I have taken Astaxanhtin taken for 17 years and i have seen only positive things. Its a strong antioxidant. If i slept not well i would take 8mg with my meal and feel refreshed. Muscle pain it reduces too and never affected my workout negatively. I never used a sunscreen at 40 and people think im 23 to 27 and look younger than my siblings, so it can't be just genes, and i have not a great diet . Its best combined with omega 3 fish oil for synergy
@padmeshsethuraman5617 I took small dose 1mg but in the last 5 years I took 4mg 8mg I would not recommend more than that long term . Occasionally took short term 12mg when I feel aches and slept not well or just felt not right. It works best with omega 3 fish oil 1000mg . If you add Long Vida Turmeric around 400 to 500mg even more potent the effect for muscle aching especially. The combo or on its own its one supplement I recommend. I started anti aging supplements around the age of 20 and my diet was never perfect nor was fit at gym always ..I just avoided alcohol and smoking and snacks . I ate usually once or twice a day rarely 3.
I’m 63yo and just recently as of about 4 months started to notice my libido disappearing and morning wood non-existent. I stumbled onto this vid due to splash page “live longer but reduce your sex drive”. I have never heard of Astaxanthin before watching this video. About me: I lift weights 6 day a week after working as a boilermaker\welder. My diet is predominantly beef or lamb with a little fruit. I am in excellent condition for my age. I also do semen retention but I have always had a problem with hair loss especially if I lift weights. Now since whatever happened to me 4 months ago, my hair has stopped falling and done the reverse and growing at a rate it used to when I was a kid. I’m still very strong at the gym which to say my performance there hasn’t changed. I wish I knew what was going on as my testicles are smaller than they usually are. The only thing I think I can put it down to is recently the Australian govt has allowed/forced some dairy companies to put Borvae into cattle feed to stop them producing methane. This is turn goes into the meat and milk which we consume. According to an FDA document, this compound’s side effects are sterility and cancer. Now I’m worried as the only source of milk was in my takeout coffee in the mornings.
@@jenxsj3902 4 years ago I was like you but after seeing several of my mates go down just after being jabbed, I see things differently. These are pure acts, not conspiracies. MSM has already reported on it but let out the part about the FDA report.
I was expecting a lot from this channel but unfortunately very often it does not come across as having a serious science-based approach. This video is a great example.
I feel like astaxanthin gave me a boost during exercise. I’m not sure if it was increased strength, but I noticed I didn’t get tired as easily as normally.
The argument about the salmons ability to swim upstairs is just stupid. They could have an adaptation to compensate any negative effect. To even argue like this is very unserious
Finally someone else is addressing this issue, I stopped astaxathin many months ago after discovering its effects on DHT, which I still need being 40. When I'm 70, I'll restart taking it
How long does it take for your hair to start falling off? I’m 50 and started taking astaxanthin 3 months ago. A couple years ago I was taking Krill oil supplements which contained asthaxanthin and I was taking that for about 2 years. I still have a thick head of hair. Currently, I’m taking 12g of astaxanthin daily, btw.
Is it really necessary to use modified food starch, corn starch, stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, titanium dioxide, etc? You couldn't make a cleaner product? It's a shame you go through so much effort to make a pure astaxanthin only to then mix it with impure ingredients. Kind of defeats the purpose.
Dave repeats himself rather than go beyond rather simple info. For example, Activation of NRF2 could mean a wide range of things but little enhancement info is provided by Dave.
Great video and thank you! I’ve taken Ax for over a year and noticed a slight decrease in libido but it was transitory. I take the weekends off and only take it Monday through Fridays. I’m on Test Cy and am 64yo for context and workout five to six days a week with a normal BMI
Great information, so an excellent start into the new year. I have been taking AX for 3 months now. But due to earlier info by you, Dr Brad S and other I always skipped it on days with exercises, so just took it on the resting days. I might try it differently now and take it each day. I saw no impact on libido etc.
Thank you for all your work in these videos, Rimon. I guess it will ultimately depend on your goals as there are no definitive solutions, only trade-offs. Some DHT can be a big motivator or drive both in and outside of the gym. Fwiw, I've also enjoyed the discussion around your wife's recovery. I, too, had a stroke and have done many self experiments over the last 25 years.
Yes as you said it looks like a tradeoff. There is a reason almost all the body builder and big guys are bald. It's a personal choice-for me, I’d rather keep my hair on my head! 😊
Interesting. So, it could be that the reduction of DHT, despite having no effect on testosterone, is sufficient to decrease libido. It's a personal choice-for me, I’d rather keep my hair on my head! 😊
for some men dht levels don't really affect their libido for myself I noticed with my supplements that lower dht does affect my labido. Tumeric + astaxanthin
Astaxanthin is great for overall health and joints and skin and eyes, but it def affected my sex drive. I've had friends who tried it and said the same thing. It's also the only supplement that really made me feel better in the wildfire smoke.
I saw an add for from a company called Junkless and they advertise 500mg per yellow colored capsule 500mg!! NOT mcg no actually 500 mg - I found it hard to believe as most are just 4mg or 10 mg or 12 mg anybody run across them or anything like it ?
@@WellnessMessiah I trust your judgement - it says made in America & china named one of their cities America to trick buyers - I need to find made in the USA although even then they often say from globally sourced ingredients. I appreciate your reply and time, thank you
If it lowers dht then I'm curious what it does to estrogen levels. Maybe a small amount of an aromatase blocker may be beneficial for males I'm suspicious of the claim that it doesn't affect the oxidative benefits of exercise. More research is needed.
"I'm suspicious of the claim that it doesn't affect the oxidative benefits of exercise." Same thoughts, and the "salmon argument" doesn't convince me :-)
This guy is dishonest. He flips a legitimate question about blunting internal response to oxidation (hormesis) and blabs about salmon. 10:00 NO! Professional sportmen take antioxidants, cold plunge, etc. when they want to recover during several days of sports events. But at the same time they don't grow their strength/endurance/VO2max capacity. This happens during off-season and requires cutting oxidants, cold plunges, etc. 13:00 did they measure VO2max change or any endurance capacity? Of course astaxanthin will reduce CRP. This is not what we are talking about.

No david. In the full podcast coming in 3 weeks🙂 I ask him how he stores it and the storage research. I assume you're subscribed 🙃
So can I stop the dutasteride? Just replace it with astaxatin?
dutasteride cuts DHT almost to zero percent. No natural ingredient has even remotely that potential.
