    Battery operated tools are great for what they are made for light to medium equipment. Air tools has been the standard for many years, I think it will take a few more years for the battery tech to catch up. It reminds me of the day I had to buy new cassette tapes to replace my 8-tracks. 😕

    Hey Jeff , love your channel and the rebuild of older equipment and watching you guys work. Being a younger guy (38) , I grew up running some D3B's, D4, D5K & D5k2 ...always wanted to run something bigger but I invested my money into a Peterbilt and cattle wagon and never looked back...ha I taught myself to fix everything on our farm and things we didnt have , blew an entire piston out the D3B block and rebuilt it with a couple of extra hands and new block .... Sadly we dont have any of the dozers anymore and I sold my Pete and wagon due to a pending divorce ...Ive seen your frustration with the impacts and agree 100% on all matters with you , I came across this company and thought I'd share it with you, dont know if youve ever heard of them or if something like this could fit in your arsenal of tools but it might be worth a look....Hope you get to feeling better and if you ever need another operator and driver I'm willing to move and could use a job lmao😂 . Have a great week and God bless ...

      I put our cell phones and my few power tool batts in a 50cal ammo can with the lid gasket removed then put in the oven in the kitchen at night with a magnetic note over the electric oven control knob to be safe for backup containment till we wake up in the mornings, plus we hardly ever use the oven and the piece of mind really helps.
      Those insane batteries create their own oxygen so water isn’t the solution when they kick in to thermal rocket mode.
      Those batteries getting hot on your battery impact gun should be left well clear of anything flammable, cant imagine a impact gun that already pisses Mr Paydirt off going rocket mode on ya and taking out your service truck or worse

    Luckily I have Shop & Mobile compressed air, and I'M not afraid to use it. My 15 year old Chicago Pneumatic 3/4" Impact does most of the grunt work, and if that won't get it, then the Chinesium Horror Freight 1" Impact comes out to play. I bought a Milwaukee 1" Battery Impact a year or two ago when there was a sale on them, but I haven't been able to hit MY head on a hard enough surface to pay $200 plus dollars for a second battery. It's about useless without a second battery, unless you take LOTS of breaks waiting for the battery to recharge.

  • @maxsav007
    @maxsav007 Місяць тому +1

    Im not defending Ingersoll, because i know they havnt done right by you with the trigger, but it is a VERY good thing those batteries are tight like that. PITA it may be, but it takes A LOT to hold them in there while the gun is hammering . Milwaukee had problems with their 3/4 and 1" guns having the batteries loosen up or just falling off, which was a big problem for guys trying to do a whole semi trailer. Having to wrestle the thing off is way better than having to keep relatching it constantly. Milwaukee even tried a floting mount that shook with the impacts but the batteries still loosened up, not sure if they still use it.

    Since you have that Enerpac/OTC type high pressure pump system have you considered buying one of those hydraulic stall wrenches? It's a simple cylinder/ratchet mechanism and a reaction bar that can be used to apply a specific torque based on the pump pressure. Work well on those really big fasteners, they are too slow for small stuff.
