Really a bold - an annoying move to include adds in a paid product, so thanks for this!
If they're going to force ads in our faces, they should provide the OS for FREE!
Well IT'S FREE. You can use Windows 10/11 forever (only downside will be a watermark for activation).
This would make netflix to slame
Because if they get sick of ads in windows they quit for good
Who wants to watch more ads
Microsoft think is would be good to destory ad plans
Thanks for the no-BS tutorial! Very refreshing
Concise, simple. Thanks!
Thanks for this Brett 💯💯💯 although would love if you could do more on the default browser and notepad cheers
We also added some entries to the HOSTS file. Windows does not need to be phoneing home until I give it permission and then only to check for updates.
hardcore agree its cumbersome and not entirely user friendly
Good tutorial, Many thanks, Good job 😇👍
Nice tutorial. I hate stuff that just happens. Strikes me that more and more often these days we're getting paid for products that contain advertising.
tyfs😀

Thank you for another Great Video 👍 Off topic question. Is there anything better than Google Maps. I just tried "Here we Go". This is not the app to use if you're driving and your passenger is a Stroke Survivor. Which would mean I have more going on, while driving than most. As I mean earlier Google Maps isn't much better. Is there anything else you would recommend. Again thank you 👍
Brett, Thanks for posting this video.
Great Video, thank you for putting this together !
5 Thumbs up. What are the odds the new ads in the notifications will continue anyway?
Yet another informative & useful video. Thanks Brett! 👍👍
Great video. Thank you for this topic.
Honestly if this is how MS is going to be, I'll reinstall Windows 7 instead. Might as well use the last GOOD version of Windows if I have to use it at all. There are ways to stay safe even on an old os like that
I still use Windows 7
Thank your for this video. I could go on a tangent, but in my opinion, it's disgusting that they basically have ads set on default, on your personal computer on an Operating system you paid for. like get off my screen dude!
Very much appreciated! Now to find out how to stop Dell's crap from bugging me too.
OK have done most of these. But Mr Brett - is there a way to stop MS Edge continually asking me if I want to have it as my default browser? As a personal preference I don't want it to be default, I say no, and it lays off for a couple of weeks or so but then I get asked again. And I get asked everytime I have had an Edge update . . .
Unfortunately the answer is no. MS is extremely persistent in trying to get people to switch to Edge.
@@BrettInTech As I feared. Thanks for the reply. And for all the good stuff you put out there.
It seems they are desperate to get people to use the browser.@@BrettInTech

Well there is a way
Google Chris Titus tool.
It can get rid of edge all together
Thank you for this. It's outrageous and so greedy
can you tell me how to block adds on i phone
Useful trick.
Thanks
Nice video. Family, culture, and beautiful nature all for us to appreciate.
Fug yeah Brett! Another helpful video for the boys
Great video! I have done all that.
Whilst writing, another thing that annoys me in Windows is File Explorer. I would like to see a much simpler arrangement where only the drive letters (and possibly Onedrive) appear in the left hand pane. Is this possible? To me, all the other Windows-generated folders are both unnecessary and confusing.
been a while since i opened this menu, good reminder.
when i open pdf with edge, there is an adobe acrobat water mark, how to get rid of that?
How to resolve issue with Task Manager's 100% Disk Usage on Windows 11?
I switched to linux and use windows 11 as a VM when I need acess to Apple Music and torrent downloading. Its a great move.
Does any of these work on Windows 10?
Yes
It's absolutely disgusting for MS to put ads in a product I already paid for. The greed knows no bounds.
How do I feel about MS including ads, and tracking in their premier OS? It's direct and substantial breach of user trust, served up in a semi-obfuscated way, as your video is a witness to. They spread out the off switches so users have to go to different places in the OS to shut off what is fundamentally the same thing [think changing default apps in Windows 11 as well]. I'm guessing this is a psychological move that works. As in - Make it difficult for the average user to find things, and they might give up, increasing our profits. Windows 11 is a dumpster fire OS. I've used Windows as my main OS since Windows 3.1. I've also used Linux for near the same time period - from the Mid 1990s. This is the first time I've seriously considered, and probably will, split my track-able activities on Windows 11, over to Linux. If MS is willing to semi-obfuscate the security settings that turn off ads and tracking, what's to say they aren't doing it anyway, in some other way? Paying fines for getting caught is a drop in the bucket for them. They've fundamentally given up on users.

Thank you for another Great Video 👍 Question for you. In some of the comments a few are talking about Linux operating system. I have never used Linux. Is this a good alternative to Microsoft, I currently Windows 10 system. And I am looking to buy a new Laptop. My old Sony is almost dead. I 've had her for about fifteen years. Out of all the systems I have had access to. She been the Best. Back to my original question. How is to use between Microsoft and Linux. Is it difficult to learn ? Again thank you 👍
In short there are many great Linux distros that are user friendly like Mint, Ubuntu, Zorin, etc... A downside for many people is some software is not made for Linux, but there are good alternatives for almost every program.
wait... file explorer has ads?...
Windows 11 has ads? Guess it's Linux only after I can't keep 10 any more.
Holy geez. Then this is the last Microsoft product
Tesla is next!
Thank goodness im not on Windows 11. Still on 10. When the force update comes ill just go back to manjaro i guess 😂
Linux Mint is what I mainly use, but I have a Windows gaming pc. I tested Manjaro for awhile and it's pretty nice.
Sorry windows The Church of Neckbeards already converted me to the dark side of linux
Always install world english version of windows and you will never see any ads or crappy tiktok software in the first place
Step 1: Switch to Linux :)........................... sorry couldn't resist :).
🤣🤣🤣
I was about comment it 😂
Yeah...sorry. some of us like full support for gaming :)
I was gonna say this. I'm proud of all of you .
Its not for everyone, don’t forget that
Bro any advice on how I can activate my windows 11 for free?
I disabled all ads, I switched to Linux
Wait, there are advertising inside Windows 11?
🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
Linux Mint doesn't have this problem...
Window 11 having issues due to security issues
I'm downloading preview inside window 11
I've never seen ads. My issue is not being able to put the taskbar at the top without a third-party utility and now having to verify opening a link from my Favorites menu ever since the latest update. Who in their infinite wisdom decided this was the best way for Windows to function?! 😠
Lets put it this way. I am sticking to 10 for now and I am learning Linux.
Just installed Linux forget dealing with all the B.S that Windows Operating system gives you these day's and it's all useless 😑
im on the verge of ditching windows for linux
I have the perfect solution to ads in a product that I BOUGHT AND PAID FOR... Linux
Doesn't these settings reset with an update?
Never watched your channel before, nice videography, nice oration and scripting and easy to follow instructions.
Using windows 10 is an absolute pain and it appears that Windows 11 is eager to be an even bigger harassment.
I ended up moving to Linux a few weeks ago, really shocked how they keep pushing the envelope with ads and telemetry; slowly normalizing it. I can bet there will soon come a point there won't be any way to turn this stuff off, at least the options are there.
I bypassed all of this by stubbornly refusing to "upgrade" from Windows 7.
Simple solution if you hate this downgrade back to Windows 10 and install Adguard.
I will rather watch an ad for a laptop than for feminine pads or hemorrhoids cream 😂😂😂😂😂
or just go back to windows 10. windows 11 has no real added value. just lots of extra annoyances.
Which makes macbook look better than theirs own service
I don't understand the obsession with personalized ads. You can't avoid ads in general, so why make it show generic ones that you probably won't like instead of personalized?
Everything about Microsoft is very annoying. Dislike immensely !!
