Ooh, don’t get me started on the joys of menopause. But here’s my stance: I had a certain body at age 2, a different body at age 22, and yet a different body at age 42. So I’m not surprised that I’m not the same at 62. That’s how it works.

Other than “petite friendly foods”, what also made me laugh about the April Whitney vid was 1) she advised to swap matcha for coffee WHILE WEARING a “but first, coffee” hat, and 2) the way all the tips are just listed out in the paragraph like they’re equal. Like, you could try drinking more water, or you could try THE DEEP UNCOMFORTABLE EMOTIONAL WORK OF CHANGING YOUR LIMITING BELIEFS???? okay i’ll put that in my planner, thanks girl 😂

As a teen I had a doctor called me overweight because of my BMI and my mom lost her mind. I’m 6 feet tall with hips and shoulders and real thighs. The doctor said I needed to lose 15 pounds. My mom was all, “Where? You point out where that 15 pounds is.” I still love her for that.
BTW who’s see Ilona Maher? She’s a gorgeous rugby player whose USA team just won a bronze medal. She has a BMI of 29.3 and rocks it like it’s hot, telling everyone to “Look me straight in the shoulders and say it again!”
I wish I had her as a role model growing up because she’s great. So great to know of her now. She’s my spirit animal.

Side note: I called out a "trainer" on Facebook saying that bear crawls instead of planks got rid of her fupa, and I like a good citizen pointed out you cannot spot reduce fat....and someone actually had the nerve to tell me that's not what she was saying, this person told me some people just don't have the vast vocabulary to say this exercise strengthens your core, so I pointed out again that the headline of the video was literally "shrink your fupa".....I fear we will never be rid of this crappy misinformation and thank the goddess above for Justina!

Ive gotta say i really like your videos. I find them to be amazing for introducing myself to the topics and issues within the fitness community, especially the fitness sphere targeting/involving mainly women. As a guy who has been involved in the male dominated athletic and bodybuilding fitness sphere for 4+ years, I rlly have learned alot about what women are going through and what "fitness" looks like for alot of yall. its like an entirely different culture almost. Ive already seen how it has helpd me navigate conversations with women friends abt fitness, and when i become a pt how it will help cross that experiences barrier. but its weird, i feel like i know so much o what yure talking abt now i dont even need to watch it lol, i know exactly the topics which will come up and your rebuttals. its weird. either way, thank you for your videos, they have been invaluable to me.

Loved this video. I've just watched the fupa bit again because your reaction just had me laughing my head off. Now on a serious note, these videos just confirm and reassure me that I'm doing great without Tiktok. I find its content almost insulting and extremely triggering. Instagram is a bit better but not much, at least to me. I used to follow you on Instagram too but then I would get suggesgions for fitness content I don't appreciate and that is mostly designed at glorifying a certain look/physique/wellness lifestyle... Nope, it doesn't do me good, so I stay away from those media and I am happier. That's why I enjoy this series so much! Thank you for your work, as always!❤

What annoys me the most about the whole FUPA discussion (apart from the name because it's just a horrible fucking name for a normal body part) is that most people don't even know what or where the FUPA would be. It's not your lower belly, babe, it's your pubic mound. your MONS PUBIS. It generally consists of fatty tissue - some gals have more, some have less. And guess what: no specific workout will reduce the fat there, because targeted fat loss does simply not exist :)

@@christinas2188 I really like Move With Nicole. She is not doing strict, classic Pilates. Her workouts are more of a Pilates/Barre mix. But personally I love her style and think her workouts are safe and effective. If you want something a little more traditional, try Lottie Murphy or Margaret Elizabeth. They are a bit slower pace and definitely stick to more traditional Pilates exercises and the principles. Hope that’s helpful ☺️

This suggestion about the female body and emotions makes me really angry. I went through a depression 3 years ago and this was so horrible and stressful that I lost so much weight and maybe there were some abs to be seen.... well I just did not care because I felt so horrible!!! And since then I literally do not care about stuff like this because I am healthy now, put on some weight, I am feeling great in my female body and even startet doing karate during menopause.... Think about all the wonderful things woman could do if we just did not care how our body looks!!!
