  • It is race day at the 2023 Riverland Dinghy Derby in Renmark, South Australia and we could not have asked for better weather. Low winds and blue skies means this is going to be a cracker! Andrew and Tahlia steer their 3.15m tinny with a 30hp Yamaha around the creeks of Renmark to secure a 2nd place in the 30hp Standard class. Huge thank you to our sponsor Laser Electrical Renmark!

Home sweet Home People dont get what we say, when we say we going off the beaten track, have done it although wasnt racing others, the operator of the tinnie Doc knew his river better than his backyard going through liggies in the water it appeared to me that the trees come jumping out at ya but captain of the boat he had done it plenty so I felt safe & confident now,I can wipe that off the bucket list & I was more of a spectator in the boat rather than a swinger glad I had been both riding & pillion passenger on plenty motorbikes it surely helped. She did awesome Job in this working together & it showed.Well done for highlighting more of what the Riverland has to offer,Bravo that was some great racing great day for it,it was At that, well done & thanks for the ride!.Ooroo! If people like to go a little slower take in the sunsets on the red cliffs & take in all the Mighty Murray has to offer,May I suggest the houseboat option.👍

We do most of our own prop work but because we’re in a standard class, we can’t use a hydraulic trim. We have to set our pin height and run with that. Normally run 5th pin so the prop is a fair bit out of the water 💦 😅

@@BarelyStandardRacing Surfacing props are a different design to submersed props, it sounds like you need a Cleaver style. Cupping the edges is a backyard trick that I used to do for people on the tow ball of my truck but you have nothing to lose by talking to a prop guy. Race hard & stay safe Mate!😎

Is the 2nd person really improving overall speed, given you are only working with 30HP?
