This is still a really great pedal! BTW: I was very amused that your camera was heavily modulated by the audio through the magnetic field of the transformer 🤣
I have one of those for the studio and one of the best features is the variac switch. Also you can send the unit back to bogner and they will change the boost to a neutral setting with out so much difference.
@@GuitarStuffChannel You're welcome. Yes this demo helps. I have 3 very good and different sounding overdrive pedals, my fav, on my board but this seems to be very versatile, doesn't scoop the mids or lows, and does what my 3 can and alot more.
I got the Vertex SSS and love it, BUT......this Ecstasy Blue seems to amply cover the Vertex ground plus the grit and breakup with a tube screamer added. I guess the best comparison is with The Duellist by King Tone but the Bogner is easily $150.00 less. How do you like this Blue so far?
Thanks for taking your time to do this review, I've got a Carl Martin Hot Drive n' Boost myself and I think they are similar in a way. Where the gain ends I use the Friedman BE-OD for hairy 80s rock
I've bought the pedal a month ago and I've found it very dynamic and versatile, but I haven't found yet the right setting for the boost channel (for th e70's sounds like VH), the sounds it is always mushy. What dou you suggest? I've seen in the video you use the vol boost at zero right?
Hi there, I'm glad you like the pedal. I don't think you can get the EVH brown sound out of this pedal. I think it goes about as far as early 70s in terms of gain. You really need a different pedal for the high gain 80s. You could try scooping (turning down) the mids to see if that gives you an approximation or maybe boosting it with another pedal. That mush you describe is sort of a characteristic of this pedal, it has an open and loose feeling overdrive which is great at lower settings, but wouldn't work if maxed out. I also assume that you are hitting it with a phaser if you are looking for that EVH sound!
Hey there really would like to hear La Grange too.. I got a question: in that final ACDC riff you play into the amp slightly overdriven? that could be misleading I think... also unfortunately only the clean channel of my amp is working properly so that doesn't help!:) thanks for the demo.
Thanks for watching. No, the amp wasn't overdriven - it was the clean channel. You are right in saying that the les paul style guitar does sound more rocky even without the pedal. I'm thinking about buying the La Grange. Tried one in a shop, but didn't take the plunge (yet).
all you need is the clean channel on your amp with that pedal. They are boss. I have a badass sf bassman 100 with and the Bogner makes it sound unreal. Plexi mode is stupid awesome. Variac is the tits.
Firstly, that is the type of tone I was trying to achieve. That Jimi Hendrix 'clean with a little hair on' sound. I always think of it as a Marshall JTM but I could be wrong. Secondly, that is what the pedal is like - it seems to have very little gain in the lower half of the gain range.

Yes, I noticed that. Rock and roll!

Good demo 👍
Thanks so much for the positive comment. Hope it helped!

Just got one I’m excited
Rock on!

Does the blue have a mid hump like a tubescreamer?

Good point, there are a few ways of getting the sound in your head.
🤘😈🤘🔥🔥🔥

One of my favo pedals of alltime....I now have the mini blue it fkn rocks
Yes, it's a great pedal. I'd be interested to try the mini blue at some point.
@@GuitarStuffChannel yes but you don't really need the newer one....I miss the older one, can go cleaner then boost it.....
Merci beaucoup pour ce tuto
Great video - can I ask which amp you are using here?
Thanks. Tone king imperial 25th anniversary.

Great demo but hearing that ACDC riff over and over is driving me insane!
Thanks! I think.
Wait. What? AC/DC? Where?
Why is there almost no distortion in the first half of the video??

This pedal sounds awesome. Will you be reviewing the Ecstasy Red?
Thanks, I think it sounds pretty good. I don't have the red and no plans to buy one. I would like to try and compare the 'la grange' though.
Nice review... there is a Noisegate?
+Allan Ardon Thank you. No noisegate on it.
To be honest any mild overdrive could do the job, a TS or or AC Booster just to name a few.
There's no huge different when you turn the knob, do you put your looper pedal after the bogner ? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ha! Good point, but actually no. The 'plexi' channel is very low gain especially with single coils.
What amp are you using? What speaker?
colaboytje tone king imperial. Celestion creamback.
GuitarStuff Lovely sound!!!
I have a question. How do you not know how to play Highway to Hell?
Pauly Stax watch the rest of my channel...there are loads of classic guitar riffs I don’t know how to play
just bustin' ya a little. haha :-) I don't even play guitar.
