The female caller that asked for a pizza, I wonder if that referrers to the woman who called 911 when she was in a domestic violence situation and called 911 and asked for pizza to fool her boyfriend.
It is a reference, if they ask the right questions she's actually in danger
Mongie Draws it does. People order pizza on 911 calls to mask the fact that they are calling 911.
Mongie Draws definitely feels like it
Mongie Draws that's immediately what I thought too
Mongie Draws yea ive seen this game played a long ass time ago and if u ask her the right questions she confirms an abuser in the room by ordering food /drinks
" I just want to make sure its not someone in a hostage situation'' meanwhile pizza lady is probably already dead
Yeah right
Exactly
Looked up the pizza call because it was haunting me that they ignored it. Turns out it was a domestic abuse situation lmao, good work guys
It’s based off a very real thing that happened.
When the woman calling for pizza said "I know" and then got ignored I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOO
OH IT WAS CODE WASNT IT???
Cameron Reyno if you’re scared of someone in the room with you, you pretend to order a pizza to ask yes or no questions and give address
They dismissed the pizza call- oh god-
Pizza woman is probably dead
It took me a while to realize it but once I did it made me sick because that shit probably happensw by the hour
Pretty sure she was the call for the beating on Pacific Coast Highway a minute or two later. I was waiting for that cuz it was a legit call.
"I'M LISTENING TO THE TUTORIAL"
Arin says as he proceeds to do not what the tutorial suggests him to do
In fairness the way that call was going I would've done the same thing, that was not a call where you needed to immediately know his location. You were just trying to figure out what this moron's talking about he's calling 911 for.
haha yes that was joke thanks for explaining haha
Games like these remind me that Arin should never be put in charge of anything. Ever.
On a serious note: if you ever have to call 911, tell the operator your location as soon as they pick up. That is the single most important piece of information to pass. Many 911 systems are out of date and can't quickly pull your location off your cell phone so you can't count on that.
By giving your location first, they at least know where to find you if your phone dies or loses signal. Plus, it allows them to save precious seconds by immediately sending units your way. That can mean the difference between life and death.
MrClickity I'm actually a 911 dispatcher and that is literally the first question we ask as soon as we pick up 911 calls and people rarely pay attention to that or give that first.
Prior Coast Guard, myself. Standing radio watch is similar to 911 dispatch (though admittedly not nearly as busy, we mostly sit for hours listening to nothing but routine radio chatter). We do occasionally deal with hoax Mayday calls and people having conversations on channel 16 (the hailing/distress frequency), though. And many amateur boaters have trouble remaining calm enough to clearly tell us their location and the nature of their distress.
I've only called emergency services twice but both times the first question was to state your emergency. They don't want to send a police car to a fire.
Krombopulos Michael that also depends on the dispatch center. For the one I work at, all the calltakers and dispatchers are in the same room, so whatever the issue is, were handling it there. But there are some nearby that have separate calltakers for police or fire/ems. And some even have separate calltakers and dispatchers depending on where you are in the area.
True but look at it this way: imagine something happens to you or your phone and you only have time to get 1 piece of information out, what would you rather it be? What to send, or where to send it? Obviously, you would immediately follow with the nature of the emergency but give the location first. If the line suddenly goes dead, they'll probably send police and an ambulance at a minimum (I'm assuming, anyway, CourageousNobody would know better than me) and now they at least know where to send them.
6:52 Little things like this are why I love Matt and Ryan
Even they are a bit angry with Arin's shit
Pinguino del Rio yeeeeeees
Arin’s uncanny ability to suck at listening to instructions always amazes me.
That pizza call was an emergency Arin. That woman will starve because of you. How could you.
1 like = 1 pizza for that unlucky woman
Amy McGucken you know that was a hostage situation right?
@@BasicallyDuncan You do know that was a joke, right?
Artistically *facepalms* I’m sorry, I’m just to literal
(Caller) "Hello 911 someone broke into my house." (911 operator) "What has happened?" (Caller) "I just told you, someone broke into my house." (911 operator) "How can i help." (Caller) "Send the police!" (911 operator) "I'm sorry i cant help you, all the police and fire fighters went to get a cat out a tree." (Caller) "All of them?" (911 operator) "Yes, all of them. We have two new guys, Arin and Dan, who thought it was necassarey to send everyone to get the cat."
