    I just realized something.
    If you remember, Jon Snow had a lot of delusions of the grandeur of the Night's Watch. He grew up hearing tales of their greatness, and thought being one of their members was the greatest honors. The person who probably did the most to convince him of this was Ned. Since Ned knew Jon's Lineage, he knew that as a Targaryen with a strong claim on the throne he'd never be allowed to live under his real name. However, once becoming a Night's watch member you forfeit all claims. Which is why the only known targaryen in westeros was master Aemon and no one tried to assassinate him.
    Ned probably wanted Jon to lose his claims so that he could reveal his lineage, to wipe the dishonor of having a bastard child from his name.

    • @temptationofmemories
      @temptationofmemories 6 років тому +22

      If Jon is the child from the Tower of Joy in the books, he already has/had a brother named Aegon, there's a character in the books right now claiming to be that very Aegon. There were three heads to the dragon in Westeros, Aegon, Rhaenys and Visenya. If you look at Rhaegar's children he had Rhaenys and Aegon already.

    • @jordilop15
      @jordilop15 6 років тому +27

      Yes, Jon being called Aegon in the show is really dumb. What parent gives 2 out of his 3 children the same name? If Jon is the son of Rheagar, maybe Lyanna died before naming him so Ned himself named the child, so his real name might very well be Jon.

      actually, Ned had a very different plan for Jon. Ned wanted Jon to build a castle in the New Gift and start a new cadet branch of House Stark.
      It's really easy to forget this, because it was only mentioned once in the entire series.
      Jon also calls this, Ned's Dream of Spring.

      @@Yehoshua66 thats the issue George has said several times before the cancellation that he is not involved with the show at all besides an advisory role which they're NOT required to listen. Also the story and characters were completely original and not based on anything George has wrote besides the premise itself, the first long night. The show was most likely garbage and i heard rumours that it was on the level of bad Disney Star Wars, The Rings of Power, Captain Marvel quality. We'll never know but the mystery will always keep people wondering. HBO likely saved everyone from a bad show but people will always assume the best from cancelled shows as if they've missed out.

    Dragon steel is different to Valerian steel because at the time of the Long Night the Valerians didn't exist. They came on the scene a few thousand years later. Also, why couldn't Bran use his powers to find Lightbringer, or the horn of Jormund, or learnthe secrets of forging Valerian steel? Benioff and Weiss would probably say "Bran kinda forgot about his greensight ability"

  • @wangtoriojackson4315
    @wangtoriojackson4315 8 років тому +27

    This is just a nitpick, but the note that pops up at 1:16 that says "Many have come to be believe Dragonsteel was another term for Valyrian Steel" would more accurately be stated as "Many have come to be believe Valyrian is another term for what was once known simply as Dragonsteel", as the period when the term Dragonsteel was allegedly in use would have predated the Valyrians by thousands of years. I've always viewed Valyrian Steel as basically a "brand name" of Dragonsteel.

    The Hound is the prophesied Azor Ahai, the Last Hero, the three-headed dragon and here are the proofs:
    - likes chicken, chicken body resembles similar to dragon body, a link with the Targaryen
    - resurrected without any help but weak but medically attended by Ian McShane
    - regarding the title "A song of ice and fire", he has been in companion with Arya Stark (Ice) and the mountain burned his face back when he was a kid (Fire)
    - he actually saw Lightbringer in the past being wielded by Barric Danderion during trial by combat

      Well for anyone interest. I actually did write a theory for why it is a possibility (that the Hound could end up clasping Lightbringer, and taking the Azor Ahai role) around 2 months ago when Episode 7 of Season 6 first aired. It got 200 upvotes on Reddit, but never really went that viral.

      2424Lars If you had read what I wrote, I said I believe there's a 40% chance it would be him and I gave my reasoning for it. Also I say I do not believe there will be ONE hero, there will be many heroes. But that the Hound will "CLASP" light-bringer. There's only one sword that can really be Lightbringer at this point in the story if those prophecies are to be believed and it's Oathkeeper. Anyway read my whole post, because I make a few interesting points, not just the ONE about Azor Ahai & who will "clasp" light-bringer.

