I have been into woodworking and building since I was a kid in the late 70's/early 80's and still, I almost always learn a new thing or two in each of your videos. You are definitely very skilled and very creative, you explain things very well and you have fun with it.
Thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoy my videos. Cheers!
Nice projects. Can’t help but think what an inspiration you are for girls thinking about learning carpentry. I have no kids of my own but like to think that if I had had a daughter I would have tried to teach her the trade skill that I’ve enjoyed all my life. Thank you.
: ) Thank you.
April, you’re such an inspiration. Great design skills and solid building abilities- that’s a great combination. Not to mention your confidence with experimentation! Thanks!
Isn't it nice to be loved by your little four-legged friend?! Great video!!
So happy to see the pooches helping, my two pooches help me with all my workshop projects.
You are motivated and gifted and it's so fun to watch you build. I'm getting my husband to watch hoping he will get motivated to organize his stuff because it drives me crazy doing projects with him when it takes so long just finding tools.
I just upgraded my Craftsman bench top drill press with a Grizzly bench top radial drill press. Wow this opened up a hole new world of drilling. Now I can drill the center of a 30" dia table top. Well worth every penny I paid for it. The 5/8 drill chuck is a big plus.
April, the idea of using a speed square design for your swivel chair is just... uhm... just... hmmm... well, it’s just brilliant! I felt your pain trying to get a good engraving toolpath in VCarve for those. I’ve done quite a bit of that on my CNC and it often looks so good in the simulation; and then the actual workpiece comes out.... different. Especially with plywood, where layers separate easily around the fine details. Respect, I say. Especially since this was one of your first projects on the new machine. So cool!!
I like the swing out stools. Thought they were real metal until you showed the building process. Also love the fact you showed the dog on your chest, almost as bad as a cat, and shows your sense of humor.
To lubricate those load-bearing surfaces between the wooden bracket and flat washers, you can insert a couple of shop made fender washers cut from milk jug plastic. The HDPE plastic is slick and tough, and 2 of them between each washer/wood surface will help prevent wearing down the wood whenever you swing back and forth with your body weight on the bracket.
That's a good tip, thanks!
I love the versatility that this design could be used for. Looking forward to giving this 1 a shot.
: ) Great, glad you like it.
Love the swing-out seats, especially the "speed square" angle bracket idea. Man I wish I had not only a CNC, but room to put it in my shop. Great project April. You inspire me so.
Great work! Thanks for taking the time to make, film, edit and share
Those speed square supports are hands down the coolest thing I've seen built in a while! Killer project friend! 👏
Great job April, you'll feel better when you make them out of metal. Just reinforcing them with angle iron on the bench legs and attaching square tubing over the all thread rod will beef it up enough but you already know that. Keep up the great videos.
Glad to see you are finally using makita drills! I love em! Fantastic stools too!
You are definitely not lacking for a place to sit now! I like how you made the swivel ones look like squares!
Super cool really useful idea, they came out great April. Looks like the dogs approve.
Love the swivel swing away seat. And the shop puppies!
Love the speed square swivel seat. Stool ROCK as well.
I like your take on the swinging bench seat with the speed squares. I also was glad to see the link to Pask' seats at the end
Thanks. I actually never knew of Pask before I started sharing my design on Instagram and people pointed me towards his.
The coolest shop stools I have seen...like that mounting bracket...
Very beautiful stools, especially the last one. I just love it. Thank you for sharing your story. God bless you and your family
April great job as always. Truly loved when one ox your dogs decided to lay on you. So cute. 😀
You inspire me, and thousands others I believe,
I just hope my daughters take some of your stuff on,
Bless for sharing,
Take care , best wishes from UK
Cool designs April and your shop helper look like they are great stress relievers. Thanks for sharing!