Next morning. "Breaking news. A women was found dead in her house, along with her four children, husband, mother and father, and their dog, all of which seem to have been shot."
End of the news people story "This man was helped by all means to get his poor cat out of tree" Next day same guy found eating his cat lmao
Do people actually call to get their cat out of a tree? I can't imagine doing that, cats aren't that dumb, they know how to survive, they can survive a night if need be, or just get a ladder, ask a neighbor or something.
@@TheLegless101 Actually, yes. The fire department assists with this a lot.
"But in other news, some guy's cat is fine."
Ending of news: but aside of that, a cat was saved! Yay
*casually ignores that his officers are under fire*
Shmungleplunk Grinklestein Please for the love of god let this be a 2 episode only because its a shit show
Lots of micromanagement in this game but it does look interesting
What a gross profile picture but i agree with your comment
That was driving me crazy. I love these guys but it can be extremely frustrating watching Arin play games. At least Dan is completely clueless when playing Arin just doesn't read anything or have any attention span.
Not all hero's answers 911 calls.
Lmao
Arin (staying on the phone with the singing lady): Well I want to make sure its not a hostage situation!!
Me: you mean like the girl trying to 'order' a pizza???
FizzyPop Also complains about needing to send medical professionals to childbirth after sending EVERYONE to a cat
Ghiaman1334 well in arin’s defense the cat part was just a gag
/ hentai_botto \ I know, but, fuckin'... I thought the point was that he'd then act on the things that really need attention, but no, a couple minutes in and he'd exasperated someone needs help.
Dr. Prower lul I’m not exactly new to gamegrumps. I’ve been here long enough to know arin is criticized for almost everything he does in video games at least
Dr. Prower also I know ur comment was just a figure of speech lul
Arin no that woman was calling for pizza bc she was in the room with an abuser NOOO
TheHumble Prophet I hoped I wasn't the only one who picked that up.
Soft voice, Understanding who she was calling.. I knew immediately on my first playthrough because of those stories.
Oh god no Arin!!!
fuc
I know that would of happened.
TheHumble Prophet I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who thought that! Even more so when she said "yes I know" to the wrong number
I IMMEDIATELY KNEW WHAT WAS UP AND IT HURT MY SOUL FOR ARIN TO HANG UP ON HER
"Police transport needed"...Arin: "Nothing's happening"
How does he function?
Anyone else getting this in their recommendations circa the Back Street Boys Reunion Tour 2020?
i searched it sdfjdsffd

"I wanna make sure it's not a hostage situation" to the singing person...
right after a probable hostage situation call with the pizza order...
I like how they thought it was a joke call when it was a hostage situation and then when a joke call comes they think is a hostage situation.
I think it’s more someone on drugs loool.
The pizza thing is actually a trick to call the police while not alerting an abusive/dangerous person in the house/location
Jacob Krost its proven not to work many of times before though.
atmospheric ; well sometimes it’s your only option.
atmospheric ; but now that its well known, operators are being trained to recognize it
Tsukinotaku I've been working this job for 3 years and I can tell you the number of bullshit and otherwise prank calls we get on a day to day basis is pretty absurd. Even then, if we send police to the residence without any evidence of wrongdoing there's not much that can be done legally.
this is not at all a thing, one person did it and now everyone thinks it is a trick that operators should know. They are not trained to respond to that kind of situation. It is a huge misconception that is very dangerous. Spreading this lie could get people killed or hurt
Im an EMT and I wish A-A- ron and Dan were my dispatchers.

Why you want people to die?
@@SlyT-r calling people named Aaron a-a-ron is a joke that I get, but thats not his name? So?
That song phone call was legit creepy.
Right? Everyone is commenting on the pizza one, the song gives me chills
9:24
NOOOO DAN SHE'S NOT A BITCH she knew it was 9-1-1!
