Thank you, Rick! You made going from water vessels to clock towers to pocket watches to wrist watches fun and informative. More videos like this, please! Tell us why there is such a fascination to manufacture wrist watches with a, "wow factor." The thinnest. The most complex. The most elegant. The toughest timepiece. More power to you and your Team.

I have an old wrist watch. It is a mechanical watch. The brand is Packard. Is it possibly worth something?
Anyone has any info about these?
    Thanks.

Great video, even if Blancpain and Zodiac beat Rolex to the punch when it comes to the first commercially available dive watch, but just like Smiths conquered Everest first, Rolex again had the better PR department.

I'd love to see Rick, Corey and Chumlee talk about their own watches.

Digest with caution. Some wildly inaccurate information in this video. I would love to see the reference that he found stating a boar's hair was the first hairspring. Preposterous!

The one thing I'd argue that's missing from this is the role that the first world war had on the popularity of men's wristwatches

There is no such thing as a presidential watch/Rolex. The presidential name is for the bracelet. So you could have different watches with a presidential bracelet.

Two questions, Rick, if you don't mind.
    1) I get why you don't want to touch Roloxes that have even one flaw, but that said, is it possible to have a genuine Rolex that does have flaws or do they just never let a flawed watch out of the shop?
    2) As someone who really knows watches and not only their value in dollars but also appreciates the technology and craftsmanship involved in creating them, at what point do you think a watch becomes entirely overpriced? I ask because it seems to me that watches that go for tens of thousands of dollars can't possibly be THAT good.

Europen can’t compite with American pocket watches ? Man ,comme one.All invention in horlogerie and additional functions was found in Europe. Check some names pls like A.LBreguet , Berthroud or Jacqur D’roz.
