Decision fatigue is a great way to describe what I’m going thru rn. Been putting out singles every 2 weeks since July and am writing, producing, mixing and mastering all my songs. I felt like being a perfectionist and stressing over tiny details was making me fall behind and also made the process way too stressful/unsustainable. Now I try to ask myself “is this decision I’m stressing about a big deal or am I just blowing it out of proportion and setting unrealistically high standards?” That usually helps me place more of a focus on the bigger picture things that matter and not dwell over the small things that don’t as much. I can move quick when it comes to song-making, but I need to grow when it comes to content, scheduling, etc. Napoleon Hill has this quote that always stuck with me: "Procrastination and indecision are twin brothers." If I notice I feel stuck, I'm learning I just didn't decide what I needed to decide WHEN I needed to decide it... Appreciate you being a big bro out here man 🙏🏻

Best advice out there, don't over-complicate this, don't overthink just DO IT, don't let you ego get in your way interrupting the flow with thoughts of what others may think. You received this idea, inspiration, etc.. you must put it out AS IT IS.

I can 100% vouch for this. I adapted this same mindset at the beginning of 2023 with practically 0 followers/fans across the board. Now i have a healthy trajectory upwards as i continue to go with this mindset. Check for your self. now that I see someone else teaching it showing how much it worked for them ill be sticking to it. Hey Nick thought this was good, wanted to say thanks. I’m getting ready to record/release my first few songs and I was doubting that they were good enough. Honestly, not all of them are my best songs but I believe in them and I needed to make a decision so the other musicians could learn them. I figured if I didn’t just start making music I never would. Felt good to get some validation from this video. 👍
Quick decision making is SO important and has really changed my work flow. I am particularly indecisive, but being able to pick a loop to produce around has really helped my turnover. I still need to learn how to apply this quick thinking to other areas (melody, songwriting) but it's a step in the right direction, I can feel it. My first ideas are often always my best in hindsight
facts , very important. Even in production, making a decision in your beats is just as important. Producers suffer from that as well. Finding that perfect snare or kick or sound etc. Just make a decision finish the beat and move on to the next. quantity is better as more quantity = better quality over time. you hinder your growth trying to make EVERY beat/song perfect

Agree on this, usually I feel it in my gut fast if a melody is the "one". Then build around that. I already have 200+ original songs released in the past 10 years and going forward into 2024 the plan is to release 2 songs per month, sometimes 3 if I'm in a good work flow. Love these videos!

So I took a break, came back to the studio with a lets have fun mindset. New singles are now coming this July and every month after. Reach out to collab indie artists.

I think a lot of us creatives are perfectionists to some degree. Sound design, melodic progression, arrangement, mood, composition, etc. I mean, if it wasn't for my intense, ever-changing deadlines, masters program this year, I would still be going back and forth on musical ideas. I agree Nic!! Decision making is an important skill. At some point, we have to stop ourselves to keep going (if that makes any sense). 😊
