Great interview. The gold bugs and the bitcoiners really ought to get on better than we do. We have essentially the same diagnosis, but are going about dealing with the mess in slightly different ways. Doomberg's attitude is great. Earn the fiat that you can, and save/invest it in hard assets. Note that 'hard' should be thought of as including 'digitally hard'. Use any edge to might have available to do this. In his case, an understanding of his local market for land. Gold has been a great way to do this for an extremely long time, and across many geographies. Btc is a new way to do it. I don't own any gold, but think that anyone who stacks ounces is totally rational, and i wish them all the best. I personally prefer btc, and stack all the sats i can. The reality for both communities is that the circumstances which get the goldbugs their $10k (and i hope they do get it), will send btc to some ungodly number. To the moon together ❤
The sound money conversation starts off with the chicken saying essentially “I’m proud and fine I don’t own the hardest money ever created”. I like Doomberg, a lot actually, but he’s missed this so so bad and pride won’t let him come back around. It’s not about 2x a real estate deal vs a gain in BTC!
Doomberg, I hate to break it to you, but China does not cause addiction or addicts. Society does. Families, cultures, poverty, education and economy causes addiction, including Fentanyl. Case-in-point: During my Naval War College seminar circa 2012, the Nigerian Navy Captain had the gall (wisdom?) to ask a panel of DEA, FBI, DHS, US Marshalls and other law enforcement experts on drug cartels in the US, "what is it about this country, and your society, that makes it such fertile ground for drug cartels and addiction? What causes the demand signal?" The response from the enforcement guys was stunning - basically, it's the breakdown of the family unit. Social disconnection and despair, at the most basic level. So, the visiting foreign officer asked the obvious question and we got the answer we needed to hear: addiction is the demand; cartels (then, Mexico, now Mexico + China) is the supply, and they are savvy businessmen. We need to do better.
Yeah the “China is waging war with Fentanyl” take is bullshit. The US pharmaceutical industry got so many ppl addicted to opiates and created a market for it, along with what you said as well, the breakdown of society and hollowing out of the middle class. Don’t blame China as a whole for an issue that was homegrown
This was the best green chicken economist I listened to today. My family thought I was crazy with my investments, thanks for giving me something to send them.
Exactly. Being able to ‘touch and feel it’ and ‘feeling compounding steadily’ are all just emotions. Not rational choices towards the goal of wealth preservation and growth
TLDR: Doomberg is scared of Bitcoin due to its volatility. He’s likes physical assets like real estate, gold, and Rolex’s Unfortunately for him, being a no-coiner will not end well. I’d expect him to capitulate at some point or become very salty overtime, similar to Peter Schiff
Yes, great interview at this crucial world juncture. Regarding Bush v Gore mentioned in the program, I followed this at the time and here is the sequence 1) Gore conceded 2) Gore unconceded and asked that one area of Florida ("hanging chads") be recounted 3) Bush team indicated a recount was OK but for the full state, not just one area 4) FL Supreme Court made partisan pro-Dem decisions 5) FL Attorney General made pro-Repub decisions 6) In the end, the US Supreme Court decided in favor of Bush 7) After all the dust settled, a consortium of US media companies that included UPI, NY Times and many other orgs paid to have a full comprehensive recount of the full state performed. Bush won.
Appreciate the quality of discussion guys ... btw, to add to Doomberg's sense that fentanyl is being distributed in the US from China with some indifference from US's policing is not only obvious but the complacency is incredibly alarming ... Chinese culture, history and memory is looooonnnnnnggggg as I'm sure Doomberg is aware given his experience there. And the Opium wars were very recent in their history. If a nation were want to influence another's economy or internal integrity, what more effective non military way ?
Great interview! I like his point of view. I just don't understand his Bitcoin stance? It makes no sense by now. Maybe a few years ago, but now? Im just like wtf
Peter spent the first half of the interview TRYING to ask: But Doomberg, by treating Bitcoin as merely another asset class that you happen to not prefer, you must be dismissing the arguments for why Bitcoin is structurally superior money. Which of those arguments do you reject and why?" Otherwise it was a great conversation. Interesting perspective.
I bought several ounces of gold back in 2015-2017. I sold all of it starting in the summer of '22, into summer of '23.... for Bitcoin! Bitcoin is better money than gold.
…… Do you not understand opportunity cost?!?!? Yes the value of your land doubled between 2019 and 2024, but Bitcoin did between a 10-20x during that same time frame. So, if you understood opportunity cost… you’d realize that you LOST money.
Doom(&Gloom)berg more like… His overall opinions and philosophies wouldn’t inspire me to follow his work even if he produces one of the more successful substacks. He is doubling down on his Gold over Bitcoin preference which makes me believe that he is not open to new ideas or willingness to change his views even when confronted with the obvious!
