Windows used to have a feature to synchronize folders, it was called 'briefcase' but no one understood how to use it
100% right
100% correct
I haven't watched "you need these tools' vid for years. I got sick of seeing the same short list of sponsored and often crappy products. I was surprised after clicking on this out of boredom, to see a list of genuinely useful things. Thanks.
Agreed! 💯
Except with the South African accent, I keep subconsciously expecting to get bit by a Mamba... but excellent suggestions.
I've been using Everything for quite a while now and it finally gives me what I have needed for years. There is a newer version that is not released yet (alpha? beta?) that also has the ability to search within files. You can also put the file type selection as a drop-down at the right of the search box. I love this tool!!!
Liron, you keep getting better and better each time I watch you. It's not like you are smarter than the next guy, it's that you don't talk down to us. Keep it coming!
100% agree with you!!
Every one of these utilities will be useful to me. Thank you Liron!
Love how simply and directly you present your information. It's wonderful to not have to wade through a ton of non relevant information to get to what is important. Great work!
#1 Tech Guy - I am so glad you make these videos! They are some of the most helpful on the internet.
You Rock!
As always, Thank you! I will be downloading most, if not all, of the utilities you have shown us. Very helpful!
i suggest wizz tree over treesize personally
May I know the reason why?
Treesize better
@@Wangsiumif I remember correctly, Wizz Tree is faster and provides graphical interpretation of files. I haven't use them both in a while.
I use WinDirStat, it has the same tree view and a block view
@@Wangsium in my experiance, Wiztree is way faster and uses less resources. its also cheaper if you need multiple licences. hope that helps sorry it took so long.
hey Liron, nice video once again, such useful info...also I just realized, you hit 1 mil subscribers...congrats, and all the best to the next mil 🙂
Winaero Tweaker is another good one. I've used LockHunter for years! Love it.
I have watched several of your videos and my laptop runs so much better! Thank you Liron!!
StartAllBack for Windows 11 is a life saver. A lifetime licence is cheap too. Thank you for your videos 😊
It is worth mentioning that some antivirus/security software identify password revealing tools as "hacktools" and automatically delete/quarantine them. This is usual, for example, in corporate laptops where you are not free to manage the antivirus exceptions yourself.
Even and ever MORE useful - thanks so much, Liron!
Liron, you are the man. Thanks for all of your useful tips. Thanks for everything that you do for the Windows community.
I appreciate that!
Thanks Liron. As always, great tips.
That everything tool is like godmode , thanks man 😁
Enjoy it -
@@LironSegev Can u just take over the OS that ms threw out and mae it great please so we can take it 1 step further and flush them both Apple AND ms Companies down the toilet w out leaning on Linux?
I’ll check out some of the others; already using *Everything* and it is awesome. I tinker with video editing, so I have multiple drives of sizes ranging from 500Gb to 8Tb internal, and 1Tb to 4Tb external.
*Everything* pulls up results immediately as I type from any of them. It’s absolutely awesome.
Thank you for the very informative and useful video. I will download some of the mentioned software as not all are of use to me but several, hopefully, are.
Hi Liron ive been using Everything for many years now and it`s one of the greatest tools out there.
great tools and some I already knew. Thank you for sharing your video.
after windows xp, the ship started sinking and bloating - every day is a Linux day closer
I think the final version of Win 7 was the only win OS better than XP. Only problem is that if you have new computer you won't be able to find drivers.
I began dual-booting out of lack of confidence. Now, I am debating just taking Windows off the machine altogether. The bloatware that waste system resources and Copilot (which reinstalls no matter what I do) with every update makes me think Microsoft uses more of my machine than I do.
I Enjoyed Vista (Just needed a Gaming PC to run it) and Loved Win 8. 7 was ok. 10 is a lot better now, 11 is poo
LOL! Youre so funny... why don´t you do it?
Remember to try Linux on 'live' media first.
Consider having Linux on a separate drive (not partition) from Windows.
Classic Shell is a Must.
What is Classic Shell?
@@gotbordercolliesReplaces the new Windows look with an older style that we are all used to. Windows hate this app and often try to stop it running.
@@WesternAustraliaNowAndThen Thanks I will check it out
Careful with Classic Shell - most of the time its fine but I’ve seen it pooch windows systems its installed on (Both Win 8 and Win 10) . Its nice, but its an overlay that can affect things badly if/when you try to remove it.
