In the animated series, the symbionte suit does not have the dots, but he still shoots webs from his hands, there is a cloth suit and it doesnt have the dots either, they made the twip hands as an option of if you want him to wear the cloth suit

Best Hasbro Spider-Man so far, hoping they add new engineering to this body in the future. The neck could be so much better.
The eyes where only really large in McFarlane's art work but I prefer the lens shape on the new head and I kinda want Hasbro to make a classic red and blue spidey maybe with like some battle damage with those lenses

Unpopular opinion maybe: I;m hyped for the Hammer head the most. I just replayed Spiderman PS4 and like wow I actually loved him in the two DLC's in the city that never sleeps

found the entire wave in Target, today, grabbed everyone except Hoby, got the space venom version..id just let someone else who missed that figure get the recent. release..they look awesome..but at @23?!

I believe this is based off of the animated look and Hasbro just maybe overlooked the detail. I'm sure the symbiote hands would be compatible to swap from the Pizza Spidey buck. Another great thing about this figure is that the discolored joint pins are a non issue here.
Just ordered it and will get it next week. I have the blue and red classic one, so I definitely needed this one. Used to have the original Secret Wars issues and the Amazing Spider-Man issues where he first had the Symbiote costume. Sold all of them a few years ago. Wish I still had them.
I recommend putting it in warm water for 2-5 mins to make the joints a bit smoother
I wish it had blue highlights like how Venom had blue and red highlights. I also really like the eyes on the new head sculpt.
I'm glad they're replacing the Pizza Spidey mold, coz I didn't like it. I hope we get an update of Superior Spider-Man and Big Time Spider-Man as well.
they could've released a extra one with the lines on hasbro pulse like they did for invisible women and human torch in the retro F4 line

Yeah metalic blue highlights to give it that comic look would have been awesome, but I don't mind the solid black look. it's really clean to me.

They probably gave you thwip hand because 1. He’s (bleep)in’ Spider-Man. 2. To give people the option to ether be the cloth or symbiote suit.
Bro this figure is amazing all it needs is toe articulation and the neck Gap fixed its all ready one of the best
it is the symbiote that's what the package says that's what the designers 8ntended and that's what the art is supposed to be. also the symbiote costume isn't 100% consistent anyways, some versions don't even have the hand patches at all.
Thanks for the animated series reference at the end. The pose was good, but it would have been a better if the railing was in the shot.
I'm a fan of the big eye's of the past black costume figure, but I would like both, so I could have the big eyes as an option on this body.
I'm not a fan of the blue highlights. Now if it was cel shaded high lights like the animated Venom that would have my interest.

There is no dot because in the animated series there were no dots on the back of the hands. We know this is an animated series figure because the description says he got the suit in a space shuttle crash.
I agree the Retro Spidey from 2020 has a head that is slightly too small. I use the head from the House of M Spider-Man on one of mine and it looks much better.
I finally got him today! Thought I'd miss out on this one. Still need armor and Hammerhead but those are going slow so I have time.
I see some people complain about the muscular Spider bod. Noodle child Spider-Man was only ever a Mark Bagley Ultimate Spiderman thing that made sense then because it was a younger, almost child version of Spider-man, but then every mediocre mid 2000s artist copied that style even though it never made sense for a grown ass man.
Spiderman has been barrel chested since Romita and especially the animated series version was barrel chested and beefy. I hate the wet noodle, bulbous head child Spider-man tbh.

Where does he get cloth suit from? Does cloth suit transform into Symbiote suit?
Well I’m pretty sure this is based off the animated series, which didn’t have the dot.

This is the cloth suit it's missing the black dots on the hands. If you want it to be not the cloth suit just paint the black dots on the white pads of the hands.

I passed this one up and got Web-Man instead. It's my choice and I stand by it.
More the later hand made suit. He got cause was hanging with Felicia then and she really dug it.
MJ later on wanted Pete to burn it cause of bad memories of Venom and then the clone saga began and he went swinging in it with Ben to do some hero work. Just the gloves, mask, and socks.
Just preordered both this and Ben Reilly cause my local didn't have either.
The pizza Spiderman bodymold is still good, this one has the tiny shoulders and the bad neck joint so Its just an ok mold improvement, not that much better. The one from Cyborg-Spiderman is the BEST one to date IMO

I so disagree with your take on the body mold.
Never been sold on this body mold. It's too muscular (it has hams for thighs), the neck gappage could easily have been solved with a disc hinge, and the lack of waist hinge means you need to rely on the diaphragm to turn the torso around, but that completely breaks the flow of the deco. Luckly the upcoming Iron Spider solves all of those issues plus it's pinless. I really hope Hasbro uses that one as the base for all Spider-Man figures going forward.
I understand your problems with the Retro Spidey body but I disagree with you on the Iron Spider mold being used for every Spider-Man figures because it already is, it's just a reuse of the skinny Pizza Spidey body mold
@@Delta21OnYT It is? The thighs are definitely different, and I'm noticing differences in the proportions and sculpt of the pelvis, lower torso (which fixes the long torso of the Pizza Spidey) and back when looking at them side-by-side.

@@Avenging_Archer The lankier Spider-Man actually started in the late 80s and early 90s as an evolution of McFarlane's Spidey via Erik Larsen and Mark Bagley.
I think it makes sense for Spider-Man to be lankier. He's agile, fast and flexible, and his strength doesn't come from having overdeveloped muscles.
I think it's also important to note that there's a wide spectrum of body types between "noodle child" Spider-Man and bulging-muscular Spider-Man. I think the recently-revealed Amazing Fantasy Spider-Man body mold is a nice middle point and it fits the character a lot better than the retro Spider-Man mold. He has more realistic, less defined musculature, but still has a wider frame.
@@ADour1996 I'd agree on Mark Bagley but McFarlane's Spider-man was hella ripped and bulky, though definitely looked more flexible.
Even then, the 90's Bagley Spider-man is bigger than the Ultimate Spider-man and his head is more proportional to his body. You can tell at a glance this is a grown man and not a kid.
Also definitely like the new Amazing Fantasy Spider-man though it actually looks thicker to me lol maybe it's because of the paintjob and the chunky spider on his chest.

Lazy hasbro. This is just a a re-paint of Web Man. It's the exact same mold. Cheap Hasbro. Charging $23 for basically the same figure with a different paint app. Spider-man fans will buy it. They're like Nintendo fans...keep buying the same thing over and over again.
