I have a 2010 Premio I noticed the engine check light come up permanently on my dashboard. ..then I noticed VB that whilst driving the radio chips out like for a second and the steering wheel sticks during that same time too.( Scary indeed) I checked my technician and he told me that the valvematic need cleaning.
Hello, please if you can solve the problem I have on my Auris Toyota year 2014, after repairing my CVT box, 3 weeks later, I have the Engine check with the ESP on, after scanning i got 2 error codes, P1047 and p264, please tell me the exact fault, please give me a reply, thanks again
@@m.morininvestor9920 The ZR engine family is high on the list of reliability as long you maintain it. The only issue with these engines is the VVT gear screeching on cold starts.
@@m.morininvestor9920 '04 Matrix has the 1ZZ-FE engine, I'd say it's more reliable but they still had problems like oil consumption especially in earlier years however the VVT gear rattle problem didn't happen as often as it did in the 2ZR-FE, it became much more prominent after it came out in 2009. That's why there was a TSB on it shortly after.
The major difference would be Valvematic as well as incorporating VVT-i tech (which mainly deals with adjusting the timing of the valves), Valvematic also takes care of the valve lift control, depending on the driver's power requirements, so this provides a battery air intake into the cylinders
Yes. Except this one wont blow the valve seals and cost you $6000 to rebuild it.

@@NovaScotiaKevin those in series rocker arms are the core issue here - such a dumb idea. The intermed shaft just modulates the cam output in valvematic, simpler = more reliable

Is that a Mazda speed 3 at 1:50 wow
even a Mazdaspeed i think🤩
Great technology, lasts 75K on the clock, then a $3000 replacement costs is inevitable
Not more reliable than that??
My car is 150000 had zero problem
Mine just hit 160k miles not problems at all, am i one between a thousand? 😅
Thank you for sharing beneficial knowledge.
Awesome Technology, Thanks...
Is it reliable & tough?
Yes. But the non valve matic versions are tougher in the ZR engine family
@@michesbianan I have a Matrix 2004, where is it in terms of reliability. 280 000 km but I do take care of it. Oil change every 5000km

I came here to find out the difference between Toyota's old VVT-i, versus, the newer Valvematic... and I don't think it was clearly explained.

Immortal engine. Just watch out water cooler, can gone
Can I unplug the valvematic on my 2zr and get it to drive?
If u did it tell me what happens
Sound like if I block my nose and tape my mouth can I live ?

Valvematic does not use throttle body
Vtec basically
Not basically, rather more complete than vtec
Yeah, true. I believe it's because VTEC is patented
@@DJGlock of course vtec is patented and only honda can use it but nowdays for daily driving valvematic is better because it's continous unlike vtec
VTEC is out of patent now, anyone can use it.
VVTL-i was similar to Vtec, valvematic is more like BMW's valvetronic but simplier
This is why the engine is slow!!
True, bad throttle response👎
Just go on 4000rpm
@August, if you need a fast engine, go get a gtr or a lambo or some other high powered engine silly..
slow? my toyota wish zge 1.8 can beat honda stream vtec my friend 😂
Just mount turbo. Valvematic - more parts - more problems
Modul of Valvematic cost 1700 euro😢
How many hours Power in 1.8 v matic engine?
140hp
147
Плохая система постояно ломается
similar to the principle of VTEC / i-VTEC. but valvematic performance is not as good as VTEC / i-VTEC
Tell us more plz
So its like BMW valvetronic?
Yes it is very similar, but the mechanism itself is a bit more simple and more rev happy

Vvtli is better than valvematic