    From the way things are going it's highly probable that The Last Hero, Azor Ahai and The Prince That Was Promised are separate prophecies of different individuals and not just one with different interpretations, which was a popular belief until last season.Jon -Ptwp, Dany- Azor Ahai and Bran - The Last Hero.

    • @blackflagsnroses6013
      @blackflagsnroses6013 8 років тому +9

      Keep in mind that legends and prophecies aren't literal but metaphors
      that represent truth. I doubt the reality of a magical flaming sword
      because it would feel rather useless against a horde of dead. How is a
      measly sword suppose to stop the Others? Valyrian steel and Dragonglass already are effective against Others. Jon has even speculated if this
      Lightbringer is not a Valyrian sword, perhaps the first made. Sword is
      used to mean weapon many times, which can be anything.
      Also the legend says Lightbringer came to be when Azor impaled his sword through his beloved Nissa Nissa. And it was her fiery soul that gave birth to
      the Sword of Heroes.
      So it gets you thinking if Lightbringer is a metaphor for a fiery soul, a beloved woman.
      I've said before Jon is the Promised Prince, and Daenerys is
      Lightbringer/Azor Ahai. Or her and her Dragons. I fear she may die in
      the War for the Dawn, a sacrifice but not by someone killing her to make
      a fiery sword. It would make more sense to actually impale a Dragon to
      make a magical fire sword. As they are fire made flesh and powerful
      magical creatures.
      In short, I think things will play out differently than prophecies suggest. The reality will be, well realer. We already have several heroes who are likely to lead humanity in the War for the Dawn, not just one savior, such as Jon and Daenerys.

      Essos was only affected by the Long Winter, the Others weren't in Essos.
      In Asshaii, there is mention of a hero wielding a red sword, fighting the darkness and leading virtuous people into battle to bring back the day. When that legend spread, different cultures took that legend and gives a different names to the hero. For the R'hllorist, they believes that the hero was a champion, Azor Ahai, sent by their god.
      Comparing the legend with Westeros we can see that the hero was in fact the Last Hero, wielding the dragonsteel blade, fighting the Others, leading the first men of the Night's Watch during the battle of the Dawn.
      So when people are referring to Azor Ahai and Lightbringer they are in fact talking about the Last Hero and his dragonsteel blade. (and Azor Ahai Reborn is about the Prince that was Promised).

      The tales of Essos are just another version of the original hero who ended the Long Night: the Last Hero.
      The Last Hero sought the help of the Children of the Forest but the true name of the Children are "those who sing the song of earth", the Singers and their magic can be referred as "song" therefore the hero who was looking for the many children of the Mother Rhoyne and their song is about the Last Hero looking for the Singers.
      Azor Ahai is also explicit, it's just the Last Hero who forged the dragonsteel blade with a blood sacrifice after his sword got destroyed against the OThers while he was looking for the Singers.

It takes one generation for the gravitational force of the sun to get the earth back to circulate it. Damn!

    I wanna see a spinoff show which occurs 100 years after game of thrones. New lands have been discovered. A new king is chosen but is more of a julius ceaser figure and like alexander the great wants to invade the lands of sothoryos. The free cities of essos, dothraki , six kingdoms of westeros, north all are battling for more power in new lands. With mentions to far east essos mainly asshai. Imagine a story where the king wants to bring back north and invade west. Perhaps a dictator figure with houses trying to bring him down. I would like a scene where a pirate or traveller goes to west of westeros and finds a stranded ship with a skeleton missing an arm which clearly belongs to arya stark.

