I love this fragrance aswell only discovered a cpl years ago , and bc the sales guy was saying how i shouod try it. I fell in ❤️ love. The extrait is meant to be the pinnacle out of the whole range but is discontinued apart from Germany allegedly. I really wanted to try that one. 😢😢
Hypnotic poison definitely one of my favorite fragrance but I am a sucker for a fragrance that has an almond notes
One of my absolute faves! I am wearing it now. I get the root beer scent occasionally too. Usually I just get that beautiful almond scent. I live in a warmer climate and use with caution in the hotter months. I love it so much, I have a back up bottle. 😁
the scent of this to me is so indescribable I never smelled nothing like it gives off a mysterious aura to me I love how you. describe it you are so on point
Lost Cherry is as Gourmand as it gets for me. It reminds me of my Grandmother baking Jamaican Christmas Black Cake. All the spices, the almond and cherry, just yummy.

I almost ordered a bottle earlier today . I've been getting in trouble for spending so much on perfumes lately , so I didn't. My fiancee thinks it's. Crazy. I saw hypnotic poison hair perfume too. And thought It wld. Be nice to get both. After watching this I am struggling! Great review I love how you smell first then check notes. 😊

Just discovered your channel and subscribed ! Love the smell, tried it in the shop. On the hunt for a new fragrance. So hard to choose . You mentioned it might be more for winter/ colder times. What would you recommend I test for a summer fragrance ? I am in my 50 ties and we have hot summers !
Love sticky cake as well. Totally agree it has a bit more spice.
My favourite gourmand perfume is Girl of now by Elie Saab. The pistachio scent is so unique and brings very warm and cozy atmosphere around you. Likewise Dior Hypnotic poison, girl of now is for cold weather:)

All time favorite. Smelled it on a woman ones, was too Shy to ask her what it was. Never forgot the smell and one day i found it. Thank god. Do not want to be without it. So sweet and so Comforting and also very happy smelling in a way.
It smells comforting but also really sexy and sophisticated. Iike a woman that knows what she wants not for simple girls imo!

Love the EDT version, dont like EDP. Confetti is also great, but I am not gonna spend that money just because it last longer :D I would rather reapply the EDT I think.
I am 31 now and when l smell the fragrance it draws me right back to an expensive store where they sold perfumes and they had this fragrance , I was young and innocent didn't know much about perfumes but this was my first love

I love the EDT version. Forbidden by Police is a good super cheap dupe for it. JHAG's Mmmm is very similar but it costs more here than HP does so I'd rather just get it.
i only tried the tiolette I want the parfum, I bought this hen I was 18 im 34 now I just bought 2 of the 5 oz bottles and I will never ne without it again !!!! I love many fragrances but the one deff holds a top 10 spot in my heart im crazy about this fragrance.
Finally got the “best women’s perfume ever” and I absolutely love it 😍 I was afraid of the playdoh note which I get heavily in alien absolute essence, but in Hypnotic it is just divine. I enjoy your best-of videos! 😚

My sister wanted alien badly but couldn't afford it. I bought it for her bday but when I was in the store my nose was just mesmerized by hypnotic poison and I got that too for her with the mugler alien. She ended up liking poison way more. I made the right choice!

I love hypnotic poison edt.. love at first sniff for me to, silly thing is I barely use it because I dont want it to run out🤣 reminds me of my childhood my Aunties would smell like this, I find it very comforting

I sampled Hypnotic for the first time today and coincidentally came across your review of it later in the evening...lol! I love how much you love this fragrance. I've enjoyed smelling my wrist and have to go back to sample it again. Curious as to which formulation you have. I hear they are slightly different with the original being better.
I agree! I fell in love with this fragrance when it first came out! When I became a frag addict during the early days of the pandemic, I discovered and purchased a vintage bottle ca. the 90s, and it was exactly how I remembered! Unfortunately, I am beginning to run out, so recently tested a new formulation (one of many!) at Ulta. It is a shadow of its glorious past. Why? Why do they do it? Dua has an inspiration of the original formulation, and I am dying to try it! But, there are absolutely no review videos!

At first, I sniffed it on a woman and it was lave at first sniff. ❤️
after few months, luckily, I recived a sample of it and immediately recognized it!😍 our lovestory started.
after a year, I bought pure poison too, the one with the white cap. I started to use pure in the daytime and hypnotic in the night time, and so on.
now I find hypnotic a little bit lighter than the original formulation (but it is still my signature); pure poison, instead, has changed too much...😩
Hypnotic is my 1 for life.
If u had to ( heaven forbid) give up all but one of my collection, I'll wouldn't even need to think about it, itd totally be hypnotic poison. And I like to live dangerous, I wear this deliciousness all year round, and I live in Australia lol. Was a total love at first smell, many have tried to duplicate this but none come close to the real thing.
I own the purple ombre coloured bottle like in the video, and a vintage rubber coated bottle and thryre both amazing, even though people always say " it's a shadow of its former self" ( eyeroll) it still smells freakin amazing

I looooove Hypnotic Poison, but I actually found I liked Poison Girl even better. I love both the edt and the EDP and I also have unexpected and couldn’t imagine not having them in my collection
Redhead Detective ooooo I currently have Poison Girl edt (it’s my most worn fragrance at the moment 😍) and I’m thinking of getting the edp soon. How different is the edp?
P S The EDP is more balsamic and has less caramel in the dry down. Maybe a little but better in cooler weather, but honestly both of them can be worn all year round, which I love!

