetism Spurt 1.5 sec cool down, so it become spamable as hell. So Kyle have AOE spam ability whit 1.5 sec coll down and croud control effect. Godlike for mobbing and farming.
I use mine with around 75% cdr + multitalanted and as much shields and skill power I can. Farming secret garden now, the idea is to have max magnetic force when ult cool down resets.
Id like to add that these tests appear to be done with Level 1 enemies. Also shield amount does not change the damage... Its bugged or doesn't work as described.
the damage was impressive, but you forgot about cooldown, which is huge for kyle. Magnetic care, spurt, and the ult all need reduced cooldown or your a sitting duck.
The argument for Blair is that you are going to actually be critting most of the time, but yeh this os definitely hitting harder than Blair ever could.
I went with focus on non attribute and focus on tech even though its a modifier on tech one , its cooldown is so worth it - id rather have a ult every 12s or less than one big one but i get the feeling haha still hitting 4/5 ults a minute is hilarious
You're telling me you have leveled Kyle up to 40, 7 times and put catalysts on those slots. While playing other characters and doing the same? How much money are y'all spending and how tf you leveling so fast??
Been trying Yujin and been mostly playing an aoe build with Proliferating Allergy that does 445k against weak enemies. Unfortunately because the skill only detonates on enemy death or after 5s it's not worth it for colossi, so the heal build is preferred against Colossi. It seems like with Duty and Sacrifice he can heal like 10k hp of each player every 10 seconds or so without a long animation.
@@DestroyerArcher Thanks for reply, I was more interesting in his support role, i saw his skills heal and buff skill damage so i thought about supporting my carry friend when we duo colosus. But i'll see how much Luna will support.
@@FreeKillx02 Note that the buff from his non aug 4 is a self buff apparently. Although his 2 does make enemies take more damage. Just tried him in matchmade Molten Fortress with duty and sacrifice (augment for his 4th skill) and it was really easy keeping people alive, although we didn't clear. Passionate Sponsor makes him do decent dps too with guns in a group, since every player being healed gives him up to +75% (I'm assuming additive?) damage and skill power.
@@FreeKillx02 If you want a support that boosts team DPS I highly recommend picking up Enzo. The only downside is that his meta augment, Supply Firearm Enhancer, requires opening ultra vaults with enzo, but it is incredibly powerful as it boosts base weapon crit chance by 29%, letting even 1% crit guns consistently crit with crit chance mods (unless their magazine is very small like Guardian R4).
Kyle main here, thank you for this, it really helped me to understand why I wasnt doing that much more damage when stacking the skill rate modifier. A question I have though, for his spurt ability would modifier be better there? AND do you think there is a better set for kyle than slayer?
I'd be curious about Ajax's Void Charge mod. It has some interesting mechanics that potentially adds flat DEF to the skill damage. The modifier for which is affected by the Skill Power Modifier mods. I wanna see what would happen if someone with 150k+ DEF were to build around that.
As a Kyle main recently converted about a week ago (From Freyna) I've got to say, you're obviously better at numbers than I, but wouldn't it make more sense to build for Cooldown and def/shield (Since, while shields do indeed suck, Kyle basically gets 1.8 shields worth per charge of his passive? I have my Experienced Technician recharge down to just under 60 seconds, and under 50 depending on if the Multitalented is up when the shield gets broken and the recharge timer kicks in. Magnetism Spurt gets down to 1.8 seconds with Multitalented and can just be spammed 3 at a time, and on the 4th it'll proc Multitalented again for an endless loop. Would not building his def/shield for survivability and working on the DPS from the weapon and spurt not be the better path? 300 seconds on ET to under 60 is huge while still pushing over 60k defense, just over 5700 shield and just under 19k skill power. I know there's lots of ways to build a descendant, but how reliable really is that crit chance vs the cooldown of thrusters? I don't do the math on those things. Thats why I subbed to you, my man! Love the work! You've made me put some much more effort into my dang descendants than I ever thought I actually would. lol

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Give him a rod and teach him to fish and he eats for the rest of his life... This video gives you the rod and I appreciate that
Wouldnt it be slightly better to just use skill insight and cconcentration instead of using front lines and emergency measures? FL+EM is like 92% skill crit hit/damage and while insight and concentration is 115% crit hit/damage
sorry, but this explanation of the skill power modifier and boost ratio didn't clarify anything for me. I think I am more confused after watching the video than I did before. Going through an example fully would make it much better.