    • @blackflagsnroses6013
      @blackflagsnroses6013 8 років тому

      ***** First the Long Night happened. Then some years into it a hero who in Northern legend is remembered as the Last Hero united with the Children of the Forest to end it in the Battle for the Dawn. Soon after the Others/White Walkers were driven North to the Lands of Always Winter, Brandon the Builder, founder of House Stark, with the help of the Children of the Forest built the Wall. He also built Winterfell and the Oldtown Citadel allegedly. The men who aided the Last Hero formed and established the Night's Watch to protect the realm of men. Those unfortunate people who were beyond became the Free Folk/Wildlings. After 13 generations, the 13th Lord Commander declared himself the King of the Night's Watch and served the Others, taking one of them or a Wight as his Queen. He ruled with cruelty and obscenity, until the King Beyond the Wall elected by the Free Folk and the current King of Winter/King in the North, a Stark, united their forces and deposed of the Night's King freeing the Night's Watch from his leadership. It's speculated the Night's King was indeed a relative of King Stark at the time, a brother, cousin, or even bastard half-brother. He may have been a descendant of Brandon Stark, but not his immediate son as his time was at least 13 generations after.

      Here lies the TRUE STORY why the Others/White Walkers brought the Long Night to Westeros while the known world also affected.
      The Night King and the rest of the White Walkers minds were enslaved by magic that the Children of the Forest cast on them as suitable weapons against the First Men during the war against them. After the war ended and the pact sealed between the Children and the First Men. The Others were put into a slumber in the Land of the Always Winter in frigid ice tombs until a time for them to be used again. But upon the coming Age of Heroes, the magic that enslaved the minds of the White Walkers and their king were weakened and soon broken. It was this forthcoming that the Night King finally regained his consciousness over a long a centuries being a puppet for the Children of the Forest. But his other kins have no conscience for they are long empty husk of their former self. They themselves can still follow the absolute order of their king. Only the Night King has intelligence that of a human but he can't never remember who he is from the time before he became what he is. Though he never forgets the ones that did this to him in the first place.
      The Long Night begins. Not a cataclysm that played as a cycle against the survival of the human race. But a ravenous revenge and vengeance that the Night King felt unto him towards the Children of the Forest. He only marched from the north of Westeros to the south as to find and massacred and bring extinction to his makers and puppeteers, the Children of the Forest. The First Men were only his way that resulted in collateral damage. Being short-sighted, the First Men mistook the White Walkers intention along the impending cold winter unleashed by them as something that would driven them to extinction. Soon it reached as a climax that the First Men noted this as the War of the Living and the Dead, the War of the Dawn. The Children of the Forest also put themselves as also siding with the First Men but entirely hiding all along it was their mistake of creating and unleashing something they thought they have it controlled. Like it happened in the tale, both the Night Watch and the Last Hero were able to push the Others and their horde of undead farther north. But in reality, the Night King had seen enough that his entourage towards the killing of the Children of the Forest given him an insight that no farther sooner the Children last surviving members won't last in the world. He made it look like the Last Hero and the Night Watch able to defeat him and his fellow kins. In truer perspective, he was just pulling back his forces in the Land of Always Winter and once again to slumber for centuries to come.
      The Wall was built and act as a deterrent against the Others if they intent to go south. It was at the time in the aftermath of the Long Night that the Children of the Forest spread the word that the White Walkers and the Night King are pure cold evil incarnate and a threat to the living. Going on and on that they have no conscience mind but just pure hate and cruelty to all living things, a monsters. They're painting them as something the world doesn't need. Worshipers of the Old Gods but liars in a sense. Just not knowing the facts that the real reason the Others killed all of them was an act of revenge bias the Night King intention.
      After 8,000 years, he's awoken once again but is completely unknown what his intention towards Westeros.
      As what the Starks used to say "Winter is Coming".

    I believe (like Preston Jacobs) that there is no magic in A song of ice and fire universe. The long night was most probably a nuclear winter from the war of children and the first men who were most probably highly advanced . Prophecy isn't real, nobody's Azor Ahai. The others are mutations of humans(we know this because humans and others can breed).
    More of all of this is in Preston Jacobs' series "The minds of wolves and Robins"

Finally jon noticed that the NK eyes looks like bran right now that he is not waking up... He realise and kill bran with pain in his heart.... The sorwd in the chest of bran burn red...
