I wear Oakleys while I shoot because they look cool, and that's all that matters
This but unironicallly.
If you look good while doing it you are probably doing it right
Same
What oakleys would you consider now?🤔
I wear a GPNVG even at daylight for that same reason
BOOM! I hit the bell, got the notice and now I'm here.
Now, let's talk about fitness and nutrition: How many bags of Bugles should we be eating?

I'm on it, boss!
Lmao. I always have 1 in my day pack. I knew it wasn't enough.
Don't forget your crayons.
fearsomefoursome4 definitely a must, make a nice snack, plus I can use them to attempt to complete a picture in my connect the dots and color by numbers book
Mom bought me some Dewalts. 10/10 would recommend
I come here for Daddy's load of knowledge....I stay to read all the amazing comments his followers make
You for the Daddy's Load part right. How's your throat?
Cute haircut.
thanks bae
You must be navy
I just got a pair of Gatorz and they are without a doubt nicer than any Oakley's I've had.
Oakleys: plastic, nonadjustable, overpriced, quicker material fatigue, slow customer service, not American made, and qqy-looking. Gatorz: the opposite of Oakleys.
I identify as a 2012 Honda Accord (luxury edition)
Bros Grims haha wasn't ready for this comment
Garand Thumb I identify as a triple meat Whataburger with cheese. On a serious note, love your channel and all the stuff you bring to the table. Keep it up my man!
Bros Grims I'm an attack helicopter
I sexually identify myself as a flannel shirt

Saroxis Big Boss, is that you?
Saroxis BOSS! *salutes*
It's all about looking cool, just a fact.
Kept you waiting huh?
Double eye patch is the best
Love my Peltor coms! They're perfect for when I'm doing hardcore airsoft ops in the basement and mom needs to tell me the pizza rolls are ready. I even got her to talk in 10-codes to me so she doesn't break radio protocol. In the end, Love pillow was rescued and we all enjoyed pizza rolls.
I will stick to my Minecraft shades thx xx
savage
Hell yeah
I make my wife watch your intros because we both find them hilariously amazing, so you do have at minimum one female that watches however brief it may be.
More than one. Feels weird to be jumping out like "we're here" to be acknowledged, lol. Still searching for a review that mentions small ballistic glasses to fit my female head.
despite being all dudes this comment section still has more sexual tension than freshman homecoming
TJ Bach oh shiz
You talking shit about my waifu?
What, your shooting buddy isn't a trap? What are you, gay?
You said coming.
Lol
Lol
Started my tacticool journey w/ a pair of Wiley X SG-1 with custom special-edition mirrored lenses. I had no end of problems w/ sweating and fogging, in a drydrydry Australia and SoCal... So I got me a sweet pair of ESS CDIs, which went through my hell of a rough treatment and survived, only to get lost by my niece-in-law, by the fault of all my in-laws...
So I'm currently wearing ESS ICE, currently on my 3rd pair. They're highly recommended, no problems with them, I ensure they stay on my head by doing up a custom-knotted self-tightened elastic bungie. Finally stored away my much-well-used and loved ESS ICE, replacing them with a sweet pair of ESS Crossbow, if it's good enough for Nutnfancy, it's good enough for me!
Can I just say god bless garand thumb. I've been watching his vids for years and even now when I have a question this guy is always there with an answer, a trusted answer. And I say that as a professional couch commando, overly critical and unreasonable. Lol
Smith Prospects and Hudsons have been my go to for years now. Mil spec rated and can be worn outside Mil and LE roles.
Lol. Couldn't be better timing on this video. Today we (my team) T&Eed the Smith, Revision, ESS, and Wiley X because we want to move away from the goggles. I have used ESS and Wiley X glasses in the past, but based on my limited experience with the Revision, I liked them the best. Did not fog and felt the most comfortable.