Did you try Non-Attribute Master? Its a purple mod that gives 44.4% Skill Power and 19% Non-attribute Skill Power at max level. For me those Master Mods actually did more dmg then the "Focus on" or "Specialist" mods which are all part of the Battle group.
Do the set component buffs. 2 matching 4 matching. Apply a stack per each component. Ie 8% buff x4 or is it just the given amount shown when matching 2 or 4.

Great video as always! I wish I was better at math to do my own calculations though.. would it be possible to address damage over time in the future?. On behalf of every Freyna main it’d be greatly appreciated!
Whilst those crits feel nice and all, the problem with kyle and crit is that he scales so horribly with crit that it just isn't worth it. Better to go CD and skill power for a cruise missile build and if you crit with the base crit great, but don't want to invest too much into it and rely on it.
11,5% Crit Rate for an ability on 41 sec CD, that you will rarely see proc during the boss fight. While you could instead throw in and max your CDR, that would actually and consistently improve your DPS exponentially.

@@Twizzler300 The video is named "How to build a character : KYLE". And this is just impractical glass cannon built around something the character can't properly scale.
Definitely an argument for that. Also for not even running crit.
One Tipp All the submodules in the game are malachite slot, if you enchance it you get 5 exra points to use. Cool video!
Magnetic spurts only good for mobbing though, better to swap it for that one that gives more DPS on boss down and when the boss isn't looking at you
This was a "how to hit like a truck" guide tho. You aren't dive bombing for 20 million.
That’s how I play Sharen. 15 sec ults is crazy.
Max is 207.7 for both crit rate and crit damage.
Great video like always!
Yeah it doesn't really say how much % of your defense either
Just got my perforator started crafting, excited to get it built.
He can reach 100% crit rate EASILY with his passive (i personaly roll with 9x%)
Truly Deadly Cuisine gives him a 6k% Skill Power Modifier skill.
It's better to hit 3 times then do 3 times the amount of damage sometimes
@@ryechew the thing is, is you can really do both. If you drop the crit, which as you said is pretty pathetic scaling for Kyle you can hit like a truck with very high cdr
@@jexhi444honestly the crit Isn’t even worth it. I have my thrust down to 11 seconds hitting for 3-4 mil.
Its bugged or doesn't work as described.
kyle is literally a walmart void thundercrash titan lol
Why void?
@@StrongArmEntertainmentVoid titan has magnetism grenades iirc and his abilities are colored purple.
Ajax has the titan barrier and ward of dawn.
Finally someone that takes advantage of the 10k skill power, good job
the damage was impressive, but you forgot about cooldown, which is huge for kyle. Magnetic care, spurt, and the ult all need reduced cooldown or your a sitting duck.
Thats correct way to play - FUN, thanks for video
Honestly I'd still recommend the blue crit mods for a slightly higher crit ratio but definitely agree on the non attribute mod choices
I need too see him make Ajax OP
The argument for Blair is that you are going to actually be critting most of the time, but yeh this os definitely hitting harder than Blair ever could.
It looks like your enemy that you did the Max damage on was level 1 and not level 100. Level 100 enemies take probably 5 mil damage
What about the components from the obstructor that gives shield 11%
You can get 5 more max capacity by putting a catalyst in the melee slot (as far as I've seen they're all malachite)
There is a harder way to explain the math😮 ..i don't math but when I do it's here with rychew
I came to say Enzo next! Stick with the Shield bros! Lol. Thanks for tue information video.
Ok so that’s cool and all but let’s see it again a boss. Can it compete with ult lepic
When I first started , thought I wanted to play Valby. I ended up a Kyle main 😂😂😂
bro so smart, this is my first time playing a game like this. mid maxing, grinding, all that jazz. somehow i feel even more lost than I did before XD
I’m literally farming up Enzo entirely to unlock Kyle. I like his tank style
Would Love to see the Math and your opinion on a bunny! Keep up your great work!
I went with focus on non attribute and focus on tech even though its a modifier on tech one , its cooldown is so worth it - id rather have a ult every 12s or less than one big one but i get the feeling haha still hitting 4/5 ults a minute is hilarious
OOoooooo as a Kyle main, I gotta see this!
You're telling me you have leveled Kyle up to 40, 7 times and put catalysts on those slots. While playing other characters and doing the same? How much money are y'all spending and how tf you leveling so fast??
Underdogs getting love, love to see it. Hope for others like Esiemo and Yujin.
@@DestroyerArcher hmm I see so I guess he is mainly for heals then. Ima await Luna for damage buffing then, thanks for info!
