@@razagan1343 nah imo its a combination of that, the really good buildup bonfire did up to that point, and the friggin music lol. the music absolutely sealed the deal, especially when combined with the fact that i *really* wasnt expecting the neck thing.

This got me thinking on two things: One, I really wish we could have gotten her dress for fashion and two... This makes me wish she came into the fight in her human form, then entered her true form during the second phase. Seeing Nashandra casting hexes while still in her human form would be quite something indeed.
This 100% would've made it a better final boss fight even for the lack of difficulty. If it's an unimpressive fight for Lore implications then at least hit me wit it. Put on a show, From.

I'm sure it is just narrative story telling. Since you have to see her sitting in the throne afar she seems to be taller than hollow vendrick. Idk about human vendrick though
She looks like a beautiful and regal queen straight out of our own history, yet there’s just something oddly unsettling about her appearance that makes me uncomfortable when I look into her eyes.
Part of it is the smile, I think. Not only it doesn't reach her eyes, but there's a clear fakeness to it. It's polite and serene at first glance (which in itself is already strange, because she's the Queen, her country is falling apart, her King and people are worse than dead, *why she's so damn calm*?), but the longer you linger at it the more it looks strained, like she's trying not to grin at you with sharp teeth.
I love how beautiful she is up close, but I'm more impressed how empty she looks when you look into her eyes. I'm sure it was easy for her to put up an act for Vendrick to fall in love with her, but that only makes it creepier when she's done with him.

Nashandra is about 2 and a half times the hight of the player, so she must be around 14 feet tall (~ 425 cm). So in fact, she is taller than her by quite a bit.

I have previously suggested that at least the devs could have make her curse wider and unavoidable by helmets and immune stuff, and stackable, that could have at least make her much more intimidating to approach instead of the fight just being you tanking curses and easily swinging at her without any difficulty. Even that would have been better. I absolutely love her design, its easily the creepiest designed boss in the game and her theme is amazing, the fight on the other hand just gave her no strengths, not even in the magic department where she should have been much more intimidating regardless of lore. She has powers beyond any human, but they made her seem like she had nothing to relying on other than deceit and disguises. Im aware lorewise it makes sense but it really was disappointing easily beating the final boss first try, without any issues and never feeling in danger once you figure out you just have to use a veil to nullify curses completely and you win. And not worrying about her attacks at all since she pretty much sits in one place and dies when you negate the curse.
Instead of the Emerald Herald showing up to locations in the game it should have been Nashandra, the moment of her staring at Vendrick all hollowed out would have been really cool even if she was the final boss in the end anyways.
Imagine if Nashandra and the Emerald Herald were like the serpents from the first game. The Herald would push you to like the flame and Nashandra would want you to let it fade so that when you leave the area, she would have the throne for herself. And if you choose to link it after the Watcher/Defender fight, Nashandra gets mad at you and reveals her true form to fight you for it

Okay so I have this weird theory behind why human Nashandra is so unsettling and I don't know if anyone brought this up before. You all notice how her true form is that monstrosity with the bone dress and how that bone dress looks like the victims are still alive? I think those are her previous victims. To paraphrase her original soul description Nashandra an unsatiable lust for strength. Okay, so that could mean a couple of things. I remember seeing somewhere that nashandra was the first born of Manus's daughters after his destruction. How soon are we talking? I think she formed almost immediately after the Chsoen Undead killed Manus. So, not only did she witness her "father's" death but she also may have witnessed his killer (Chosen Undead) and the object of Manus's obsessions, Dusk. Odds are she probably realized Dusk was a much easier target than the Chosen Undead, and this is where the unsatiable lust part comes in. She acted on her obsession for by hitting an easy target of noble blood and on Manus's unexplained obsession with Dusk. Hence why HumanNashandra looks like an aged up Dusk. So, basically not only is Dusk probably in the dress somewhere, but Nashandra is probably wearing her like a suit which would explain why her movements are so unsettling.
Well if that is gonna be a thing lets hope BluePoint won't get their hands on it, since they never bother changing anything regarding gameplay and they only improve on graphics, performance while also making the art style generic.
Imagine if in a couple years we get DS1 remake which improves the second half of the game and fixed lost izalith and also a general better look, and DS2 where they go back to the drawing board and take their time instead of rushing it out.

