I think what we wear is important. For instance, well fitted clothes (the right size : not too tight or loose) look more flattering on a person.
I also think finding the colors that compliment your under tone makes a difference.
Honestly, its all about having some good stable clothes that you notice look good on you

i have had an ongoing problem with self harm since i was 2 (i had a horrific childhood - not going to get into that story but trying to set the stage for context). some things i do to make myself feel more attractive:
      1) self pampering - i do a facial mask, lately i've been soaking my feet in warm salt water and rubbing off excess skin, shaving/hair removal, makeup (usually i only wear bronzer. this week i started doing bronzer, brows, lips, eyeshadow).
      2) i find things to make myself laugh. if i can laugh, i'm less likely to hold on to anger/stress and i'm in a better position to handle situations or people that i come in contact with.
      3) temporary tattoos - there are so many fun designs and shiny metallics. the possibilities are endless. i ALWAYS get compliments when i put some on.
      4) i clean something - kitchen, car, closet, bedroom, bird cage, patio, bird cage. etc. i feel if my environment looks kept, it makes me feel kept/confident/ at peace on the inside.

This may sound weird...Before I got cancer fashion was very important to me. I was bedridden for 6 years. Wearing nice pajama’s and my panties “HAD” to coordinate! It was a must! It just made me feel so much better having nice pajamas and cute panties that coordinated.
I also always had some small earrings on and put my hair in a low bun. I was in and out of the hospital a lot. On stay was 96 days. The nurse’s all knew me by the pretty girl who had her nice pajama’s on vs the hospital gown. Wearing that gown just made me feel😒 depressed and sick. Still to this day I always wear nice pajamas and coordinating panties and small earrings when going to bed. When I get up I brush my hair in a low bun and I still feel pretty even if I stay like that all day. When I look in the mirror I don’t see a sick person😊

Those were all great tips! I would add this: hanging out with people who have a good consideration of us. I don't mean it in a needy way, as we needed someone's approval to be confident. I mean that if you are constantly around people who don't appreciate you it's very challenging to be confident, and spending a couple of hours from time to time with someone who recognises our value can be very much beneficial in my opinion.

One thing that always make me feel better is working out/doing yoga/just moving in general. When my body feels stretched and strong, I feel more capable of tackling tasks and have more confidence. I also find that this helps so much with good posture. It’s easier to hold yourself up high when your muscles are strong! 💪

Despite my love of makeup and how easily I can get sucked into thinking I always need to have a full face, it is from watching your videos that I’m trying to move away from that. You are so naturally beautiful inside and out, and you remind us that we can all be that way. You help remind me that I am enough and that I’m more than how “perfect” I look. I admire you so much ❤️ thank you for your wisdom.

you're the second youtuber/beauty guru to mention chipped nails. and i know neither person is meaning to be menacing, but there's so much more behind a chipped nail than meets the eye. some polishes are cheap and can chip same day. i've experienced this. sometimes a person is too busy to slow down for a moment to touch up.
some people experience bouts of depression, anxiety, or other variations of mental illness (or stress) and they paint their nails to make themselves feel better but when it chips, they dont have the capacity to care enough to take it off. (also me).
so instead of looking at a person's external appearance and judging them buy it, i do my best to see people through compassion and empathy, because that is what i want as a flawed person trying to live my best life.
Thanks for the video and the code Valeria :)

Texaslife43 that’s it, was looking for this comment.
I love coloring my nails by myself because I can’t stuck to one color for a long time, and it makes my mood better (my nail polishes are not the best). Especially when I’m struggling with mental problems that i can’t even motivate myself to live..
Thank you for sharing this comment.
It’s all about sharing opinions, so thank you for that.
That’s the only time I disagree with Valeria, I care about myself as much as I can, but sometimes it’s just hard to think about your nail polish when you have your problems and work to do.
all the love beautiful ladies ❤️

k_not today i'm glad sharing my experience/opinion/perspective helped you. i remember the first time i heard it, i felt taken aback. i was already struggling so much inside that it was just another added blow to hear the general population would judge me by something so minor and superficial. you do you babe! you're only responsible to do the best that you can for that moment. my best is not going to be the same as your best and that's totally ok.

This is so true! I have bipolar and I love painting my nails, and most times my nails are always painted well and my hands are well manicured but just recently I have a very deep bought of depression and I left chipped nail polish on for over a month! Every time I looked at my nails I felt even more depressed that I just didn’t have the energy to take care of it.
I do have to admit that it LOOKS like a person just doesn’t care or is trashy, but living my life with bipolar disorder, I know there’s so much more than meets the eye.

    Omg yes! Thank you!
I think this also applies to how we show ourselves online. Nowadays, many think that taking sexy/erotic photos and posting them online shows confidence. We can be gorgeous and show confidence without trying so hard.
