What I REALLY wanted for Republic Commando was a mod to carry all weapons, and for battledroids to drop ammo. (And for the concussion rifle to use an ammo in common with other guns, maybe something dropped by B2s, or the Trandoshan charged particle cells, much like it used Power Cells in Dark Forces 1&2 and "metalic bolts"don't ask me how THAT worked in Jedi Academy.

Honestly, this game doesn't really need that many mods. it's already a great game, it just happens to have been released in the tail end of the 4:3 aspect ratio era. The game came out alongside Guitar Hero which doesn't even have a calibration option for non-CRT TV's.

Thanks for this video, finally makes the game playable on PC. That mouse acceleration was always awful. This is one of the old gems I never played. It looked like ass on the Xbox, and the PC version had that mouse thing, this is a godsend. Like someone else said in another post, if you want to run from from Steam, but keep all the fixes, do what he said, works like a charm. "Since I want to launch from Steam, I deleted original .exe file and renamed the CT.exe to that".
Blue colour clankers actually works better as camouflage especially in a spaceship/bunkers terrain. I don't know if the developers did this on purpose but that colour is making harder for me to spot them.
If anyone has an issue with the mouse being extremely fast, it's because the FPS Limit in options, in the Game tab is set to None. Change it 60-120 and it will smooth it out.
@@Kelphelp What you’re saying is the RC Fix should fix that without having to adjust the FPS? I had to adjust the FPS for the mouse to work properly in the menus. In game with it set to none works fine it's just too sensitive in the menus.
@@Captain_Obvious_SaysIt seems similar to Dead Space (2008)’s mouse issues. Having Vsync on makes the menus feel super choppy and the mouse feels just a tad too slow. Turn it off and the menu works fine, but you suffer scripting issues during gameplay. Basically, old games not being future proof, and not accounting for PC’s getting faster.
Many thanks for this vid! I was having issues with the textures & mouse acceleration and the Republic Commando Fix totally did the trick. Since I want to launch from Steam, I deleted original .exe file and renamed the CT.exe to that. The HUD fix solved stretch issue but it did give me other problems so opted out of that one and decided to keep the stretched out HUD - the stretching actually isn't too bad. Also, I actually like those crappy ass intro videos, they set the tone for playing an old ass game, plus they're easily skip-able 😁
I'll find a way to promote Republic Commando multiplayer and get a few hundred people to play it. I like reviving random multiplayer games, nice tutorial btw!

Ah then probably camera sensitivity. See if you can turn that down then. The initial menu mod should have taken care of it in the beginning even without the solo mod

there needs to be mods that improve the combat. this game has some seriously bad combat difficulty issues. esp on that level on the spaceship with all the droid dispensers. at least have more than 1 way to destroy them.
@@Kelphelp Like the SBD feel so bullet spongey. normally it would be okay if you fought 1 or two at a time. but when you get a dispenser pumping them out nonstop it gets annoying.
will this still work if i didnt buy the game on steam? i bought it a while ago using the EA app. the reason im asking is cus i had a problem with modding 2005 battlefront II where some of the mods didnt work. i tried repurchasing the game on steam and it fixed it
You can try this mod in the meantime for quake 4: Quake 4 4X AI Textures by deeppurple1968. If you play it you will also need a good config file for ultimate graphic experience

The biggest thing I notice is that the mouse acceleration is still like a rocket ship. I noticed that as soon as it started up. I'm thinking tomorrow I'll reinstall it or something. See if it works that way.
Trust I respond to every comment I possibly can so it's my pleasure you asked If something goes wrong, I always recommend a fresh clean install and then adding the mod. Start with small steps and go from there!
I seem to have an issue with running this on my pc - every time I run it via steam it minimizes. Is there an ini file I can change to make it so it isn't fullscreen by default?
@@Kelphelp maybe but at the same time not every games uses rtx now either. and intergrated graphics have since come along way. i mean more so in the sense that its nt running as smooth as it should be and hen looking in my task manager its my intel gpu running it. I've tried using nvida control panel to use my nvidia gpu but no luck.
That's fair on IGPU's but even then I will say these cards do run pretty well for new ans old titles. Haven't had problems with my 3060 ranging from RE Village to Republic Commando or even classic Fallouts. Could be drivers maybe? Updating the drivers via GeForce experience

I meant to say that although rtx is modern alot of games still dont use the rtx feature. if you mean that the card in general is too new like for example trying to run a voodoo game with an rtx then I would say in that respect so are the new intel intergrated graphics. I've tried updating my geforce experiance but for whatever reason it wont do it and just says error.
Trust me. Do not....go for a gaming chair. Spend money on your back as that is a big necessity. You can always replace parts on your PC but never replace your back so do what you can to take care of it

Yea the FPS is tied to thr mouse acceleration but it's still a bad fix. The fix here should alleviate that AND have high FPS.

So the mod I mentioned should take care of mouse acceleration. If not check out PC Game Wiki for a solo mouse acceleration mod. Should take care of it

Hmmm I can see what you mean. Its more of a spike difficulty than combat if anything. Combat is wonderful in this game, it's just the spike

Don't see why not! All it should have is probably EA DRM but should be able to do so. If there is issue it could be something via EA's DRM
People don't realise this game actually has cheats on PC like Godmode Ghostmode All Guns level Skipping etc

You should be able to. Either change the value in the INI to o for full screen or you can Alt + Enter to get it done.

What chair do you use?
I use the Autonomous Ergo chair. It's been a life saver for my back.
