Rick's Samurai Sword
Переглядів 63 тис.7 років тому
We are always being asked, "what's the coolest thing in the shop?" Well here's Rick's favorite, this Samurai sword was made around 1600 and restored by Mike Yamasaki, the 2001 All-Japan Appraisal Champion & Museum Curator. Mike can be found at www.tetsugendo.com. Unfortunately it is currently not for sale but you know what they say... Follow us to see more of the cool stuff that's come through ...
I'm pretty sure every guy in America thinks that what Mike does is rad
Should of made the store an attraction, like crazy led lights , and stuff to grabs people attention, looks like a normal gas station
I have a coin of usa E PLURISUS quarter dollar egal liberty in 1981coin please reply me
If it's made during 1600's probably this is the Edo period Katana.
one of the Tokugawa collection of 15 swords delivered to US officers ua-cam.com/video/eK-yoZBddMU/v-deo.html
So authentic, knowledgeable … thanks for so much passion around your craft!
❤❤❤❤he is cute!
This clip could really use some tuning on the audio.
I have 2 swords like to know something about them.
Can someone please tell me how to get in touch with Mike Yamasaki I have a rare Japanese mask I would like to know more about ?
Rick Harrison Pog
Mike, my name is Leo Butten.. I may have something that would interest you.. I don't know for sure. How can I contact you?
This is the future
uploaded 3 days ago, got the app to check out HIS store and hes not a part of the app. Hes pushing an app he wont even be a part of ROFL. His store is listed but when you click it it says "this store is not a part of the network" its kinda gross to push a product you dont trust yourself.
Hope that's gonna bring more revenue.
Rick had to do it to em
⚔️
Best I can do is $50, and I'm taking all the risk.
I thought Paul Martin has won it to .
Why did you call what you are holding a sword when it's a naginata ? Most of the swords taken after WW2 were destroyed. I think you can get more and better swords with no issues directly for Japan. That is where I got all of mine. Thank you for your video sir
Who told you it was a naginata lol
Naginatas are treated as swords (or nihontou) in the Japanese art sense. The character for curved sword is literally in its name. Also, naginata blades (the most important part of the weapons) are sometimes used as wakizashi (short sword) and are wrapped and outfitted as such (Honebami Toushirou is a famous example).
Its a pity Mr Yamasaki felt the need to become part of a reality TV show that is fake for entertainment purposes only. Otherwise I would have taken him more seriousely.
Did you know that during WW2 the so called Honourable Japanese Soldiers Raped Dutch Women and Children, also Chinese Women and Children....this is what they did through out the War...THIS IS FACT....Im Grateful we Nuked them and Beat their asses...plus Karma's a Bitch ...we also took all their SO CALLED HONOUR SWORDS- THE SAMURAI SWORDS....WE SHOULD OF MELTED THEM DOWN.....THAT SAMURAI STUFF IS BULLSHIT BECAUSE THEY HAD NO FUCKING HONOUR....MY REPLY IS FACTS....BASED ON HISTORICAL EVIDENCE....KARMA WAS A BITCH HUH?
So much hate lol. Just so you know, samurai were not really existent surfing ww2. So don't question the honor of something that and nothing to do with the soldiers and atrocities they commited
WHHHHAAAAATTS UP! lol, I miss you guys...found this old stuff from looking up a springfield rifle...love you guys hope all's well. If you have an extra springfield, I' love to grab one. But otherwise, I hope you all are well and blessed. Edit: love the study of japanese swords and the medalergy knowledge!! I'm a senior mech designer for semi-conductor industry and I dig the metalergy and history of Japanese swords as well as others.
More like a candy closet
❤️
🙏
✝️
I know this is 5 years late but my local gas station has BETTER selection of candy than what I see here.
Does anyone have an idea of how much is a 13th century sword is worth??
Depends on the condition
Also depends on the smith. Also, if it is unsigned, you may want to dig deeper. The most famous swordsmith of the time, Goro Nyuudo Masamune, never signs his crafts, and so does his equally popular students Hikoshiro Sadamune and Soushuu Hiromitsu.
I love to see Rick’s vast collection of Breitling watches!
i am sorry on the show he said that a katana could cut thru tank barrels, i am sorry i dont trust this guys knowledge
60,000 smiths? My God. How will I ever learn....
I have a Nakago and would like to identify the signature. Could you help me?
Unfortunately General MacArthur was an ignorant son-of-a-b**** who didn't know the difference between his ass n his elbow he should have had his head chopped off with one of those samurai sword that he had stolen and or destroyed and I'm not just talking about the mass production one the ones that were family heirlooms this is my honest opinion how I feel and I'm in the American but this is how I feel cuz I think it was the most stupidest thing that he did, because he destroyed a country's history.
Great video, even if Blancpain and Zodiac beat Rolex to the punch when it comes to the first commercially available dive watch, but just like Smiths conquered Everest first, Rolex again had the better PR department.
I love candy but id there really that much money in a candy store?
"working" from noon to 4...
i have this i paid 2 bucks for it
Mike Yamasaki is as much of an "expert" in Katana as Biden is a competent President. XD Sorry not sorry.
He does this for a living lol. Appraises swords, repairs them, etc. He's a certified expert in terms of appraisal
Dude keeps saying Japanese Sword.......It's called a friggin Katana.....Can he even name all the components of the Katana?
Bruh where is this guy getting his "facts"? I'm not questioning the fact that he may be able to spot a traditional Katana in regard to a fake katana, as that's simple to do. But I believe this guy is coming up with the rest of his facts are coming out of his hind side. The disarming of Katana however is factual, and current standing of Katana is factual. My brain hurts listening to this guy.
He's saying japanese sword to cover katana, tanto, wakizashi, tachi, etc. Don't be stupid
Great little film. Love Mike and his honesty towards the items.
I chatted online with Mike and told him to do a UA-cam channel. This is a cool clip. To bad it is so poorly edited and produced with all the nonsense background noise
Thank you, Rick! You made going from water vessels to clock towers to pocket watches to wrist watches fun and informative. More videos like this, please! Tell us why there is such a fascination to manufacture wrist watches with a, "wow factor." The thinnest. The most complex. The most elegant. The toughest timepiece. More power to you and your Team.
Can you give me some information on some great Japanese magicians, locksmiths, and magic makers in Japan for 2020. But I'm especially interested in the locks and locking mechanisms in Japan. Thank you or Arigato Gozaimasu.
The one thing I'd argue that's missing from this is the role that the first world war had on the popularity of men's wristwatches
I have an old wrist watch. It is a mechanical watch. The brand is Packard. Is it possibly worth something? Anyone has any info about these? Thanks.
Hi
There is no such thing as a presidential watch/Rolex. The presidential name is for the bracelet. So you could have different watches with a presidential bracelet.
Europen can’t compite with American pocket watches ? Man ,comme one.All invention in horlogerie and additional functions was found in Europe. Check some names pls like A.LBreguet , Berthroud or Jacqur D’roz.