I've played this game and that women was faking a call to a pizza place because her attacker was still in the room. If you had asked her "is it an emergency" she'd say something along the lines of "YES, please come soon." and start hinting that she was in danger. RIP pizza lady :(
Mega Milk she's gonna be in even more danger once the Pizza doesn't arrive...
Jokes aside, It seems like a pretty obscure thing to know, and I do 't really blame them for not knowing (Hell, I didn't know until I read the comments). When I think of "Prank phone calls", ordering a pizza usually comes to mind, and there's always those idiots that decide to prank call 911.
Mega Milk does she really die in the game if you dont take serious? Given that the real woman survived, i find the game devlelopers decision for her die a messed up one.
His dumb ass did ask her that and she said yes, he just ignored it. "Are you sure you have the right number? This is an emergency line" "Yes," Literally in the video.
Film Fangirls and what's messed up about that? It's a very real thing and there's more than one case of that. In fact it's been spread to the point that 911 hotlines officially acknowledge pizza calls as calls for help. People dying in a 911 simulator seems par for the course if you ignore them.
Mega Milk lol she wanted pizza not help tho
I thought she was high so add me to the list of dumb asses lol
yeah I guess that makes since but my dispatcher friend and others I spoke with said she in the real story she didn't even call the 911. she called the pizza place and they sent it to the cops. so the article I read had the wrong facts.
Yeah but that's a fictional character. why make the player feel that bad by killing them off??
This could have all been avoided if you called 9111 to summon the mega police

Little do they know that the ‘Prank Call’ is actually what people say when they are being held hostage
- I'mHated yea the pizza one is commonly used for domestic violence situations
- I'mHated What kind of kidnapper allows a hostage to call for pizza? I think you mean potential DV situations or a dangerous person in vicinity of the caller.
Om'kenlef Varysh'k Just a mistake, I always thought it was if someone is being held against their will
Tess debunked? Like how? These calls are literally happening, sure not in hostage situations, but for example in domestic violence situations. That kind of stuff isn't as rare as people like to think.
Oh my god, we get it. You've read the story about the woman who pretended to order pizza to report a domestic violence call. Guess what? It's not 911 code. It's not a thing 911 operators are trained on; I know, I've been one. It's not like "pepperoni means he's got a gun, extra cheese means he's in the room with you". No. It happened that one time and it became a huge story because the operator involved used quick, sharp deduction to realize that the woman needed help.
This game shouldn't have even included that reference, because it reinforces the idea that this is common. If you call 911 and pretend to order a pizza, do you know what you're gonna get? Hung up on and your ass kicked by your boyfriend. If you're in a violent situation where you can't talk, call 911, put the phone on speaker, and set it down somewhere near you. Domestic violence situations are rarely quiet, the dispatcher will be able to tell that something is wrong and you need help. We're not trained to treat every pizza call like a domestic, but we ARE trained never to hang up on a line until the caller does.*
EDIT: Because people don't understand that context is a thing that matters, yes, you will get hung up on if the dispatcher feels like they're wasting valuable time by keeping the line open. Things like a prank, being sexually harassed (it happens a lot) or a completely silent line are going to make us hang up. But if we can hear a scuffle, shouting, crying, or even just talking, we're going to send units to your house and keep saying "Hello, can you hear me?" until you answer or the officer arrives.
this is a comment that deserves to be pinned, congrats on being the only reasonable person in this comment section
VoixMortelle then why did you say you would get hung up on, if they are to taught not to hang up until a caller does
okay good. i had no idea about the pizza thing.
Thank you for your rationality. Too many people in these comments seem to be armchair experts.
It just as easily could have been someone wasting their time. Thousands of people call to complain about fast food.
Is that really the best way to discreetly call the police when you are trying to report domestic violence? Because I feel like the situation would have to escalate to a pretty high level for the operator to be able to clearly hear that someone is in serious trouble and at that point it would be too late for the police to come before someone gets injured.
I love that Arin ignored the woman “ordering pizza” unknowning it was 100% a woman either abducted or with an abusive s/o and then when a singing person calls he immediately assumes about the hostage situation
lol I just commented about that!