@@FreeKillx02 If you want a support that boosts team DPS I highly recommend picking up Enzo. The only downside is that his meta augment, Supply Firearm Enhancer, requires opening ultra vaults with enzo, but it is incredibly powerful as it boosts base weapon crit chance by 29%, letting even 1% crit guns consistently crit with crit chance mods (unless their magazine is very small like Guardian R4).
you can put a catalyst on your sub module slot and itll give you +5 total capacity
Love this kind of video, would be dope with a Perforator build as well
Kyle main here, thank you for this, it really helped me to understand why I wasnt doing that much more damage when stacking the skill rate modifier.
You've made me put some much more effort into my dang descendants than I ever thought I actually would. lol
Did you ever play Cyberpunk 2077? I am very curious to what their online Cyberpunk game will be like, but I think the first game has the ingredients to become a looter shooter like this.
Thanks man!… I’ve been playing Kyle as main and this is just so so helpful! Great content.
Would love to see your math on Yujin. Healer build incoming?
After i fully built this and watched this video Several times and watch your twitch live stream and compare your executioner / devourer damage with my damage , I realized what it 's but whatever , hope they fix laboratory also let us see monster level in laboratory even after we changed race or resummoned it
fantastic video, thank you for the general build advice as well!
Same as Warframe math. Looks complicated, but really is very simple once you get it.
you make me feel like im back in school!
youre the best
No.... you da best
My build is not too far off. I trade out the crit chance and damage for optimizing cooldown, so that I am ulting every ~11 seconds.
How does that work on boss fights?
I'll be stupid, but after this I know Kung Fu. Thank you Sensei
sorry, but this explanation of the skill power modifier and boost ratio didn't clarify anything for me. I think I am more confused after watching the video than I did before. Going through an example fully would make it much better.
I indeed do like the way you make content! subbed and will be back for more!
Cant wait for the ambush video
I Maine kayl and the issue that needs to be fixed is that u can't use his ult if there's a roof or ship above u and the stagger from landing a hit with your ult cuz it's dum that if I hit a boss with my ult I'm stuck under his feet for few seconds
very cool. I ran in to you while you were leveling kyle. I hope to see more of these and I look forward to your video on Dangerous Ambush.
anyone know how lethal finish mod works? I cannot seem to understand it.
genially curious, why not run both focus on tech and focus on non attribute for the dive bomb ??
Great video as always! I wish I was better at math to do my own calculations though.. would it be possible to address damage over time in the future?. On behalf of every Freyna main it’d be greatly appreciated!
Please make one for Freyna. I've basically been using her as a discount gley, but have trouble with energy economy.
Whilst those crits feel nice and all, the problem with kyle and crit is that he scales so horribly with crit that it just isn't worth it. Better to go CD and skill power for a cruise missile build and if you crit with the base crit great, but don't want to invest too much into it and rely on it.
Can we see your build for the Perforator? Also, does it scale with your shields at all?
Btw, you are better of with a 275 processor, than the 206 from Bravery set, even with the 11,9%. I did the math :)
11,5% Crit Rate for an ability on 41 sec CD, that you will rarely see proc during the boss fight. While you could instead throw in and max your CDR, that would actually and consistently improve your DPS exponentially.
Bud. He's making him crit for the biggest number. This isn't "how to run missions". This was "how to hit like a truck" I guess you missed the 900k bashes..
@@Twizzler300 The video is named "How to build a character : KYLE". And this is just impractical glass cannon built around something the character can't properly scale. I feel bad for people that will try to replicate it, but will face a reality check during actual gameplay.
Also those numbers are into 1 lvl Laboratory enemy. Which is missleading and far from real numbers. 100lvl enemies have a very different resistance and would show a very different numbers.
@TheDarkMortyr the contents of the video is "how to make him hit like a truck." Obviously the title makes people click. Simply put. Kyle can hit well over 20 million dives. He just throwing stuff together and making him crit a divebomb.
If you can slot it (costs 2 more total) you should use mp conversion instead of nimble fingers.
I use both. Having my 1 and 3 always up is huge for my playstyle.
@@Harkonis Yep I use both too, pop up 3 and spam 1 for facetanking and I never take damage inside dead bride's dome too lol
Fantastic video, Hi i'm new to the game, is there a way to make a build to solo all the bosses with Kyle?
Can you make a Freyna video? I keep getting conflicting information on what mods to use for her because she is DOT. Love the videos, breaking down the numbers is amazing.
Upgrade your modifiers, toxic skill damage, and duration - cooldown. She requires a solid gun to do the work
So like i like the build hes just not tanky with hp
Thx for the vid dad , whats the music you playing?
