  • Like me, you’ve probably been using Spotify since, well, forever. Whether you’re an iPhone or an Android user, Spotify has dominated the market when it comes to how we listen to music. With their AI DJ, personalised playlists and, of course, everyone's favourite: Spotify Wrapped, Spotify seems to do it all so well! But what if there was something BETTER than Spotify for streaming music?
    If you’re as old as I am, you might remember the days of the ‘iTunes’ app; a clunky music app that was about as about as visually appealing as a cinder block wall. Well, things have definitely changed since the days of iTunes, with Apple Music offering lossless playback quality that Spotify users can only dream of! So, in this video, I compare Spotify to Apple Music to see which music streaming service is better!

      Yeah I'm still in awe that Apple Music doesn't have the same or better algorithm than spotify, considering their net worth. That's the only thing that's making me not shift to Apple Music.
      Also Spotify is just better in Windows, which is most of the time I listen there. Apple Music is just terrible in Windows and the UI is from 10 years ago. I have 80mbps and I also use ethernet cable. When I stream music while gaming, Apple Music somehow eats all the internet data.

Not only does it have the same music library as all the others, it also has all the music anyone has uploaded to UA-cam such as unofficial remixes, live concerts and versions, bootlegs and more. Spotify has terrible compression. Tidal, Qobuz and Apple Music sound so much better. What I miss on Spotify is the social aspect of it and the seamless switching from one device to another. I would be really happy when this finally arrives to other music services. But right now because of how much it bothers me, I can’t be on Spotify because of how it sounds like the songs are blown and lose a lot of sounds.

    • @VariantAEC
      @VariantAEC 4 місяці тому +5

      No. That is because Apple's audio quality is no better than any other app I've used. I don't use Spotify on "Low" quality either. Whether streaming or listening offline I use "High" or more often "Very High" quality options (even on mobile data). I'm not saying Spotify provides the best quality audio and I do at least agree with you that Spotify seems to be quieter, but louder doesn't mean higher quality. The quality sounds the same and turning down other apps to reach Spotify's lows allows you to meaningfully hear that there's nothing between them. Alternatively, and this is frowned upon by tge companies, you can rip the streams to compare the files as downloaded and played which I've done and noticed... there's nothing between them aside from placebo.

    As a music nerd, I tried all the streaming services ( Tidal, Spotify, Apple music ... ). Spotify wins in terms of user friendliness, as well as due to the eco system around it. You can literally install it on anything and control everything from your phone. Tidal and Apple music win when it comes to sound quality. Even 320kbs from Tidal and Apple music is better than 320kbs from Spotify. They are clearer and louder. I ended up staying with Apple music because I'm an iPhone user and it works really great. Spotify is TikTok for me, while using Apple music I feel like it's something really mine, if you understand me.

The only downside is the connect feature which is actually understandable as Apple is a tech company with other product so they have to keep some features for themselves.