Yeah weird right? The price of actual gold, not just paper, was manipulated by the London gold pool in mid-20th century, so how on earth he doubts that paper gold is manipulated I don’t know
19:00 Host describing his asset allocation of rare sneakers, bitcoin and land. One might suggest some diversification? One way to think about these things is through their liabilities. Bitcoin is liable to its network. Land is liable to our social contracts. Stocks are liabilities of the underlying companies. Physical gold is liable to no one; but then you have physical gold to take care of so maybe you are the liability. Jaja, take it from the man.
Gold tracks inflation, often with a lag. From $1250.00 five or so years ago to $2300.00 sounds like a reasonable move. It's a hedge, not a speculation like your cryptos...
Interesting conversation. The guy just isn’t interested in bitcoin. He does seem to be very interested in preserving wealth. I personally like Bitcoin. It makes sense to me. Up to a couple years ago I spent some amount of time trying to convince a few close friends to get off zero relative to Bitcoin. I don’t do that anymore.
The best for Ukraine is peace and somewhat South Korean status, trying to modernize. Forget about Russian-speaking parts in a similar fashion as Serbia did re. Albanian dominated Kosovo. However, that (even if Russians concede to it) means peace. I am not sure that the West wants that for Ukraine. They support the forever war political elite in Ukraine (that actually created the conditions for war with monoethnic policy) and don't care if it means losing human resources in an attempt to weaken Russia.
This video started strong but got disappointing. He sounds like propaganda hoping for a US civil war just because he thinks his side will win. Instead, I hope he can take his "analytics" and try to find solutions in the problems of the US instead of creating more divide with his jingoist words. "The red states got all the guns" sounds like a child.
Wow, Doomberg needs to get together with Adam Schiff. Claimed SEC would never approve spot Bitcoin etf’s, keeps talking about touching his gold and land. To each their own.
Poor old Peter Schiff. So close yet so far. BTC will slowly but surely start to surge as funds keep accumulating over time. And it will pass gold in market cap. I have looking forward to the price squeeze and it’s starting. *Bitcoin for money. Filecoin (FIL) for decentralised data. Both vital for humanity.
He seems way behind, like how is he doing all this research and coming up with naive conclusions as if only just starting to realise that the world has been corrupted by counterfeit money and thinking that America’s problems are caused by China?!
Zero comments because we're discussing $40 gold arbitrage wherein Banks have been convicted of precious metal price manipulation... Audit it then get back to me.
JPM Morgan has already been fined for manipulating the precious metals markets. What does that mean? Not 100% but it’s proof of bad actors. My opinion on anything that has a two way market, manipulating to some degree will be there. There has been people who have opening tried to purchase silver futures for delivery and no one would actually deliver the silver. Not sure what that indicates but certainly odd.

Thank you, this has been insightful. I find Doomberg to be someone worth listening to.
The sound money conversation starts off with the chicken saying essentially “I’m proud and fine I don’t own the hardest money ever created”. Doomberg is spot on with every issue, but Bitcoin.
Because he can't touch it lol!
Same as Peter Schiff

Read about the Opium Wars, or the Iran contras.
Great show, Peter. Doomberg... incredible interview. Thank you for your insights and your kindness to the bitcoiners.
I read 'Doomberg', instant watch.
Favorite guest of all time
This was the best green chicken economist I listened to today. My family thought I was crazy with my investments, thanks for giving me something to send them.
It's always interesting how emotions rule behaviours / investment choices.
Exactly. Being able to ‘touch and feel it’ and ‘feeling compounding steadily’ are all just emotions. Not rational choices towards the goal of wealth preservation and growth
This guy was so wrong on Bitcoin. I remember him fading it and proudly saying he owns none. Total fail!
23:30 to skip past the cope about why he us on 0 exposure 😅
Enjoyed that a lot.
Big love to Doomberg another great cast🎉

Always good hearing from the green chicken. Thanks guys :)
Unencumbered hubris is a remarkable sight (and sound)!
Great interview! I like his point of view. I just don't understand his Bitcoin stance? It makes no sense by now. Maybe a few years ago, but now? Im just like wtf
Bitcoin derangement syndrome
Peter spent the first half of the interview TRYING to ask: But Doomberg, by treating Bitcoin as merely another asset class that you happen to not prefer, you must be dismissing the arguments for why Bitcoin is structurally superior money. Which of those arguments do you reject and why?"
Otherwise it was a great conversation. Interesting perspective.
Doomberg’s ego won’t allow him to see bitcoin as a great asset.
Doomberg is a great guest - informative, articulate and straight to the point. Looking forward to next time.
I bought several ounces of gold back in 2015-2017. I sold all of it starting in the summer of '22, into summer of '23.... for Bitcoin!
Bitcoin is better money than gold.
I came here for the comments.
the more i listen to this bird the clearer it get hes a bird brain JEEEZZZZZ
Love the pod but this one is hard to watch. Doomberg, smarten up.
Doomberg is a solid man. Good brain. Good heart.
