Her beatboxing while playing the flute sounded like it was about to go so hard, I want the full version of that so I can break my neck from headbanging so hard
The expressive potential of the flute incorporating these techniques is just unbelievable. I'm not a flutist, but hearing this reminded me of the track called "So Flute" by St Germain, who's always been one of my core musical inspirations. I'd be so curious to hear what you can come up with using these techniques in a more electronic/jazz environment :)
The real expressive potential of the flute is something completely else: creating colours and avoiding the fisiological flows of the instrument, which is very difficult and deserves compliments and admiration from fellows flute players. These tricks are just tricks that impress the non flutists, but I expected nothing more from Jasmine Choi, unfortunately.
@@rayaenelmar4283 I think you should work on your discernment and maybe revisit the concept of "technique" vs "trick", your comment is the exemplification of online trash. Do us all a favour and keep your bs to yourself.
You make this look so easy that I feel like I could mess around and figure each one out in a single sitting. I am skilled with my tong enough that I'm confident in my ability to do the flutter tonging as well as the others, but I'm also aware that it takes way more to just get the angle right on the flute.
I love finding pieces with these different techniques to play, it’s so much fun to mess around with my instrument! A lot of people will call some of these techniques beatboxing on flute, it’s fun to look up and listen to other people perform it as well.

@@jaygames3905 Lmao 12 hole is the easiest one bro, all the notes are in a line and for most you don't even need to learn about breath pressure. One really big difference between an Oc and a recorder is that even variable-pressure Ocs can only play one note per fingering; Recorder has 2. To answer your question tho yes, I have seen one. That slap is crazy, she makes it sound like strings!
That’s because she’s playing Paganini’s caprice number 24! She’s trying to make it sound that way~