Because lore says that he was awakened by foolish Oolacile mages who desecrated his grave and then locked him deep down in their prison, torturing him to get his power? And lore stated that his grave is "the grave of first human". So it's kinda making him not just old but resurrected ancient man. Overall I think Manus and Dusk is classic "Dragon and Princess example" and there is not much information of connection between them at all. He looks like just mad monster that kidnapped her.

Fun fact : there's 1 NPC in the game that has a similar "head movement", and it's the guy that removes your sins, on top of the Cathedral where you fight the congregation. He doesn't breaks his neck like Nashandra, but he moves it just like her, tilting a bit to wherever side you're at.
Honestly feel like this model needed more screen time in the actual game. Like, if one is careful to listen to all related NPC dialogs, it's easy enough to miss that this lady and the final boss are supposed to be one and the same. I feel like when she first enters the final arena it should be in this form, and than she should transform into her more monstrous appearance. Heck, maybe even as phase two transition, with the first half of the fight against elegant form.

I never realized just how much taller Nashandra was compared to Elana! _Oh my God, no wonder this Fragment of Manus became Vendrick's Queen, she was probably the stronger of the four by a wide margin!_ (although Elana certainly could put up a fight, summoning that weird Velstadt lookalike) Also, I love how even in her human form, you can feel something "off" about her eyes. Like some sinister aura is emanating from them. Makes you pity Vendrick, honestly. Nashandra never really loved him. All she wanted was the power.
Isnt the lore like, Elana was more powerful than Nashandra?? Supposedly Nashandra was the weakest. I'd say maybe Nadalia was the most powerful one, I mean, they even killed her off so you wouldnt have to fight her😂Alsanna I think since she is fear, she underestimated herself a lot after she fell for the Ivory King. I mean for fuck sake she controls an entire snow storm across miles and miles of land, maintains shit frozen and is keeping the Chaos by herself until you go help her. Elana is a much more difficult fight than Nashandra (and she is the final boss) because she doesnt fight alone, so her strength heavily relies on Dark Magic and Summoning, while Nashandra didnt bother trying to get acolytes, and I bet she could have. Knowing she is much more weaker, she 'tricked' you (the strongest warrior in the land at the moment) to clean the path of enemies for her.

Elana's fight is literally only stronger because she has a summon aid her, otherwise her fight wouldn't be more difficult then Nashandra's. I'm not sure Nadalia is a good comparison since she's literally *dead.* That's no indication of her power. "They killed her off so you wouldn't have to fight her", that just sounds like an assumption, not a fact. She died because the Ivory King, her target, had already perished, so she lost her purpose and only hope to get stronger. It wasn't until Raime came along that she saw a new chance to regain power, but by that time she was barely a soul staying in this world. She literally had to rely on *Raime* now, and lend *him* her power for him to do her work. So I'd say she probably had the potential to become way stronger, but she failed because the Ivory King died before her arrival, so instead she needs to rely on her new champion and make *him* stronger. Alsanna is *definitelly* powerful, but her powers seem more inclined to aid her in her purpose of sealing away the Old Chaos, just as the Ivory King had done prior to his demise. Her powers didn't seem like they grew to be battle oriented like her other sisters, more like they developed to be sealing magic. Contain the Old Chaos' flames with the ice of her magic. I mean, if you attack her, she's literally helpless! So I do think Nashandra may have been the strongest overall in terms of just raw power, or at least she grew up to be that. In comparison to that, I'd say Elana was the more "pratical" when it came to combat. She couldn't match Nashandra's power, so she used a summoning spell of sorts to gain an ally in battle. _(like how we summon NPC or Players for help as well)_ I just never understood why the hell she summons a copy of Velstadt of all things! *IS that Velstadt?* Is it simply an illusion,a copy of him? Is it just a different knight with the same armor and weapon as him, as if those belonged to the elite guard of the Sunken City or something? That's the only thing about Elana that I was never able to understand. Why the hell *Velstadt* of all people?