Granted, but his lack of even less than 1% allocation is straight tarded. Godbless him tho
Cue the: "I can't see his face so everything he says is not good for me!" 😂
…… Do you not understand opportunity cost?!?!? Yes the value of your land doubled between 2019 and 2024, but Bitcoin did between a 10-20x during that same time frame. So, if you understood opportunity cost… you’d realize that you LOST money.
I own silver, gold, and BTC.
Same.
How can you not think when banks have been fined for manipulation in silver markets??
Yeah weird right? The price of actual gold, not just paper, was manipulated by the London gold pool in mid-20th century, so how on earth he doubts that paper gold is manipulated I don’t know
Good talk!
Let’s go!! Bull market.
So to clarify, you are saying that someone who is diagnosed with a speech disorder (stuttering) is considered senile?
19:00 Host describing his asset allocation of rare sneakers, bitcoin and land. One might suggest some diversification? One way to think about these things is through their liabilities. Great podcast
Bitcoin is “speculating” but real estate and gold are not?
It’s all speculation
He said he would be a buyer at $10k. Anything he says now is cope.
-no
Such a smart person and he holds gold... that's like a -2 debuff
Jurassic Park called, they want their Dinosaur back
Gold tracks inflation, often with a lag. From $1250.00 five or so years ago to $2300.00 sounds like a reasonable move. It's a hedge, not a speculation like your cryptos...
Goodness. Such a doombird! No profound remarks here, but a steady diet of (only) this is toxic.
Doomberg and Kiyosaki waiting for 5K to back up the truck. lol
What am I missing? He keeps talking about IF Bitcoin gets to 5K, while it's already at 65K - 75K.
michael malice? Nailed it.
Never thought I would be staring at a green bird for more than an hour. Although it has some interesting stuff to tweet 🙂
Where are the comments on this video? It’s been up over 24 hours and, apparently, there are no comments 🤷♂️
I think the war discussions are a bit of a stretch. I don't see the financial considerations as core to the conflict.
Hey I'm just curious if you could possibly help me with investing in crypto I am a beginner.
He had the right body. Chicken shit I’ll buy btc when tether fails and it’s 5k
Doomberg is still a no coiner 🤯
Cool podcast❤
Black Mirror!!!

Not a fan of Doomberg, just saying.
What to think about this? He's not saying anything that's not true, but how do you not lose your mind thinking about this?
I must cut down on the mushrooms on a Friday evening - I could have sworn you were talking to a green chicken for an hour! 😳
Where are the comments?
Hello? Streamed 18 hours ago and no comments? Anybody home? Its only us chickens....
This video started strong but got disappointing. He sounds like propaganda hoping for a US civil war just because he thinks his side will win. Instead, I hope he can take his "analytics" and try to find solutions in the problems of the US instead of creating more divide with his jingoist words. I love Michael Malice
LOVE the big green chicken 🤘
Who knew a green chicken could be so wise.
Peter, why can't I quit you. You drive me nuts, yet here I am after your talk with a green chicken wanting more.
Lost me at gold
Everyone speechless after this one I guess.
Doomberg is a good egg
The ai models trying to learn your facial expressions are now very disappointed 😞. But good podcast:)
Somebody please save doomberg
I can feel him digging his grave
Bitcoin eating gold in front of us
Sorry, but Gold Bitcoin parity has been going in golds way for the last 2 years,
did he buy btc or still waiting?
I don't get it, why does this person use a voice changer and avatar?
Privacy.
Wow, Doomberg needs to get together with Adam Schiff. Claimed SEC would never approve spot Bitcoin etf’s, keeps talking about touching his gold and land. To each their own.
What does this "Doomberg" guy bring to the discussion? He's very uninteresting, and a nocoiner to boot? Why
So ironic to me he goes by doomberg and isn't a bitcoiner really at all
Of course gold is manipulated. What about the London gold pool 60 years ago. Likely far more manipulated now
Doomberg is just starting to wake up to what i saw in 2020. The red pill led me to the orange pill. Stack beans, bullets, band aids and sats.
Love the Chicken.
Doomberg ended that podcast with a bang. He's so right about the election.
were are the comments
❤
Is he bragging that his piece of land has done a 2x since 2019.
Don’t tell him what the price of bitcoin was in 2019 😂
a coping strategy
So close yet so far…..2024/25 will remedy this…..
I'll come back and watch this dude once he capitulates. Til then boring
I get it hes a gold bug, still some % in btc would did him good.
Atleast hes not denying it... calling it "Pet rock" and shit
WOO Doomberg 5k btc
Not “more crazy”. It’s “crazier” 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Holy crap I’m depressed
weak epsode. Doomberg doesnt really know what he is talking about and doesnt take accountability for example for his stance on bitcoin and tether
Doomberg will eventually buy BTC!!
Why does Doomberg sound just like Micheal Malice?
Doomberg, just effing buy bitcoin.
Hey Doomberg, have fun staying poor :)
Doomberg buying Bitcoin at seven figures.
Haha the Green Chicken guy is a joke..
Good thing he's not on Twitter anymore.. Would be trolled to death.
Still waiting on $5k to buy?