Valuable information as always. Thanks, Liron!
👍👍👍👍👍 That is an awesome list of tools. Best list I have ever seen. Thanks.
Thanks Liron. More of these recommended software videos please!
Hi Liron! My first time commenting, much of your content has been very useful to me in the past. These utilities are great and will simplify tasks I have been doing the hard way for years! I haven't used 2 of them yet, but the other three I tried did exactly what you said they would and FAST. I found some MP3's I had made and couldn't find (I am a musician) Thanks friend!
Appreciate you 🔥
@@LironSegev I just found out that you can drag and drop MP3's from Everything right into folders in File Manager! Total bonus! thanks again!
Excellent video. These are great utilities.
TreeSize free was EXACTLY what I was looking for!!! Thank you, Liron
Glad it's useful. Been using it for years.
Thank you Liron.
First two tools can be replaced by Wiztree, also free. It is very fast as it reads the MFT for local disks, doesn't iterate through subfolders. It can show tree view, graphical view, list of all files (to search), list files by extension (eg to find out movies or .log are taking up too much space) etc
as a long time ms user going back to dos and win3.1 i have to say:
yes. yes it does
There's File Locksmith by Microsoft that does very similarly what Lock Hunter does. Part of Microsoft Power Toys, which includes dozens of great utilities.
This. Power Toys is a must-have app. FreeFileSync is also a better sync app.
Thanks Liron, the everything search tool is amazing!! I remember magic jelly bean from the old windows XP days when people (not me 😉) used to "share licences" and had to find the CD key!
whatttt? that never happened....right? 🤪
What's DDL, Katz, Warez, Keygen, Oscar and WinRAR? 😮😂 Have no idea what you're talking about 🤔
Some of these look pretty interesting. I will def use the search one but the others do not need seem overly necessary, but in a pinch could work nicely.
THANKS A LOT.... about last discussion about product key...
Thank You! I found use for 3 of the files you previewed. Nice job.
Awesome
Excellent video, thank you ! ! !
2brightsparks which version admin oruser?
Thank you Liron. Some great utilities.
Glad you like them!
Thank you so much for your insight and videos
Thanks thats exactly what I was looking for, very helpful
Appreciate you being here 🔥
I love your videos! Thanks!
me too!
Fantastic post! Really appreciate these tips!!
Thanks for being here 🔥
Appreciate this useful info Liron. Watching from the PHILIPPINES.
Glad it was helpful!
Hey Liron, This was an excellent video. One problem I have tackled a number of times is duplicate files finder. This should be built into Windows. Do you have a favorite to mention? Thanks.
I like Dupeguru, it works very well for me. There are more advanced programs if you want to search for files that have metadata that you want to ignore. Jpg files may have comments embedded which it can ignore. But not as easy to use as dupeguru
Thank you dear Liron for sharing this video. Some great utilities. Shalom !
You are very welcome
I Love Everything. I should have made a video about it years ago. Tree size and the others are great too. Thanks for the video!
You are so welcome!
Absolutely great!
Liron the gift that keeps on giving , much love
Appreciate you
I have had "Everything" for years reminds its great - it was not free in the beginning it was $100 a year - its the same as Windows XP search engine I LOVE IT!!!
I only discovered it after it was free :)
I've had it longer than that, I think. I was thinking I ran it back when I lived in Ohio, 23 years ago, but it must have been here, because I certainly wasn't running NTFS back then. I think I was running a portable version too, which may have been prelicensed. :/ It's only been in the past few years that I've actually run it as an installed program.
Had no idea it was a paid app initially. Huh. I'm surprised MS hasn't bought them out and integrated it into Windows.
Great useful information. Your video came up on my feed and I am happy I watched it. I wasn't aware of these handy apps. New sub here.
Appreciate you being here 🔥
very helpful, thank you.
Thanks as always.👍
I understand it being hard to find your product key, unwanted people can get it and use it for themselves..
I agree with everything else..
Thank you for sharing...
Been using Everything for years but you did show me a few interesting apps I was unaware of. Thank you
I've used treesize for years, fabulous tool
I love Process Lasso, gives CLI type of controls for your cpu but puts it on a GUI. The graphs are better than windows own process/task manager
Another useful/informative video. Thank you for all your videos.