Exactly! I'd defend Arin if it wasn't for that part. That part proves that he knows people will call 911 with something else entirely if they're in danger.
Police officers: "We're under fire and need backup!"
Arin: "These guys are fine."
Oh the Pizza call i started freaking out after she said yes i know i was like "SHE KNOWS WHO SHE CALLED SHE NEEDED HELP"
I had no idea. I was saying out loud "lady there are people who need actual help and you chose to get high and hold up the line?!" then I read the comments section and read the story afterwards. Cool to get that info but I don't understand why people feel the need to say "everyone know this" or "clearly she needed help" or "its common knowledge." like seriously I have never heard that before. so I don't understand why people expect dan and arin to.
Film Fangirls Because she was almost crying and said that she knew who she was calling and still kept pretending , you don't even have to know about the Pizza thing , is pretty obvious something is wrong.
It really sounded to me like she was high. I had no idea. I know now but only because I was told and read the story everyone is referring to. I get calls like that a lot at my job.
I have a friend whose a dispatcher and she gets prank calls and high calls all the time. they happen as well. the only way dan and arin could have known about her is if they knew the incident. I was only just informed about it. I think its awesome you guys know it but not everyone does.
I honestly get that same type of answer when I inform someone they have the wrong number. for me I thought she was just so high that she wasn't listening to them. At least in real life the woman was saved but in the game I really was with them until I saw the comments. I mean I'm still with them but I feel bad for calling her bitch now:)
6:58 even the editors can't deal anymore xD
Omg ik XD
"I'm listening to the tutorial!" *does the opposite of what the tutorial just told him* Classic Arin!
I died! XD
Poor guy was actually trying to listen to the tutorial, but missed that part unfortunately 😂
The Aaaargh the editors are Matt and Ryan from Supermega. They mention it all the time, and even at the beginning of the video.
2:10 "ah i spilled ketchup on my WRIST" me: "and then i missed-"
For fuck's sake, Arin is not an idiot for not realizing the pizza call was a woman going through domestic abuse.
Mindbreakerz thank you!! Why is the comment section like this? I get a few complainers but gosh dang!! I watch a lot of gamers and so far these guys top the worst commentors. I mean are they even fans? Every comment section has the predictable "arin is such an idiot", "why arent they taking this game serious?", "let dan play!" And when dan does play, "dan isnt as funny as arin.", and "how did they miss that it was so obvious!" Or the ever popular "watch them not finish this game." OH MY GOSH ITS IN EVERY SINGLE COMMENT SECTION OF THIER VIDS!!! Like gah!!!
Sorry. Had to vent:)
I agree the grumps fandom has been getting more childish the more they grow and I think most people haven’t watched the grumps old videos that highlight their type of comedy being that they play games to get a laugh not to actually play it correctly plus they have the Zelda series if you want to see the play a game right.
Film Fangirls I’m pretty new to the Game Grumps fandom, and I remember Arin saying that they don’t read the comments and it really confused me. Now I understand why. The comments are hard for me to read, let alone Danny and Arin reading them.
CinnamonPup -.- welcome to the fandom! Sorry about all this. Yeah its true they stopped reading the comments but Dan did admit he takes a peek. I pray he doesnt ever see this section. Part 2 is up and they address the case and the way they handle it is amazing.
Film Fangirls Oh cool! I was kinda afraid to watch it, but I’ll check it out! I’ve been here for a couple of months now, so I’ve learned a bit about the fandom. Although there are a few things I wished could be fixed, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more talented, funny, and creative fan base like the Grumps’. I have met so many friends through this channel and I adore the people in it.
Arin: (hangs up on the call which was clearly that "call 911 if you're in danger and act like you're ordering a pizza so they'll know something is up" tactic)
Arin literally seconds later: I DON'T WANT TO HANG UP ON THIS PERSON SINGING IN CASE ITS A HOSTAGE SITUATION!!!
Flawless logic my friends.
"clearly"
"CLEARLY"
Yeah fucking right.
If it's as well known as you claim, it would be completely useless
J.J. Shank Her response to "this is the rwong number" was literally "Yes i know". If that doesn't seem suspicious i don't know how any person with an abusive spouse would even conatct 911 succesfully.