And yes I also couldnt understand why the hell does she summon someone she (as far as I know) never even met? Or perhaps she did? Or we just have to assume Elana saw him one day? I never got that. As for Alsanna, I think if she wanted to she could have attacked you but it seemed like she had become someone who in her heart just lost all of the dark/evil/malice or whatever you wanna call it, she was born from and had no intentions of fighting anyone, simply protection was her purpose, protection of what her beloved tried so hard to maintain against the chaos even if the place only had their pets...which we kill, sadly. So yeah its speculation of course, but I do think if Alsanna had not focused on only protecting being keeping away anyone and focusing on keeping the chaos at bay, she could have potentially been a strong entity. Now, yes, Nashandra unlike Alsanna and Nadalia had much, much more time to develop her power. And now that I think about it, her being weaker than her sisters was not a predominant thing, it was just at the beginning of their births, I totally forgot that part. Nashandra had more time to gather power than her dead sister, and her weakened and left behind sister. She was the only one succeeding in her goal to corrupt and harbor so much power. I dont know Elana's story but it makes sense she was very much isolated in that sanctum, I dunno how she would have acquired more and more power by just being underground for who knows how long. Honestly I dont have the energy right now to look up her story, maybe next week or something.

One of the theory says that after Gwyn made Sith a Duke and found out what happened to Izalith he became one of not many humans connected to dark and abyss. We never meet actual havel in soulsborne series, only two unnamed warriors and one ex-warriro Vaarg who became a grave robber. But there is a abyss representation looking like one of Havel Warriors called "A Chip of Ol' Rock". I think "Ol'Rock" related to original and true havel rather than one of his many warriors. Artorias got consumed by Abyss but he stayed in same size and got powered by abyss. So I think Havel warriors are the same. They souls are not capable to link the fire and that's why they don't grow in size. But they are connected with dark and abyss powered their souls that's why they are so powerful.
I tried to get through DS2 several times but it was too hard so I gave up and started over next year. It was a long time before I ever heard of Queen Nashandra, and even now she seems like some kind of DLC or recent update. It's weird to think that she was there all along.
It really fits her identity as the queen of want. Even her fake form looks like that creepy aunt that would cheat you out of your parents inheritance if given the chance.
Souls equal power the bigger someone is the more power they have meaning the more souls they have but since the undead are cursed with something that takes souls away from them they never change.
Imagine her attacking you in her human-like form first only using dark magic and curse pillars and towards low health she begins contorting like you see her neck here and speeds up her movements and then on the second phase she begins spilling black liquid from her mouth, eyes and her face melts off and her entire body turns dark from the liquid and until nothing but skeletons and a dark mass are left and it forms her true form and she shoves a hand into her chest and somehow the scythe comes out of her chest, beginning second phase. But of course she gets a few more and better attacks of dark and physical unlike what we get for real in the game. Like, she shoots dark rays while the scythe moves around the field on its own or she attacks faster and stuff. She can also blinks around the arena to attack you and instantly blinks back to the place she last was if you stay too much time far away from her (so that it doesnt look like Elana's teleport), and the curse stacks only it takes a little longer to fill the bar the second time you get cursed. Wishful thinking, in my eyes this would have amounted to a much more deserving concept of a true final bosses, and in SOFTS, if you die to Aldia, you have to fight Nashandra again, and only get her soul if you kill them both (this last part is just something I thought cause I know it wouldnt make sense not to instantly get Nashandra's soul when killing her).

I absolutely love her design, its easily the creepiest designed boss in the game and her theme is amazing, the fight on the other hand just gave her no strengths, not even in the magic department where she should have been much more intimidating regardless of lore. She has powers beyond any human, but they made her seem like she had nothing to relying on other than deceit and disguises. Im aware lorewise it makes sense but it really was disappointing easily beating the final boss first try, without any issues and never feeling in danger once you figure out you just have to use a veil to nullify curses completely and you win. And not worrying about her attacks at all since she pretty much sits in one place and dies when you negate the curse.