I have poison girl but im surprised you like that fragrance its so strong..but we know its best to spray on the skin not paper
Only Dior I have is the original poison. I’ve smelled them all and I want pure poison next then hypnotic. I thought hypnotic smelled like play do but it’s been years since I’ve smelled it so I’m going to buy it anyway and try it again.
Does hypnotic poison give off a kinda vanilla bean/vanilla pod kind of vibe? Could somebody describe the intensity of the vanilla in this? In the edt?

I watched this video about a month ago and finally blind bought a bottle since we seem to have a similar nose (these perfume brands should pay you! 🤣). I just smelled it for the first time and my mind is blown 🤯 Did a perfume just change my life???? Thank you for introducing me to this masterpiece, as in my mind I’ve always considered the poison line as for ladies of a “certain age”.

I just bought a vintage bottle on Ebay, and I’m so excited because I’ve never tried it, unbelievably, because I was 30 in 1998- perfect time to try it! bc My favorite designer gourmand is Angel Muse! Obsessed!

Laura Mercier (eau gourmand line) “Vanille” smells like hypnotic poison but with extra vanilla. It’s amazing ( blind buy... now one of my favorites). I heard that it’s being discontinued so I quickly grabbed a bottle.

@@kamalitarajagopalan6806 longevity is moderate ( lasts about 4 hours on me). I’ve had my bottle for a bit over a year and it doesn’t seem like it’s gone off or anything like that. The only other Laura mercier products that I own are translucent face powder and under eye brightening powder to set concealer and they’re also fine after about 1.5 years ( but powders aren’t usually the type of product that goes bad too quickly).

Quite a few Fragrantica reviews state this is unisex. Your opinion? Does Andrew have this? The Fragrantica reviews discuss about 4 different formulations. There's the 1998 version, the 2011 version, the 2014 version and the current version. What's your batch date? Are you aware that all Dior boxes contain the formula codes (usually to the right on the last line of the ingredients) in addition to the batch codes. .
Hi Shave-a-then, Yes, I have Hypnotic Poison and Profumum Roma Confetto too. I have vintage 20ml bottle 'Christian Dior Hypnotic Poison' 8K03, and a newer 50ml bottle of 'Dior Hypnotic Poison' 5W01. I've no idea how often the batch codes get reused, until they repeat themselves, as there's no way my vintage bottle is only just over a year old. I hope you're doing well, take care,
@@HollywoodSilentFilm The batch codes usually get repeated every 10 years. Since this fragrance is 22 years old, it could have been repeated twice. It's important to save the boxes because the formula codes are listed on them. Did you buy the 8K03 version when it was first released in 1998. Since the usual sites list it as an October, 2018 bottle, it's possible it's a 2008 or 1998 bottle. How long ago did you purchase it and is there a noticeable difference from your 5W01 (Sept. 2015) bottle. Did you save the boxes? I would like for Arlene and all the reviewers to get used to mentioning the batch and formula codes they're reviewing. Everyone who has a collection should be cataloging this stuff into a database.
i went to smell this at neiman marcus and they had all these new dior fragrances and he said hypnotic poison is discontinued... this is in the usa

On my skin it lasts only 30-40 min. It’s not fake,I bought my bottle in duty free on the airport. I love it so much but the reformulated Hypnotic Poison sucks👎
Yes, the same for me. I got it form Sephora. It is not what I expected, unfortunately. And when they say it's strong... Also the EDP version is not what it used to be.

Did u ever try alaia blanch? Its similer to hypnotic poison without the liqueur note.. i think u love it.. its a simple almond vanilla scent .. i was gifted hypnotic from my ex.. everytime i smell hypnotic poison i remembering my ex.. love the smell but hate the memorie

Luxury in a bottle
It's one of the best and sexiest sophisticated female scents I ever smelled. It's so sexy. Bought it as a gift for my sister and gf they both loved it and got many compliments. For me if I smell that on a woman I can't stop smelling it. This perfume is definitely for a real WOMAN, not for simple girls.

It's an extremely feminine perfume in my opinion.
One smells like play dough and the other smells like rootbeer. EDT vs EDP. I prefer Pure Poison. Poison girl was pretty ordinary to me so nothing special. I really like that one. I haven't smelled any others.