Another great line of eye protection to check out is Wiley X. All of their glasses are ANSI rated as far as I know. Plus, the glasses they have with polarized lenses are outstanding. The visual clarity is top notch. They work great as sunglasses for everyday use too. For that reason in particular, I generally always have my eye pro with me in case a sporadic trip to the range occurs. Fair warning, the frame on them is kinda thick, which might cause your ear protection to break the seal around the ear and lose some effectiveness. I hadn't actually considered that aspect till I saw Garand Thumb point it out in this video, but its never really been a problem for me. So give Wiley X a look, or don't. I ain't trying to tell you how to live your life.
Review some flannel shirts for us Daddy!
I like these old format videos so much better.
gatorz are really solid. they make them in all different type of frame styles and lens colors. they even have a clear lens option
I took your advice and started screaming Barney’s I love you, you love me song through the envelope slot in my front door at the nice Dominos man. He was so happy of my kind song that he started shaking, in fact he was so happy that he couldn’t even remember how to speak. Great advice (11/10) would recommend.
You should definitely look at ESS Crossbows. I've used the regular frame for a few years, and they rock. Super comfy. I have a friend who wears those under his Peltors with no problem.
one of the best channel on UA-cam
Didn't have Eyepro during the invasion of Iraq or earpro. Didn't have any issues, get eyepro for 2nd deployment. 3 eye surgeries later and I still need reading glasses lol. Huge advocate for eyepro regardless of it not working for me when I needed it the most. Eyepro is essential for the small things. I wont shoot without them, shit I don't even weed wack the lawn without them and yes i break the cardinal rule of looking cool.
US MIL-PRF-31013 is the six times kinetic energy level of the ANSI Z87.1+. So the only sensible option is going with eye protection which complies to mil-spec. Take a look at US ARMY Authorized Protective Eyewear List.
The Oakley M Frames SI 3.0's are great! Work well w over the ear pro. The full seal Helo inserts are great for Tankers like myself blocking sand and other airborne bullshit! I know a lot of the SF Airborne operators like them for jumps. Theyve been very good to me on deployments hence keeping up w the Joneses in the newest version. I dont care if its nerdy, but i got a pair in multicam and really like they did some M Frames up camo. 2-13 Cav Rgt "Dark Riders"! Scouts Out!
For us old crappers, I look forward to your review Rx eye protection. WileyX Valor is what I ware. But I need a complex lens for close and distance. Thanks for outstanding content with a smattering of humor.
Hey Garand have you ever tried to do the run portion of the PT test with Heelys?
big fan of my Oakley Mframe 3.0 glasses. also love my Oakley Radar, and i also wear Oakley Gascan
Loving the Oakley 3.0 and the varaiaty of glass colours.
Great Vid! I have been going back and forth between the Wiley-X Rommel II and the Smith Optics Aegis Echo with very good results. I was able to pick up several sets of Aegis Echos when they were on a Clearance Sale and I was able to get several sets that I keep in my rifle cases and range bags as well as in my primary vehicle. I was introduced to the Rommel II by several SWCC members during an extended TAD tour in ASF and volunteered for bay patrolling that was an incredible fun time on the water going very fast and getting to shooting a M240B at stationary and moving targets.
Please Keep up the GREAT WORK!
Half day from school and a new video!!
It's really cool when your on patrol scanning the ground for I.E.Ds and you glasses fog up.... awesome
Have tried ESS ICE 3 Naro, Oakley M Frame Strike, M Frame 2.0 and Revision Hellfly. All top glasses.
Only APEL, ANSI, Z87+ or similar, safety first. You can get a bunch of rifles but only 2 eyes.
I refuse to wear eye pro while daddy garand paints my face.
"Like, comment, subscribe.....Do all that good shit." I like when you talk to us like that Mr. Thumb.
Such a great opening and so true.
Notification Squad..... y'all the real MVP's
i find they all steam up.
but then again I am very fat.
being fat=obstructing bullets that might otherwise hit your teammates
Thanks for the comment, bullet sponge. Try spitting on the inside of the lens first, wearing a bandana, and putting some powder (very, very light) on your face. It'll keep the moisture down and prevent fogging.
It is a very valuable team assist oriented character class called "tank".