Instead of the Emerald Herald showing up to locations in the game it should have been Nashandra, the moment of her staring at Vendrick all hollowed out would have been really cool even if she was the final boss in the end anyways.

Imagine if Nashandra and the Emerald Herald were like the serpents from the first game. The Herald would push you to like the flame and Nashandra would want you to let it fade so that when you leave the area, she would have the throne for herself. And if you choose to link it after the Watcher/Defender fight, Nashandra gets mad at you and reveals her true form to fight you for it

Okay so I have this weird theory behind why human Nashandra is so unsettling and I don't know if anyone brought this up before. You all notice how her true form is that monstrosity with the bone dress and how that bone dress looks like the victims are still alive?
I think those are her previous victims. To paraphrase her original soul description Nashandra an unsatiable lust for strength. Okay, so that could mean a couple of things. I remember seeing somewhere that nashandra was the first born of Manus's daughters after his destruction. How soon are we talking? I think she formed almost immediately after the Chsoen Undead killed Manus.
So, not only did she witness her "father's" death but she also may have witnessed his killer (Chosen Undead) and the object of Manus's obsessions, Dusk. Odds are she probably realized Dusk was a much easier target than the Chosen Undead, and this is where the unsatiable lust part comes in. She acted on her obsession for by hitting an easy target of noble blood and on Manus's unexplained obsession with Dusk. Hence why HumanNashandra looks like an aged up Dusk.
So, basically not only is Dusk probably in the dress somewhere, but Nashandra is probably wearing her like a suit which would explain why her movements are so unsettling.

Overall I think Manus and Dusk is classic "Dragon and Princess example" and there is not much information of connection between them at all. He looks like just mad monster that kidnapped her.

Honestly feel like this model needed more screen time in the actual game. Like, if one is careful to listen to all related NPC dialogs, it's easy enough to miss that this lady and the final boss are supposed to be one and the same.
I feel like when she first enters the final arena it should be in this form, and than she should transform into her more monstrous appearance. Heck, maybe even as phase two transition, with the first half of the fight against elegant form.
And she is not even barefoot underneath that dress so you can clearly tell this is not a Miyazaki game

DAAAAMN! I never realized just how much taller Nashandra was compared to Elana! _Oh my God, no wonder this Fragment of Manus became Vendrick's Queen, she was probably the stronger of the four by a wide margin!_ (although Elana certainly could put up a fight, summoning that weird Velstadt lookalike)
Also, I love how even in her human form, you can feel something "off" about her eyes. Like some sinister aura is emanating from them.

I'd say maybe Nadalia was the most powerful one, I mean, they even killed her off so you wouldnt have to fight her😂Alsanna I think since she is fear, she underestimated herself a lot after she fell for the Ivory King. I mean for fuck sake she controls an entire snow storm across miles and miles of land, maintains shit frozen and is keeping the Chaos by herself until you go help her. Elana is a much more difficult fight than Nashandra (and she is the final boss) because she doesnt fight alone, so her strength heavily relies on Dark Magic and Summoning, while Nashandra didnt bother trying to get acolytes, and I bet she could have. Knowing she is much more weaker, she 'tricked' you (the strongest warrior in the land at the moment) to clean the path of enemies for her.

