    I bought a stacked leather handle 102. It was a LL Bean exclusive at the time. It had LL BEAN etched on the blade. I returned it. Also had one in stag. Gave it to my son. The one I have now is the plain black phenolic.

    I bought the green one on a have-a-knives-day-event because it hit my eye.

    I just picked up my first 102 for elk hunting this fall. I am surprised how light the knife is. It weighs only about 4.6 oz with the sheath so its perfect for my pack. Even with the modern skeletonized ultralight knives by Buck this classic is still one of the lightest models in the lineup with a much better handle.

      I think it will serve you well. Do you know about the Buck 113? It was originally called an Elk skinner. Many people have raved about it's performance will dressing out deer. Thanks for watching, my friend.

      @@knifedelights7473 That looks like a nice knife as well although somewhat heavy. I was on the fence between the 105, 102 and 117 but ended up pulling the trigger on the 102 for its light weight. I already have a heaver Buck Pursuit on my hip and needed a more nimble and light knife for camp and in my kill kit. We are going to pack in and spike camp this year so I am trying to keep as light as possible.

    I recently picked up one of these knives for fishing and it has been great. Sharp right out of the box and surprisingly light for its size. I love it! I was wondering if you had any insight on why the older 102s had a blade that came straight out of the handle, but the newer 102s have a slight upward angle to the blade? I would love to know!

    • @knifedelights7473

      I don't know why the design was changed, but the early 102s, 105s, etc, had a slightly different design than the ones we buy today. I have done videos comparing the older with the newer. Thanks for watching, Ryan. And enjoy using your 102!

    Excelente colección de cuchillos Buck 102, pero debería ser complementada con el 102 encabado en Sambar (ciervo de la India), y por el 602 (en rigor un 102), encabado en material sintético termo inyectado. Ignoro si estos modelos fueron descontinuados, ya que los adquirí en Argentina hace mas de veinte años.

      @@knifedelights7473 En el caso de mi Woodsman Sambar 102, puede tratarse de una producción limitada respecto de la corriente, pero no corresponde a una edición limitada y/o numerada. Por otra parte, soy también poseedor de un Buck 118 Personal Custom, encabado también en Sambar. Este sí lleva sobre una mesa de la hoja, una leyenda indicando que es el ejemplar nro. 0449 de un total de solo 1000.

    • @knifedelights7473
      @knifedelights7473  4 місяці тому

      I think it would be a good GENERAL PURPOSE knife for hiking and camping. It's good to have a fixed blade with you, and this one is small and fairly lightweight, and yet big enough to use for a variety of purposes. Let me know if you get one, and what you think of it. Thanks for watching, my friend.