I enjoy this channel too much.
Man you guys have come a long way since the Wiley X from 2005 or so.
gatorz has come out with the inferno lens which will become clear when dark out could be a good option
Coming from 7 years in the future, Garand definitely took his own advice and ate up
I've use my WileyX glasses for a few years and haven't noticed any interference with my ear pro. Not sure if they meet the standards but they're approved for any training classes and ranges I've been to.
Ok, I’m new to the channel. I’ve seen you talk about how crazy the comment sections are.. and you’re right. I love it. I’m in. But not in that way 💕
So my personnel recommendation would be the Oakley Shocktubes if you want a lower profile ballistic sunglass. They're saved my eyesight when a lady decided to head-oned my patrol vehicle earlier this year (2022). They held up without even a scratch despite flying glass, debris, and full airbag deployment. I have a lot of Oakley sunglass, and ballistic sunglasses in general, but I always revert back to the Shocktubes.
notif squad we out here.
flannel review video when?
Personally I'm a huge fan of the ESS crossbow glasses. I haven't used any of the eye pro from the video so I can't really compare them but the crossbow suppressors are super comfy under ear pro.
How are the suppressor without earpro? Sometimes I use without helmet, sometimes I ride motorcycle, or would I need the strap?
@@danielney6 I have two different frames for them, the slim one for under earpro has little holes for an included strap and the “normal” sunglasses frame has rubber grips on the arms. The strap is really unobtrusive and the other frames fit like normal sunglasses. I find the slim frames fall off without earpro and honestly I just have the lanyard always attached to them.
If anyone is experiencing fogging problems but don’t want to change glasses try a product called frog spit, I haven’t used it personally but someone I know (who is experienced in many types of combat) recommended it to me when I got a glasses strap
damn that notification bell is the business. we have a weird community here. THOTS gather round
That slow mow running clip is like watching tactical baywatch.....so hot 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great video, your really good at running in slow motion... amazing
ESS Suppressors are also great to wear with hearing protection and are balistic-rated. They do have that "brow" though (which I personaly dont mind)
The link that you have is for the m frame the military S.I ones are the Oakley m frame 3.0 plus the look cool and retail for 130 they have a unique lens called prizm that makes what you see more clear.
ANSI Z87.1 is standard impact protection, Ansi Z87.1+ is high velocity impact protection. Get the ones with the plus.
I use ESS ICE and now I consider purchasing Boole Ranger just for fun and looking cool.
I let an arrested subject "escape" so I could get home on time to watch the new Garand Thumb.
make a video on nvgs you recommend
Issued
AN/PVS-7 or AN/PVS-21. As long as you look cool, nothing else matters.
those are hard to take home. don't count on it
notification squad up
Do a video on different calibers and why/when should you use each one.
When I go to the range I normally wear standard OSHA approved safety glasses. I all ways have them with me. They are very thin over the ears and and I don't have any sweating issues. For me they work well.
Have been a fan of Wiley X for a while now, but the frames can pry up over-ear hearing protection depending on how you're holding the weapon. It's always a nice surprise when you least expect it, then you're saying "huh? What?" for the next few hours...
Great video and I might check out the Smith's. I'm currently using Revision Hellfly Ballistic Sunglasses with the Photocromic lenses which I really like instead of swapping out lenses but I find they will fog pretty easily when it's hot out.
I wear prescription lenses in Wiley X frams for work. Wiley X are ANSI Z87.1 stamped.
Oakley Tombstones are just the way to go with shooting glasses. You simply don't know what you haven't seen with all those other glasses on unless you tried Tombstones. I would never ever shoot clay or from the ground without them again. The field of view man, the field of view...
The new Magpul glasses work pretty good and look cool
very insightful never thought about the frames with eye pro
I like your haircut dad.
Dude, you're really hitting on a lot of great topics!!!
I like my Oakley Radar Range glasses with the PRIZM TR45 colored lenses.
I love my ESSs Crosbows with prescription lenses adapter.
