I'm a newer MMA fan, but I can see why people say that Pride felt so much more special. The theatrics, the huge arena, the entrances, the ring instead of a cage, the actual NAME (not just a number) of the events! It's like the anti-UFC! LOL😂 Dana White said that he doesn't like all this stuff, but honestly if you don't have this stuff, then the pay-per-views just feel regular TBH. UFC events don't feel all that special. Yeah, some of this stuff feels a little WWE, but that's why it feels so grand. Pride knew how to really put on a show, man. It wasn't just the fight that you were entertained by, just like how the football isn't the only thing you're entertained by at the superbowl, it's also the performances which include a bunch of theatrics!! Dana White needs to understand this!!! This is why Pride was winning in the late 90s and early 2000s. Pride probably would've bought the UFC if they weren't discovered for being ran by corrupt people!
Joel Soto - I agree! Maybe they’re making it boring because they want MMA to be taken more seriously like its scientific. In the States, it almost got banned. Now ESPN is partnered. Now MMA is its own martial art. It’s time to relax and put flavor back into MMA!
And it wasn't all trash talk! There was way more respect. I'm sure the Japanese wouldn't have encouraged what goes on with guys like Conor McGregor like Dana does. They wouldn't have put up with it. You can have hype and rivalry without being trashy and disrespectful. It's a shame that it was replaced by UFC because it was so cool.

Fedor is unbelievable!!! I just love his cool calm demeanor.
He dead on the inside
One of the greatest moments in MMA history. Thank you Kevin for that Amazing slam, RIP
Fedor is the best of all time. I think what else that makes him great is his quiet unassuming manner and his acknowledgment of the opposing side after the fight. That is somewhat gone nowadays.
How many times you have seen HW making that (18:04) transition? In less than a second he killed any confidence Kevin had from slam. Same speed when he gets Coleman in armbar from below. Incredible. People like HL of that slam, I like how Fedor reacted.
R.I.P Kevin. I remember growing up watching Fedor fight and always being amazed.
Fedor emelianenko is the true last Emperor.
Fedor even smiled when Kevin picked him up after the match was over. What a great moment
👍

You could see how much Fedor was relieved that he survived that slam. I think he knew how bad it could have ended for him. He really respected the hell out of Randleman too.
Man, it was just if I was young again watching this... the way they conducted the show, the interviews...and remembering that my parents didn`t let watch this `cause was "too violent". Amazing video !! Thanks for uploading it !!!
Randleman screaming in pain,Fedor is soo fast unbelievable

When I was deployed to iraq 07-09 this badass can out to visit the troops...and not only did he come, he cane out further than most people to our combat outpost! Nothing but respect ✊ for randleman!
That’s awesome!
Those were extra-terrible times, 07-09. I wish you only the best.

One of my favorite MMA fights of all time.
Man I love the UFC but Pride was the GOLDEN AGE of MMA.
UFC compared to Pride is like, fitness yoga center vs mma gym
Pride produced the best highlight reels in MMA. So many memorable moments. Miss this era.
Randleman slam of Fedor will go down as one incredible athletic feat throughout time. Fedor recovers and wins. 2 incredible athletes and people. Both showed so much class after brutal combat. They are true winners. RIP Kevin you are missed..
"What can you do to make sure the same thing that happened to crocop in the first round, doesn't happen to you?" Fedor Laughs in Russian.
Great sportsmanship by Kevin and Mark Coleman at the end after they both had lost to Fedor. Can't be mad at losing to Fedor.
fedor was a beast, gets slammed on his head, remains calm and seconds later reverses and gets kimura for finish.
he's like the terminator
The best of all time MMA "Fedor".

I went to UFC 92 and had the pleasure of meeting Kevin in a bar outside the MGM Grand Arena. Truth be told I had no idea who he was and we had the best time hanging out and talking and I think he appreciated that I didn't know who he was and so he was just talking to another person as opposed to someone who was a fan. Definitely a night I will always remember

Unbelievable that Fedor was so good. Fedor was so much smaller than the others in heavyweight. Many good ones in PRIDE. No. 1 Fedor No. 2 Wanderlei which was my favorite!

Fedor the last emperator ... simply amazing, he try to escape by every bad situation, mantein always a clean mind, is strong like a bear and quick like a tiger. Realy the only one ..

I just came to watch this after Miocic vs DC 3... This guys in Pride really knew how to put on a show! 😱

Spot on my friend
Pride had a lot of freak fights too. Miss those more than regular fights.
Thanks alot for this video such a treasure
