He pumped it more excitedly in Zagreb World Championship 2006, as per he has written in his autobiography- A Shot At History.
He never knew at that moment that he won gold. He was pumping his fist for a 10.8.

13 Years On , still waiting for that Gold. It really show How diffcult it is to get the ultimate prize Only abhinav Bindra and Indian Hockey team have done it 8 time , 9 Gold medal in history of India still. I still remember watcing this scene on TV .

Bindra was very close in Rio Olympics too to win 🏅 ... Just last shot was not good enough.. Otherwise he would have surely won second Olympics medal.. Gagan Narang maybe India's No. 1 shooter but when it comes to olympics.. Abhinav Bindra is way ahead of him as he knows how to keep nerves in the biggest stage of the game... Should have played one more in Tokyo.. But unfortunately he retired...
This could be learn from him, how he is stable and calm mind, intense focus, keen observer full of dedication and confident for his victory🏆🏆 what a man, that is our incredible india produced such a great athletic,,,,

Abhinav Bindra will always have a special place in every Indian's heart forever and ever because he was the one who gave us a belief that we can also achieve the best at the world's greatest stage. I still remember when bindra won that gold and became the first Indian Olympic Champion there was a very unbelievable kind of happiness that everyone had coz no one ever thought that a shooter named Abhinav Bindra will set the Olympic stage on fire and will first qualify for the finals of 10meter air rifle event and then he will go on to win a medal and not just a medal but a gold medal. Honestly speaking it was unpredictable and unbelievable almost for every Indian. And suddenly the name Abhinav Bindra became a household name that every small kid including me used to chant everywhere. It was literally a very sweet and forever living memory of mine. Thanks The Legend "Abhinav Bindra". You have and will inspire billions😊😊

ya i do agree they don't have to physically train as nearly as hard, but it does take a lot of skill hard work to learn how to slow your hart beat down and shoot in between hart beats. while keeping the gun as still a possible and then shooting your other bullets in the same exact hole as the first one

India is the 2nd most populous nation on earth. Yet! Only Abhinav Bindra is the sole individual gold winner in the history of India's Olympics. What a tragedy? Why we can't find more bindras from our population of 121 crores? This is still a mystery to me. We need some serious very serious reforms in finding more competent world-class sportsmen and sportswomen who can bring more golds to India in future Olympics.

@Plasma08 match-grade "air rifles", or in this case, precompressed air rifles, work on a complicated mechanism. A high-pressure rated tank stores a mixture of air up to 1010 psi or more. Such high pressure is required to warrant a constant firing power between shot- and hence accuracy.
Barrels are hand-made, often button rifled or cold-hammering rifled.
The whole rifle is made up to the owners' specification. Lenght of pull, weight distribution, trigger lengh and weight, sights, whatever.
It's a Nice gift to all INDIAN before Independence Day

Hey Sandy(neelamsandeep) I agree with you,I respect the Bindra's hard work and his achievements and No one will forgot the achievements of SUSHIL and VIJENDRA,Boys from a small town of INDIA.Doing Hard Work in the conditions where there are few facilities and earning the gold/branze medal is really appreciable.I respect phelps and all other athletes who won medals for nation,He break the old records but still he is very down to earth. It is kind of funny how ergonomic everything is. In a real-life shooting you won't have all this and have it all set up. I realize this is just a sport though.
hey Doggsaredead, will they do better if they play airsoft guns? I mean playing GBBs. Becuz it has lower recoil and shoots a 6mm plastic calibur.

First support the existing athletes in India who are largely underfunded and undervalued because everyone is crazy behind one sport in India. Once things are set at the grass root level, India will manage to get many more golds in Olympics.

What's with all the paper covering their eyes....?I know when shooting an AR or pistol they always say use both eyes to aquire the target... why is this different?
Sometimes, one the dominant eye might not be on the side of your dominant hand. So if you are right handed, but your left eye is dominant, your left side will "take over" or react first. Hence if you cover that eye, you can shoot through your dominant side.

Maybe to an outsider sure, but to those who compete in shooting whether that be air rifle or .22 it is a very very different matter. We love what we do, if you talk to many you'll learn that its almost meditative, the level of focus you must achieve and use consistently as well as other all various factors regarding position, muscle control etc. etc. It is a highly complex sport and for those who do it, it is both rewarding and enjoyable.
@gunlover19112 I left my air rifle in the cabinet. I've gone a wee bit further than that lately, in regard to high power shooting.
And you may have MISTAKEN the user you were writing too... I was the one saying that airguns can KILL, you see?