The Glorious Champion of all that is Good and Just It is pretty well known, people (mostly women) when they were recently abused or are in fear of being abused do exactly that. And it's still effective even when it is well known because the abuser has no way of knowing wether or not tehy dialed the meergency line or not.
Game grumping: Skipping or ignoring an in game tutorial in order to brute force a game.
Example: this video.
Pirate Burger Example 962: this video
Who cares?
God it was so infuriating lmao. I usually think its funny af, but I couldn't stand it this episode.
Bakin' Rubber I thought the same thing when I saw the cops needed backup and Arin did literally nothing. "Is everything going okay over here?" he asks as there are words right where he clicked saying "UNDER FIRE NEED BACKUP"
After that pizza call... pretty oblivious.
"There are two armed men here!"
"Umm, I would hope so! Most people have two arms, Jerk! Don't call again!"
_"Remember, _*_only_*_ use the emergency line for emergencies!"_
*_The people at this party are too loud, and they're probably high. Send the police!_
"Is it possible for 9-1-1 to be fully filled?" asks Arin, meaning: Could you be put on hold or get a busy signal when calling emergency services. Well... I live in Detroit. ... ... ... You can extrapolate the rest.
Well, quick look at who the mayor is and I can say with certainty, Liberal/dem mayor = extremely bad city.
I do really appreciate the game giving warning and instructions for calling in real life
Yeah, I think it was pretty cool to include that because stuff like that and basic first aid are important shit everyone should know. Someone's life could depend on it.
to bad the game doesn't mention that when your in a threatening situation you should call 911 and order a pizza
lmao gotta love Matt & Ryan making sure we all knew the tutorial said at 6:55 "ask where first" so that we would understand how Arin wasn't listening.
The pizza one isnt a wrong number. The woman was being abused by her boyfriend and called 911 but pretended it was a pizza place so her boyfriend wouldn't hurt her. This is actually based on a real 911 call that happened.
The Grumps are known for playing games wrong. It seems that "game grumping" is actually a thing.
Yet they play a game where you have to pay attention, like ALL of your attention. Like 100% focused on the game.
*I love/hate it*
Guys chill. Not everybody knows about the 911 pizza order thing.
SabbyRo guilty as charged.
Film Fangirls I mean it was kinda obvious something was up when she said "I know" when they told her it was the wrong number. Haha but I'm not going to freak out just because people don't know about it and they didn't do something in a video game.
SabbyRo yeah i seriously thought she sounded high lol i feel bad now (well sorta) but im with you. Its supposed to be game:)
Film Fangirls Like Arin sent all resources to save a cat in a tree lol
SabbyRo that was so hilarious!! I almost fell out of my chair.
The woman calling to order a pizza was more likely in danger. I also recall that some VERY similar happened in real life, I could be wrong though.
MaroonRi it’s common enough that they specifically train 911 operators to recognise it
It makes sense. Well, I know not to have high hopes if Arin and Danny were my 911 operators!
+MaroonRi
To be fair, if they were trained to be 911 operators, Danny would listen and would probably follow their instructions. Unlike Arin. For example, they said to spread the units out on the map and Danny reminded Arin of that later
Korra Villanueva people are saying thats a myth tho. Til the operators in the comments confirm it Im just gonna wait and see.
MaroonRi lol well i learned its best not to have them as my surgeons!! But pizza thing aside, i had so much fun watching this and didnt take it too serious. I laughed my head off when he sent all those people to get the cat!!! 😂
Um... That pizza order was someone in a domestic abuse situation bros
The pizza call was very important and you should have finished it
agreed
Definitely a domestic abuse technique. Then again I don't expect them to think longer than 2 seconds about anything in front of their face
I've taken domestic abuse calls using that exact premise. I felt my stomach drop a bit when they just dismissed the call.
They didn't know but I'm gladly surprised so many people in the comments do. Once they realize what's up they'll do the right thing.
no they just call her a bitch instead
Here I am in 2020 like 👀 when Dan says “WHY ARE THEIR GUNS OUT?!”