Elana's fight is literally only stronger because she has a summon aid her, otherwise her fight wouldn't be more difficult then Nashandra's.
I'm not sure Nadalia is a good comparison since she's literally *dead.* That's no indication of her power. "They killed her off so you wouldn't have to fight her", that just sounds like an assumption, not a fact. She died because the Ivory King, her target, had already perished, so she lost her purpose and only hope to get stronger. It wasn't until Raime came along that she saw a new chance to regain power, but by that time she was barely a soul staying in this world.
She literally had to rely on *Raime* now, and lend *him* her power for him to do her work. So I'd say she probably had the potential to become way stronger, but she failed because the Ivory King died before her arrival, so instead she needs to rely on her new champion and make *him* stronger.
Alsanna is *definitelly* powerful, but her powers seem more inclined to aid her in her purpose of sealing away the Old Chaos, just as the Ivory King had done prior to his demise.
Her powers didn't seem like they grew to be battle oriented like her other sisters, more like they developed to be sealing magic. Contain the Old Chaos' flames with the ice of her magic. I mean, if you attack her, she's literally helpless!
So I do think Nashandra may have been the strongest overall in terms of just raw power, or at least she grew up to be that.
In comparison to that, I'd say Elana was the more "pratical" when it came to combat. She couldn't match Nashandra's power, so she used a summoning spell of sorts to gain an ally in battle. _(like how we summon NPC or Players for help as well)_
I just never understood why the hell she summons a copy of Velstadt of all things! *IS that Velstadt?* Is it simply an illusion,a copy of him? Is it just a different knight with the same armor and weapon as him, as if those belonged to the elite guard of the Sunken City or something? That's the only thing about Elana that I was never able to understand. Why the hell *Velstadt* of all people?

And yes I also couldnt understand why the hell does she summon someone she (as far as I know) never even met? Or perhaps she did? Or we just have to assume Elana saw him one day? I never got that.
As for Alsanna, I think if she wanted to she could have attacked you but it seemed like she had become someone who in her heart just lost all of the dark/evil/malice or whatever you wanna call it, she was born from and had no intentions of fighting anyone, simply protection was her purpose, protection of what her beloved tried so hard to maintain against the chaos even if the place only had their pets...which we kill, sadly. So yeah its speculation of course, but I do think if Alsanna had not focused on only protecting being keeping away anyone and focusing on keeping the chaos at bay, she could have potentially been a strong entity.
Now, yes, Nashandra unlike Alsanna and Nadalia had much, much more time to develop her power. And now that I think about it, her being weaker than her sisters was not a predominant thing, it was just at the beginning of their births, I totally forgot that part. Nashandra had more time to gather power than her dead sister, and her weakened and left behind sister. She was the only one succeeding in her goal to corrupt and harbor so much power. I dont know Elana's story but it makes sense she was very much isolated in that sanctum, I dunno how she would have acquired more and more power by just being underground for who knows how long. Honestly I dont have the energy right now to look up her story, maybe next week or something.
If the game allowed us to walk closer to her there would probably be a lot more r34, let's be honest lol

One of the theory says that after Gwyn made Sith a Duke and found out what happened to Izalith he became one of not many humans connected to dark and abyss. We never meet actual havel in soulsborne series, only two unnamed warriors and one ex-warriro Vaarg who became a grave robber. But there is a abyss representation looking like one of Havel Warriors called "A Chip of Ol' Rock". I think "Ol'Rock" related to original and true havel rather than one of his many warriors. Artorias got consumed by Abyss but he stayed in same size and got powered by abyss. So I think Havel warriors are the same. They souls are not capable to link the fire and that's why they don't grow in size. But they are connected with dark and abyss powered their souls that's why they are so powerful.

Imagine her attacking you in her human-like form first only using dark magic and curse pillars and towards low health she begins contorting like you see her neck here and speeds up her movements and then on the second phase she begins spilling black liquid from her mouth, eyes and her face melts off and her entire body turns dark from the liquid and until nothing but skeletons and a dark mass are left and it forms her true form and she shoves a hand into her chest and somehow the scythe comes out of her chest, beginning second phase. But of course she gets a few more and better attacks of dark and physical unlike what we get for real in the game. Like, she shoots dark rays while the scythe moves around the field on its own or she attacks faster and stuff. She can also blinks around the arena to attack you and instantly blinks back to the place she last was if you stay too much time far away from her (so that it doesnt look like Elana's teleport), and the curse stacks only it takes a little longer to fill the bar the second time you get cursed. Wishful thinking, in my eyes this would have amounted to a much more deserving concept of a true final bosses, and in SOFTS, if you die to Aldia, you have to fight Nashandra again, and only get her soul if you kill them both (this last part is just something I thought cause I know it wouldnt make sense not to instantly get Nashandra's soul when killing her).