Thanks for being here
The Everything tool has been with me for over ten years and is an absolute mainstay.
I tell whoever I come across but no one bothers to see the light.
Amazing! Thank you
I used to use spacemonger but it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to detailed for drive space details. This one looks handy. Lockhunter will also be useful. Happy they have portable versions. I work in IT and whilst it's not always necessary to need these things, the need does arise on occasion.
Great video Liron. I have used "Everything" for several years - it is utterly fantastic. Everything is an example of how computers would run if they were programmed properly. I have a 1 TB SSD and Everything handles it like it's a 32mb thumb drive. It literally reacts to every keystrokes or mouse click as you make it. Great recommendation!
Couldn't agree more!
And it can search the contents too if you need to search that. Sometimes I've forgotten what I called something (or even any piece of it)
There's also a tool to replace the start search with it. On a GitHub somewhere,
Thanks very much for a great video about useful tools. Straight to the point without waffling, 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Appreciate you being here 🔥
Very helpful tips and no bs
To keep it short: thanks! Liked & subbed
Thanks Liron for the awesome utilities! Do you happen to know of a utility that works similar to Everything, but can search for content?
Thank you for posting 👍👍
No problem 👍
Very good utilities!! I agree, Windows makes everything more complicated then it needs to be.
wow that sync is pretty powerful
Great bk up utility. Im still using sync toy, old but it works. Will take a look at this. For image bk up i tend to use rescuezilla or Macrium reflect free. Great vids. Thank you.
Tell us how to keep important videos on cloud storage with an encryption method.
Great info. Thanks!!👍😎
Any time!
I've used "everything" for years, it has always been awesome.
Yeah spot on.
Perfect "SyncBackFree" Perfect - Exactly what I needed Thank You Thank You Thank You, a thousand Thank You's.
You're welcome!
@@LironSegevRespectfully, I did not see this listed in your show notes... So I am also glad you mentioned it in the video.
@johnniequinn3215 eh...it's in there
These are bloody good, thanks Liron! I thought this was going to be a video about Powertoys, which is awesome too. Microsoft have oddly made some really good programs they don't include in windows. They made a superb panorama creation too for photos called microsoft ICE but I'm not sure they even support it now. They nerfed it a bit too, had a tonne of options for making your panorama, but it's still great
true - they have great tool that are not part of the Windows installation. PowerToys is def one.
Thank you!
Thanks Liron
I know the Product Key finder will trigger Windows Defender (as will pretty much everything from Nir Soft, but I digress...). At least the WiFi key display is allowed. Keeping that one. I usually use Nir Soft (it's in a passworded ZIP file, so you have to set an exception for the file and the folder you're installing it in...), and this is better.
What a great video, thanks!
Appreciate you 🔥
Excellent.
Hi Liron. I’m a big fan and I love the content. Can you please make a recommendation to me for a duplicate file finder for Windows 11? I have made such a mess of my file system. Appreciate it.
Liron, I'm a novice still using windows. I generally don't mess with what is working. Do you have a general basic recommendation for home PC security? I'm inundated with ads for anti-virus, security and VPN programs, and I frankly don't know what to believe. Much thanks if you can help.
Thank You. Thank You.
Thanks Pal!
@2:41 - I used to use a handy program called Disk Data for this process. Worked a treat!
saludos de mexico, muy bien muchas gracias
Thanks, you’re the man!
Glad to help!
Nice one Geeza. 👍🏼
Everything is the best piece of software
Excellent !
Many thanks!
Hi there! Could you please share some info as to how can I connect multiple Bluetooth headphones (wireless) to a single audio source (laptop etc.) for Listening activity in a language lab? I need to have the technical know-how to help and teach students. Thanks!
THANKS
COOP
...
I use the Everything tool every day. It's also lightning fast!
Thanks!
Appreciate you being here 🔥
Hi Liron does the Everything search for words within text/doc files? If not would you know which search tool does this
?
The backup program, if malware encrypts or deletes your file/s, will it not also do the same on the other sync drives?
It could if that disk is connected. It makes sense to save your data to an external disk that you then disconnect.
Awesome Video..!
This type of content is gold, even for a engineer like me.
Appreciate you
Thanks for the information 👍, anyway do u know software to find similar files?
Look for Duplicate Cleaner app
@@LironSegev thanks