Was really impressed with the premise of this game. As a 911 dispatcher, I believe the developers did an excellent job capturing some of the calls and mannerisims as well as the stress and annoyance of sometimes being over-burdened. As to some of the seemingly stupid or ridiculous calls, I can assure you that real life gets WAY stupider when that phone rings. Thanks GGs for picking this game!
I was eating crazy bread as Dan said "hello dominos I have an emergency hunger for crazy bread"
also crazy bread is from little ceasars get your pizza places riGHT
omg i was thining the same thing how dare you dan
that explains why I never heard of crazy bread, being australian we don't have little caesar's
Low key think that Pizza call could have been a hostage situation.
it was
Truce Booze Lowkey? Why can’t you just say “I think” why add the lowkey part😂
its a thing used for people being abused so they can use the phone it just sounds like a pizza call no big deal so the person abusing them doesn't know there calling the police
that was a domestic abuse call 9:10
9:11
Arin is going to be getting some very stinging emails after this one.
i love the editing- lol even matt and ryan are done with arin's shit XD
9:40 I’m pretty sure that was a girl being held hostage and was letting out a coded cry for help, But whatever.
It was
"UNDER FIRE, NEED BACKUP"
"is everything okay here? yeah looks good"
6:55 that moment when your editors become UA-cam commenters
“Local man dies from not having help”
“2 million cops show up at tree to save cat”
“Hello dominos”
Me who actually just got off work from dominos “yes would you like to try our new bread twists”
Noooo! the woman who ordered pizza was a domestic abuse call
The pizza call was a domestic violence call
Dude calling 911 and "ordering a pizza" is a legit thing that people do when they can't let the person threatening them know they are calling 911
Idk if the dispatchers are still trained for those types of calls but they are supposed to ask "if you need medical assistance, say you want breadsticks" et cetera
Chill guys. She just wanted her pizza delivered with protection.
FUUUUUUUUCK can Dan play now? This is now 3 games in a row where Arin’s impatience and ignoring helpful information makes watching this insufferable. Dan was great playing Thousand Year Door.
You had me until Thousand Year Door. Absolutely abysmal problem solving and pattern recognition from the fully grown adult.
Alex I. I love Dan and his plays but i love watching Arin too:) my favorite Dan play is SotC:) I enjoy Thousand Year Door as well! And his Lesiure Suit Larry lol
At least Dan finished the game.
Yeah that pizza call was clearly a disguised domestic violence call. Why would someone making a joke sound like they're trying to be quiet? She also said "I know" when she was told she had the wrong number, meaning it really was an emergency
Bass Player Taylor Exactly. Everyone’s saying “The pizza thing isn’t official, nobody knows about the pizza thing” when she CLEARLY said that she knew she was calling 911. I’m not necessarily pissed at Arin or anything, but some of these comments defending him... yeesh.
The pizza order wasn't a joke...
pretty sure it wasnt a prank and that girl couldn’t say there was a problem which is why she said she knew it was 911
As an EMS provider thanks for playing this game.
Nathan Core youre amazing for what you do:)
Thank you for everything you do! Seriously, you guys are real heroes.
This is seriously one of the most frustrating episodes I've watched so far, I understand the purpose to be funny but christ there's like no line of thought behind any of their actions
I thought it was fairly common knowledge that if someone calls 911 and orders a “pizza”, it means there’s someone who’s in a room with them who is endangering them and they need to be discreet.
Edit: The intention of this comment was never to yell at Arin or Dan. They honestly didn’t know, that’s not any fault of theirs. ✌️ (If the game devs didn’t anticipate that some people wouldn’t know about the pizza trick, they wouldn’t have included the option to ignore that call.)
I'm pretty shocked so many people knew what was going on. Unfortunately the only people who come across this code are 911 operators and 'lucky' victims seeking a way out. Maybe more people will know now.
No, it's not. If it was, the abusers would know it too, and then it wouldn't work. None of you people have any sense of logic because you're too busy yelling at Arin over a video game character that isn't real and isn't in any danger. Fuck's sake.
Samantha Rhodes I've never heard of that before and I watch a lot of crime shows. I only learnt it after I played this game.