Just a straight female passing by. I'm only here to stare at garand for 5 minutes. 😛
Honey, that's why we are all here....
Lmao
@@mathewholihan2468 me too
Mathew Holihan 😂
Bollé Tactical.. I use their Raiders and X810 .. Unlike other brands I've used over the years, Bollé is the only one that doesn't fog up.
Hows it going Garand Thumb. I have to wear Prescription glasses have no Idea how they are rated, But when I was on the Yakima Firing Range 30+ years ago I had Eagle eyes. Now I have old man eyes. We do love your Channel keep the Humor flying. Thank you
ESS Ice naro's have worked pretty well for me...
As they're pretty much the only one that are not too big for my face.
I'm a chick and I love your videos, content, and I'm a firearm enthusiast! 😉
Thank you, another informative video. I'm from Switzerland and bought the other day at my local gun store SWISS MADE 🇨🇭"Red Rock Eyewear". They started as motorcycle eyewear company but even the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) is wearing those glasses. They are suuuuuper light and extra thin made around the ears for under helmets and hearing protection, and they are shatterproof. Maybe anyone wants to have a look...
Some advice would be good on which shade should you use depending on the environment, you know, black for sun protection, clear for night ops. Cause there's always "that guy" that takes black shades in the dark. Also, I would like to hear on which cases sould one wear the yellow or the orangish shades. Thanks dad.
how bout some info on NVG's....thank you for all the great videos!!!! super grateful.
Since I need prescription lenses,I use Oakley Half Jackets. XLJ lens over the standard lens. Polarized too.
I use the cerakoted Oakley SI Fuel Cells from Daniel Defense.
You gotta go Oakley - tactical and cool!
Nice fresh cut bro.
Up until a year ago, I didn’t realize that I need better eyepro. Not because I was wearing sub par ones but because I needed Asian fit ones. Asians have a shallower nose brige so it’s a bit of a problem with most eye pro. I am wearing the Oakley Flak 2.0 Asian fit ones. They fit perfectly and I have the shooter lens in them. Also, they are more sunglasses style so I don’t mind wearing them everyday.
I'm a monicle, top hat kinda guy so I'll leave it to the
pro-pros...great vid
Video on what type of flannels to buy plz
using oakley Mframe 3.0 for running ,shooting and airsoft ^^
Revision Sawfly MAX-Wrap
This is the one that i use in the german Bundeswehr.
MSKommando I have never deployed with them, but I love mine and have never had an issue with them personally.
Got multiple free ESS. Happy wit um.
My cousin says the 1 rule of being a paratrooper...
But I digress. I don't tactical but I like wearing Wiley X because they're inexpensive and ballistic rated, since I wear sunglasses outside in the daylight near 99% of the time. I also just acquired a pair of Oakley Flak 2.0 which are not MIL or ANSI rated and are just to well...look cool.
I just picked up glasses from ESS. So far so good. I look dam good in them tooo! Thanks for the vid.
Definitely one of my favorite gum channels, new to it and great comedy. But I was wondering, I'm a 21yo college student and I have been thinking about joining the military after I graduate, curious if you have any incite and whatnot. My dad is ex-sf officer, but I kind of want a different perspective on being in the military and if you have any advice. Not exactly sure what you do, but I'm guessing sf or a specialized unit. But great advice on training and whatnot. Keep putting them out, I enjoy it and watch these between classes. Thanks.
What are you wearing now in 2022 ?
On Smiths website, the pivlock echos page has a picture of you.
i love the WileyX Valor's for eyepro
Check out Venture Gear Stonewalls. Mil-spec rated and a good price point in several lens colors.
I've been wearing gas cans by Oakley for over 4 years and they are super tough and stick to your face well.
I recently purchased the ESS Eyewear Crossbow (with Clear, Black and Amber) and thinner frames. I'm not sure I can actively move around it in yet as I find that the thicker frames droop down.
You forgot about WileyX, I bought a set of Saber advanced and you interchange the arms for an elastic band
I really dig my ESS Suppressors.
