I had a N 14 in my 99 Star Car, 500/1800 w/15spd. At 500K had an upgrade pan gasket put on so I told them to pull a main and rod cap off and look at the bearing. Manager came back and said he would give me a 500K warranty on the engine for 1K. I did and sold the truck later when I got sick, the man who bought it put another million on it and we never cracked it. Good engine, never did have good oil pressure.
Old Petey sounded like she was hitting warp factor 9 in high speed filming. A old time trucker who drove in the 70’s n 80’s. Told me when his was running rough to clean out the injectors. He ran it down to 1/4 maybe a little more. Bought 2-3 quarts of transmission fluid poured that in and filled up with diesel. Blew pitch black smoke, but it cleaned those injectors.

That cold start reminded me of 1971. First morning in a home. The neighbor had a 63 freightliner with a v6 or v8 Detroit right outside the kitchen door. Cold start was the low air buzzer followed by the thunder of the detroit.. mom hit the floor. Then she realized what it was she got up and said. I thought it was a bomb going off. It was still the cold war. We did nuclear war drills in the hallways at school. Ahh the good old days.
My brother's N14 actually sheared the accessory drive shaft off. I've heard that it's common for those shafts to have problems. And that loader would've had you loaded in 2 scoops if he didn't shake his bucket off.

We always replaced the balancer if 1 broke the acc drive shaft