I had no clue but I'm glad I know now. though I do hope it doesn't become too common cuz the abusers could figure it out too.
I didn't see too many people yelling about it... It's strange when your run-of-the-mill gameplay irritation bleeds over into the real world.
9:39 probably just doomed someone in a dire situation who had their attacker nearby lmao
11:02 oh here
Funny how they make fun of the game for telling them to use headphones like its obvious that they need to hear things and then they just talk over everything. They could have played it on mute
Chris DeMint Legit! Also like speakers and headphones are the only way to listen as opposed to say, the built-in audio of the device (PC, TV, phone, etc) they're playing on. Privileged enough to always own separate speakers, I guess.
Don't quit your day job, Arin.
No, really, people might die if you work in any sector other than entertainment.
You're acting as if he's actually gonna join the police force.
Calm down.
/whoosh
OH MY GOD, Arin sucks at a game....... Get over it dumbass
MissAshley42 I'm sure at least one person has died in behalf of arin on his current career choice.
Death from laughing too hard.
Thanks, Arin. It's nice to know I wasn't the only one to immediately burst out laughing after they said "start duty". XD
We will send the firemen to light that tree on fire then that cat won’t climb a tree again
I feel like you shouldn't of ignored the pizza caller. They might've been in trouble and unable to speak openly.
Caller: there is a car that is illegally parked
Operater: what makes you think that
Caller: THERE IS NOT ENOUGH SPACE TO WALK THROUGH
I love how Dan's reaction to almost every call is "send everyone" :D
I also love that!!❤
As a 911 Dispatcher I've never been so excited to see you play a game....

Am I the only person who before reading the comments had no idea about the pizza thing? Cause y’all are making me feel as dumb as Arin
The Bracket Lizard Probably not, but it stood out for everyone who did know because not only did they ignore someone desparate, they insulted her to boot.
The Bracket Lizard i know right?
YukonExpatriate i called her a bitch too and went on a rant. I dont feel too bad cuz she doesnt exist and the real woman survived but give us a break! We get it!! We didnt know!
Not reffering to you just the myraid of comments about it.
No, you're not the only one. The people acting like this is common 911 "secret code" are the ones who are wrong. I promise you we're not trained in pizza language. It happened one time and it made the news and now every acts like it's standard emergency practice. It is not. 99% of the time when someone calls 911 ordering pizza, it's a prank.
I had no idea omg im so confused but i felt so bad hearing her voice. I would have heard something qas up by her tone
I know this is supposed to represent serious incidents, but I was crying when Arin elected to sing with the crazy dude at 10:44 🤣🤣
I love how they thought the singing was a hostage situation but didn't think so for the Pizza call! XD
Nice zoom in matt n ryan
when the lady who is getting abused called 911 and they thought it was a joke call...keep with the times game grumps
gamernerd1992 stop bashing or leave
Jared Deboard Ah you must be new here. Welcome to the GameGrumps fan base: where everyone shits on them for everything they do no matter what.
Actually I'm not new. Immature assholes have no room on their page. Grow tf up. They do videos for fun, not to be serious. Now, like the rest of the fanbase. Stop acting like a middle schooler and grow tf up
Nappa the Lovable sadly. Tho i find that even though people are really thrashing them over that one choice, people have pretty chill responding to each other. Im a bit annoyed that people are expecting everyone to know this stuff but at least no one has called me names or anything like that. So thats a plus:)
Jared Deboard while i completly agree that if people come here just to insult them they should go away, Nappa hasnt been one of them. They havent insulted anyone and they are sadly right. The fandom seems full of these people. You go to Jacksepticeye or Cryaotic or GTLive (depending on the game), and you get some pretty awesome fans actually having a good time and not taking anything so serious. Not the case with the Grumps fandom. Hard to tell if anyone is an actual fan or not.