This is the first video I’ve seen of yours and although this wasn’t actually what I was looking for I found myself “smashing” the like button, subscribing and hitting the bell icon and sharing this video with my dad who also loves making shtuff
😍😍😍
The stools look great. I liked the way you made the legs great design 👍
Really cool idea for both the movable and the fixed location seats. Your idea just became one of my projects so I can sit to do bench top projects. Thanks and have a great holiday season.
Just love the speed square swing outs and for that matter the stand alone stools.
Those stools look cool April, love the speed square design on the swing out ones. I have seen a few of these swing out stools in shops because smaller shops just don't have the room of large ones, so it is not a brand new idea, but yours is well executed.
Nice shop helper. I made similar in my classroom but I had them welded them on the metal lockers. Worked great for the 31 years that I was there.
I looked up swivel plates before you introduced them for the fixed, swing out seats, as I thought they would be fantastic on those stools as well.
I never thought about using painters tape to make gang cuts easier. I'm making a bunch of moving crates and because I don't have a tablesaw or a decent circular saw fence cutting multiple pieces exactly the same is often difficult, but it looks so easy with the painters tape. Thank you!
I'm glad it helps. : ) I use that trick alllll the time to save time and also make parts more consistent to each other.
The dogs always add a special challenge. 😊
I need those woodpecker tools! Trying to draw up dozens of long straight lines with a tiny speed square is stressful. Guess I found my Christmas present. 😎
They make for a great present. Even to oneself. 😄
Followed along with these projects on your Instagram but still is so cool to see how they come together in the video. Great stuff April!
Your shop stools are very cool. The speed square is one of my favorite tools.
Love the speed square as a design element for this stool. Nicely done!
Very nice addition to a bench. I hope I can find some time to adapt it to mine.
Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it. : )
Those stools attached to your workbench are great.
April, if you haven't already, you will learn to really enjoy using the Woodpecker tools, both well engineered and exercised products. Those with your skill and imagination will produce some great projects.
That is a seriously clever, fun and useful project! Wonderful work!
Great projects and I love your four legged shop assistants
I love the design of the stools and your swivel seat attached to your table! Very well thought out project. 👍
Wild seats of different woods, Great Idea and the only change I'd make is attaching the stool seats with wood dowels from underneath.. and the bench seats came out great the metal frame and attaching the seats before attaching the frames to the bench wood have been better... all hind sight Great job!! See Yas'
Speed square stool supports... Brilliant, young lady! Brilliant!
BARDZO PODOBAJĄ MI SIĘ TWOJE PRACE. GRATULUJĘ INWENCJI TWÓRCZEJ. POZDRAWIAM Z POLSKI.
Like always...well made, well explained and very entertaining. Keep up the great videos and projects. Always happy to see a new video from the AW shop.
: ) Glad to hear it!
April u never disappoint . I'm amazed at everything u do and u do it well with such precision. I believe u would be able to make it on any construction job site and out do many men. Just saying. Keep up the great work.
I believe that as well. ; ) Only because I enjoy it so much and love learning and working hard. Thanks!
Nice project, didn't expect the speed square mounting to be wood at the beginning.
That was a killer project. You made that look so do-able for the mediocre DIYer to accomplish. I love your work!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Wow, I love the stool design. Good call with the raw plywood base. If I wasn't already subscribed, I'd subscribe again. You're awesome
That turned out to be a couple of great projects. Another great video in the can!
I know it! I wish I would have broken it into two separate video to be honest, but oh well. : )
Great Job Miss April, I like at the end where you dog help
Awesome project April. You need one of your sponsors to fess up with an edge sander and a jointer (helical head). Love the CNC, they're a lot of fun....once you figure out the CAD/CAM software.
You're beautiful. Obviously your dog's love you as much as your viewers do. Keep posting the great videos and keep doing your great projects and ideas.
3:40 I recognize that can. You misstate that it's spray lacquer. In Texas it's sold at HD and Lowe's with the proper label, "Spray Bug Attractor". It's very useful in adhering flying creatures in new projects' finishes.
