The thwipping hands aren’t exactly inaccurate. When he was bonded with the symbiote his webs did shoot from the back of his hands, but after he separated from the symbiote Peter continued to wear a cloth black suit with his standard web shooters. Thus the need for and inclusion of thwipping hands.
This right here is 100% correct. I grew up with the run where Peter uses the cloth black suit instead of the symbiote one and he does thwip in it.

Exactly. It was the cloth version black cat made for him as a gift since she thought he looked more attractive in black. He refused to wear it since Mary Jane had severe ptsd from venom, but he still kept it since Black Cat worked really hard on it. Luckily, he started wearing it after she eased up, and has worn it in some of his most popular storylines including Kravens Last Hunt and Back in Black. He still wears it from time to time to this day
Preordered the first one and was so hyped to preorder this one! Definitely a must cop for any Spider-Man fan 🕷
Besides the original Retro Spider-Man, this Retro Symbiote Spider-Man will be the holy grail of action figures 💯

Peter did wear a cloth black suit afterwards. So, the web shooting hands can fill in for that version.
Ah yeah, Black Cat made like 3 cloth suits with that design for Peter as a gift.

Ohhh he’s beautiful.
The white paint coverage seems to be to the same level as the retro venom. It’s so thick and clean that you could be fooled into thinking it was sculpted on!

Also I haven't seen other comments but the reason this figure has twipping hands because it is not the symbiote but the costume Black Cat made for Peter - the box is wrong!
You can see that the back of his hands do not have the black dot where the web would come out of if it were the symbiote. :)
Also remember that after the symbiote left Peter he kept the black costume for a while, so the thwhip hands make sense.
Do you have a tutorial on how to make those custom webs, they look amazing!
Maybe you could use tin foil. Make it really thin by twisting them over and over then paint them white maybe

Hands a way cheaper than a brand new head sculpt lol.... that being said, the retro toy didn't have an unmask head but it did have a spider webbing mechanic.

Had to pause the video just to clear something up: Peter at some point in comic continuity wore a fabric version of the Black Csotume, so having the web shooting hands in there makes sense for comic fans

Since it has thwip hands and since none of the hands have dots on the back, the figure itself is clearly a black-costume Spider-Man and not a symbiote Spider-Man, despite the label on the packaging.
I was wondering about the dots too, just didn't think it was a big deal to mention

His soles aren't supposed to be blue. It was colored that way in the comics because of the limitations of printing back in the day. If they weren't printed that way, then the soles will just blend in with the rest of the body when drawn in that pose. It's one of the reasons why I didn't get the Mafex version despite putting the regular and comic versions on a pedestal.
You're right about the comics, but I like how it looks on the Mafex.
@@alandoane9168 true. The Mafex one does look great. I debated long and hard (what she said) on getting it.
Glad I wasn't alone on that. The blue really throws off the outfit (as well as the shading not being present on the chest), and I'm glad I preordered this one and not the Mafex one.
Honestly I don't mind the blue feet on the mafex one unless its blue plastic and the black scratches off then I'll be pissed cause that's gonna look really bad. But this one I'm really not liking the way the joints are done on the legs yah it works with some figures very well but this it looks terrible but oh well it'll have to do for now since it's a cheeper figure one that hopefully is coming out at the start of this year.

@@Bozoalert82 Well they're hitting store shelves right now, I've found Hammerhead in a couple of different targets. But outside of hunting you can pre-order on Big Bad Toy Store or a Game Stop website or something and then wait for them to ship later .

Sold out as far as I know. Got him from Robo Robo, only sold in sets
I pre-order this guy from game stop. My mafex one won't be out for a while so hoping there are no delays. The only black spiderman I have is my mezco one but the fabric suit already ripped so I took it off and now I just have a solid black spiderman with white on the hands and face. Had to use the mafex feet from my knock of venom but no problem since he has two extra ones.
Just so you know, the black suit never had blue shading. Its because the black suit is so dark, it is iridescent and turns blue when light hits it. I have a really old Spiderman Origins Black Suit figure that does this, and it's a really cool detail. This figure also does it as well. At 7:39 you can see the paint turn a violet color when your set lighting hits him just correctly. Love that neat trick with the paint
