Excellent demo! This may be the best Marshall Plexi in-a-box I've ever heard. Love the Hendrix & ZZ Top tones you're getting. Very juicy & organic for a pedal.
Hey Dan! You truly are one of my favorite gear reviewers on the Tube! Excellent chops, great attitude, and no-nonsense approach to gear demos! Really appreciate you brother, keep up the good work and God Bless! As for the Bogner Ecstasy Mini Blue...I have one ordered and can't wait to get my hands on it. I have the Ecstasy Red Mini and it is so versatile, and the tones you can get out of it are astoundingly organic and touch sensitive. Bogner has engineered pedals that truly play, feel and sound like tube amps.
I've had many, many OD pedals over the years. Including KOT. This little blue pedal may be the best, most versatile one ever. It inspires me to play. Thanks for the demo! We'll done!
I like what you say about the thick mids. That's why I play a Bogner 20th Anniversary Shiva as my main amp. I picked up this pedal too. Some guys find the Shiva too congested in the mids, but they tend to be hardcore metal guys. On my Shiva, I just use my Friedman Buxom to tighten it up while keeping that thickness. I love metal too, but I use other amps for that.
Cheers man! It’s a really cool pedal I have to admit. There is just so many drive / amp in a box type pedals out there now it’s hard to know where to start 😂
@@DanLeggatt very true! I currently own an Angry Charlie V3 from JHS, but I want something with less of a boxy sound, whilst retaining a certain thickness in the mids. I think this pedal could do the trick
Wow! Wow! Wow! Really like your playing and what a sound!!! Amazing! I don't Know if it's me or youtube but to my ears this mini Blue sounds excellent on each vids??? I can't Say the same for thé V1. Thanks man really like your démo!!!
Thanks so much for the kind words! I used to own the v1 bigger Blue. While it did sound good, this is much more useable and obviously smaller. If I had to choose, I would definitely go with this one 👍
@@DanLeggatt Hi Today i had my Blue mini. Thanks thies pedal is a beast! I think the sound is more bigger and more "AMP like" when the volume is beyond noon. Do you Know the mid Freq eq Factory serring on thé back?
Hey Dan, I know you've played the Friedman Small Box pedal... how does this pedal compare? If someone has the Small Box, would this be different enough to justify a purchase, or are they similar enough that money could be better spent on a different pedal?
This pedal is much thicker in the low mids, which could be good or bad depending on your taste and choice of amp. They are definitely voiced differently.
Unfortunately not. I only had both very briefly and wasn’t making videos at the time. The two are very similar in the core sound. The EQ on this one is more powerful and I think it’s overall more useable. The original Blue was cool but it was hard to get a useable sound from both modes (boost on or off). So it was quite big on the pedalboard for a one sound pedal.
@@DanLeggatt I got that part, what do I do with the screwdriver? Do I turn the screw itself or do I move the platform because that seems to move as well.
@@RyuKatolikeseaweed The white inner bit that you put the screwdriver into is the trim pot. It should turn like a normal pot. Doesn’t need much force at all.
Best demonstration of this pedal that I’ve seen. Great playing and great taste in tones.
Best demo of this pedal. Great job.
Ordered one, the sound I have always wanted!
I purchased this Blue version and I'm very happy with it. Thanks for the great demo, Dan.

Nice tone 😊
Just got one of these, I run it through a JTM 60 I can get identical tones to the Shiva I just sold and fantastic blues tones
I finally got this pedal
Great demo, thanks for posting!
Thanks for watching 👍
Nice Marshall tones😊
I love your playing dude. I might just buy this pedal!

I love the way you play!
Thanks so much man! Just checked out your channel, you’re a great player too. Love that Suhr!
Dan Leggatt you’re very kind, but I’m not in the same league as you. Thank you for subscribing; you didn’t need to do that.
Hey Dan if I already own a Marshall 1973X is this pedal just more of the same? Thanks!
Wow! Wow! Wow!

Very Good video!! This pedal Monster!
Cheers 👍 Definitely one of my favourites.
Sounds amazing, I need to set my amps slightly broken up to be able to get these perfect gain tones like you have yours setup.
It does make a difference. I find it just makes everything a little sweeter. You are hearing a little more of the amp in the tone.

My Small Box pedal got kicked off the board after picking up the Bogner. 😂
How does this pedal sound into a amp that already has a touch of gain going on?
this is going to replace my 2 switches version soon..
Hi Dan,
how does it work as a preamp directly into DAW with impulses? Thanks a lot
It’s not designed to and I don’t imagine the results would be ideal. However it may work.
Take my money!!
Simon West I’ll take the money but you can’t have the pedal 😂😂
Hi,the oldest bigger blue one is much better option compare to the mini?thanks
I like both, the bigger one is arguably more flexible.
Do you have a video comparing this over the first version?
Unfortunately not. I only had both very briefly and wasn’t making videos at the time.

@@DanLeggatt I see. Thanks! Guess I'll try this next. Thanks for the reply! 🤘😎
This guy can rip!
Most kind, thanks 🙏
What amp were you running this into?
Ah! sorry! Laney LC-30 (cracking amps .. had one and have always regretted selling it)
Can someone tell me how to use the mid sweep on the back?
I can't for the life of me figure it out.
Small screwdriver 👍