Just found your channel - been binge watching - this is so clever - brilliant!
Awesome, thank you! Glad you are enjoying my channel.
This is such a cool idea! I love it!
I hope the word build holds up.
Thank you for your channel amd amazing, inspiring videos. I have a great range of power tools (from my father-in-law and some 18v battery ones I've bought) and I'm starting out VERY slowly. Its videos like yours, showing how to make some of your own cool jigs & things for the workshop that makes me want to give it a shot. So, thank you, and keep up the great work.
Very jealous of all the nice new Woodpecker measuring tools!! good work!
The stools look amazing April and killer design on the bench stool! :)
Thanks James
Those swiveling speed square stools are stupendous! Such a cool design. Great video!
Very cool, when I first saw your swing stool I thought you might have made them in metal. Great job
Love the creative thinking on the swing out stools
Freakin' awesome! Gonna make these for my kitchen bar. Also saw your tip/article in Handyman mag. It was like a YT convention with all the other contributors.
Also, how are you liking the router table? Is it sturdy or does it wobble too much? I like the mobile style table/base. Thanks!
Love your stools. Very cool speed-square swivel seats and your little helper at the end was adorable. For those of us without a CNC router, there are 12" aluminum speed squares available.to get a head start on the project but then using them would be sacrilege for a wood worker. :-)
I really like the look of the raw plywood base as well. The swivel, cantilever bases are probably my favorites though, I find your design to be very intelligent. What would you estimate the weight limitations to be? I have a husband that is 6’8” and a son that is 6’’4”, thusly I always have to take this into consideration. Great video, great build.
April, nice projects. Just, I would have added pipe over the all thread inside the pivot points to act as a bushing. That all thread will chew up the plywood in short order.
Nice to see the shop dogs helping you out.
They are adorable and lovable pills. : )
I love when your dog sits on you. Perfect example of what its like to have pets
love the speed square swing-out seat!
Spray paint directly on the foam brush is a great tip! Thanks
A new fan, I'm impressed with your creativity darlin.
Very cool! Love the quicky square fab.
Keep up the good work, you keep us inspired to keep going out to our shop!
Love the bench stool (especially the speed square part). It reminds me of my junior high woodshop class. We had metal ones that swung out like this. Not quite as cool as yours but very useful
I didn't read the other comments and don't know if anyone else has suggested it, but have you thought about a small screen-door spring to let it fold back under the table when not in use?
Very cool videos, by the way...
Omg that ending 😍😍 the stools look awesome
: D Thank you
new shop stool really cool and space saver
Cute project! Thought you used actual speed squares at first. I was like “why ruin a good square??” Thanks April.
Awesome project...absolutely LOVE the speed square bracket stools!!!
Really neat idea and build. Better than always having to go grab a stool.
Very creative Miss W. looking forward to Sketchup in Des Moines.
Pretty cool, April! I thought it was all going to be CNC, I appreciate seeing it another way too! You’re awesome 😎
Enjoyed this project, great ideal, speed square, real cool, also other ones look great too. Thank gor all the great videos.
I love these stools. I have so much scrap wood to use up in the shop. I think I have plans now.
Very cool seat brace idea using cnc!
Thanks!
April u did a great job. Must be nice to have that cnc machine! Keep up the great work
great idea ...love the idea for the stools ..the table mounted ones are kool to
Great projects April!!! Both of them!!!
Those turned out awesome.
cool!! i liked the idea with the spray paint and the brush!!
This is really good, you are always great April
Have you tried the Matthias Wandel style of jumping onto the seat to see if it holds? Very nice work April, love watching your channel!
Those stools are amazing. Best part is when the puppers jumps on your chest and is like Mom, I am not leaving til you pet me.
Swivel seat on the bench are cool
Do I need to line my raised garden bed?
Super Duper AW, good idea for when extra help comes over to assemble with ya also!