Saitama was a cop. For like 5 minutes.
arin hates that show
Jarl Balgruuf Jarl Ballin
Yugi Muto swag
Arin hates One Punch Man because he has an ADHD-ridden sense of humor so he can't see anything that doesn't have farts, diarrhea and titties in it as a parody
Herman Manly Oh, is the baby offended that someone doesn’t like their overrated anime??? Poor baby~
*Game tells arin to ask about location first*
*arin does the EXACT OPPOSITE*
Game grumps in a nutshell
While he shouts at the caller, "hang on, im listening to the tutorial"
"GOD PLEASE HELP WE ARE UNDER FIRE" "NEED BACK UP" arin: "singing on the phone with random caller"
wonder if they're going to realize the pizza call was about domestic violence
no
Troy Watlington Dan usually reads people's messages/emails so he's probably already gotten thousands of messages about it by now.
Nappa the Lovable oh great:( like on one hand im glad theyre gonna know but Dan doesnt need to see people calling Arin an idiot or shaming him for calling her a bitch. Hes probably gonna feel really bad and he shouldnt have to.
Obvious hostage situation: "it's a prank call!" Obvious prank call: "I gotta make sure it's not a hostage situation!"
it's funny cause the whole "pizza" thing is actually like a coded way to say you're in a domestic abuse situation so NICE GOING ARIN
For the record, Dan was clueless too.
Matt & Ryan zooming in on the instructions Arin clearly chose to ignore was the BEST
Sends 4 units to a cat in a tree, can't spare a minute talking to someone looking for a "pizza"
Arin to Answer your question, 911 centers can be filled or overload, as a 911 operator myself i hope to never see that day, BUT it can happen
Joe Schmmo just wanted to say thanks for the work you do.
911 hello this is dan how can I help
Oh I’m sorry I meant to dial
6969
TheUnstealthyNinjas 6969 hello this is Danny Sexbang how can I help you
TheUnstealthyNinjas awesome!!
When someone calls the police and orders a pizza, it's an undercover way to get a hold of the police when you have the person in which you need protection for in front of you and they can't know you are calling the cops
No it isn't. This isn't 911 operator code or any kind of "undercover" method. It's a thing that happened one time and the story got popular. In reality, when someone calls 911 and orders a pizza, it means they're prank calling 911. Trust me, I've taken those calls many times.
VoixMortelle Okay, cool contrarian! How would you suggest someone call 911 when there’s a dangerous person within close proximity of them? Kindly shut the fuck up, please. Thank you.
Professional Grimestepper I'm not saying it to be contrarian. I'm saying it because I've worked as a 911 dispatcher and it's true. The best way to call 911 if you're unable to speak is to put the phone on speaker and either set it down or hold it in a non-suspicious way. Domestic violence isn't usually quiet, they'll be able to tell you need help. So until you know what you're talking about, kindly shut the fuck up please.
Oh thank you! I didn't know that! I guess the game is playing that particular situation into the game
and yeah, I see knoe that I wrote it as an absoltute, sorry!! I really thought that could be a common mecanism used to contact 911
I like those "Sound is important in this game" notes because I play most games listening to UA-cam, music, or watching movies.
the zoom into the tutorial and then the zoom to him clicking what happened at 6:59 has me in tears
I can tell this is going to be so aggravating.
Do you really call 911 for a loud party and get the sirens out? If the only thing you know is that they're being too loud, you would just call the police station right?
Right? I'm pretty sure a noise complaint does not constitute an emergency.
In a way it's disturbing the peace, I believe?
Not really. Disturbing the peace implies some sort of overtly disruptive conduct. Simply being too loud is just a violation of noise regulations which are typically municipal codes, on par with something like littering. Most of the time, they'll direct you to the non-emergency line.
People call 911 for every little thing.
One of the facts in the game that comes up is:
"In reality, an operator receives about 150 calls during a duty. Almost 3/4 of those are ignorable. Those are empty calls, mistaken call,s unreasonable questions, or pranks in most cases. Out of all the others, only 25% in fact needed an intervention of emergency units. The most popular incidents are car collisions, domestic violence, loud behavior and health problems."
The devs changed that proportion to make the game more enjoyable.
People do it. All. The. Time.
Sometimes I just miss Barry
I love this game! I am so excited, not surprised the "pizza call" got them.
I like to imagine that they are lowkey serious 911 operators in long beach and it's just pure hell there LOL
