Man oh man, Alex makes sensible and compelling points and arguments. This interview was incredibly educational and a total pleasure. I could hardly love it more.
I've listened and loved so many of your podcasts over the years. That has to be one of the best. It's also the first interview where after listening to it I'm going to get a pen and paper and listen to it all again. ❤bitcoin
Love this episode! Alex is a legit OG legend, and he obviously sees tons of usage that the 1st world can't even imagine. I really wish there were bigger and better ways to get his findings out there.
An excellent episode, one that was begging to be made. This is now going to be one of my "go to" resources for engaging colleagues from community health and social service organizations who have been slow to open up to Bitcoin. Many thanks!
Alex has been as influential to me on my Bitcoin journey as Michael Saylor has been. Being an engineer, I started to see sound money in terms of physical principles like conservation of energy or as the working fluid of an engine. But I thought that was just an engineer’s quaint way of seeing the world, like a painter seeing the world in hues, tones and color values. I felt vindicated when I heard Saylor also talk about Bitcoin in engineering terms like “thermodynamically sound” money. I’m from a third world country and having both studied and worked both there and in America, I felt deep down that something was wrong with the global financial system and the distribution of opportunities but I couldn’t put it into words. Alex has put it into words for me and his work is very inspiring. Once again, I feel vindicated. Thank you, Alex.
Undoubtably one of your best talks to date in my humble opinion. The examples here in 3rd world countries delineated by Alex where bitcoin is being used to enhance and improve the quality of life proves that bitcoin is superior technology. Thanks for sharing.
I'd love the opportunity to discuss the intelligent case against BTC. In order for BTC to truly be accepted you need to step outside the echo chamber and discuss it with people who do not believe in it. This was a great discussion but nobody pressed Alex on the gaps in his beliefs, some of which he brought up.
Phenomenal!! What a great interview, you guys rock! Alex: what a superhuman! And to feel we are just getting started. By far my favorite podcast this year.
Bootstrapping energy grids is highly underappreciated aspect of Bitcoin mining, partly because western governments are subsidizing grids with taxes and taxpayers are mostly not avare.
As much as I agree with him, too many bitcoiners do not understand that dams are not a positive thing. They create cascading negative effectives to the local ecosystem and the ocean. Bring on a guest that can elucidate this help butcoiner get away from that concept. There are better ways
All large-scale power generation has a downside. Hydro is still 2nd best to Nuclear though, for sure. It's only political propaganda keeping that from being the dominant form of energy today.
This title is absurd. The ultimate use case is to have millions of transactions at low fees rather than the opposite to enrich the miners. In an UNCENSORABLE peer to peer ON CHAIN manner and that IS NOT lighting.
Bitcoin exchanges Pure Human Empathy, as part of a Human Construct that is designed to do the same via the Immutable Truth of the rules of the Universe. It doesn't matter what your background is Human Empathy for each other is exchangeable with the power of the Universe bearing whiteness to that Truth. Fin.
He's like an NGO Which has it's on agenda to manipulate public policy to their own bias ie similar to apl4bet people agenda etc. Nefarious dressed up as humanitarian
Regime change just like CIA under the guise humanitarianism. Fine he does some good but forments instability of a country I mean Putin bad but biden good communication America and the west disrupts the whole world
Civilized society itself is completely built on human rights, tf u talking about. You can make the argument that natural rights or God given rights don't exist and that argument can be made pretty well, but to say human rights don't exist you're living in la la land.
If forced into a binary response I would agree with you. But I still find your statement a bit reductive. We maintain the rights we are willing to fight for. For ourselves or for others.
@@kleinbottled79 I understand what ur trying to say with the beginning of ur statement but upon deeper analysis he cannot even be granted that. It is objectively true that human rights exist, even though we create them.
you'd have a point of btc was the one and only crypto. but there are several other, many of which are faster and cheaper than bitcoin. being first doesn't mean you'll win.
Also any innovation will eventually be built on a layer on top of Bitcoin. Today if you want to move small amounts, lightning already does suffice for most simple use cases. It works at today's scale but when adoption grows there will be another layer to handle that
@@ce5983 I agree, Bitcoin is the king, and most likely, always will be. BUT that’s as a store of value. It’s virtually impossible to say that a layer 2 will be used more widely than some other crypto. We don’t know what adoption will take place in the future. Again, I’ll reiterate, Bitcoin is number 1 as a store of value. Other uses, it’s not so clear if it will lead the way

Pure hope flowing from this one.
Thanks Guys!
We are just getting started.
Alex always reminds me of just how important Bitcoin is to soo many people. Great show Peter & Danny
Good job, important work by Alex which deserves being heard.

Your best show yet. Thank you Peter and Danny.
Alex is awesome. I love to go through the grants from the Human Rights Foundation and see the great projects.
Love gladstein! Super important angle to view bitcoin from! Great episode
Alex is the best. I could listen to him for hours. The Power use case is mind blowing. How can I support Gridless?
I love Alex....what a treasure of a human
Love this episode! Alex is a legit OG legend, and he obviously sees tons of usage that the 1st world can't even imagine. I really wish there were bigger and better ways to get his findings out there.
One of the most practical interview from the podcast in a while! Keep ‘‘em coming!
Soooo nice to get out of the Macro and financial eco chamber for a change. Fantastic show
By far, my favorite episode this year. Alex is amazing!

This is a very good episode.
Wow.
Great Interview.
Very Formative information. 🙏❤️
Excellent show, brilliant layout of all the things that Bitcoin is already doing throughout the world!
Another fantastic episode!!
Fantastic interview. Golden Billion, indeed.
Phenomenal show!!
Awesome show!
This is the most important video in history to make the world a better place. Everybody should listen to this. Thanks.
Alex tells the best stories. It seems he's very much condensed his messaging down for people to understand effect.

SPECTACULAR INTERVIEW ❤🎉
Hello thank you for this nice interview. Is it possible to have all the interview in PDF?

Great Job so easy to listen ...!!!!
You have put out some serious bangers lately. This one is no exception.
Awesome content!
I gotta send this to my financial advisor
One of the best.
Great chat. I’m going to have listen again :)
Bootstrapping energy grids is highly underappreciated aspect of Bitcoin mining, partly because western governments are subsidizing grids with taxes and taxpayers are mostly not avare.
I have so much obvious criticisms of all these points...firstly hardly any bitcoin even now is held in decentralised wallets!!
First! Love you pete and alex
What a great episode to use to help orange pill friends! Thanks guys!
Any chance of getting Roger Ver on? I'd like to hear exactly why and how he believes Bitcoin was "hijacked" (without needing to buy his book).
Just what we need; to get the guy who owns a media empire more on-air time! Maybe he can sling his book some more?
What will happen once all the bitcoin is mined or not worth it because so few bitcoin left?
Excellent. Thank you
The Definition Of Orange Pill. Amazing content, truly moving and inspirational.
1)We have financial privilege. 2) Bitcoin is bad for dictators. 3)Not mining wastes energy.
What is the Twitter account they are talking about? Archive thing with old pessimistic statements about electricity etc
Alex is awesome!
My orange pilling was done by Parker Lewis, Michael Saylor, Alex Goldstein and the research behind Bitcoin Mining using stranded energy.
I see Alex. I click.
As much as I agree with him, too many bitcoiners do not understand that dams are not a positive thing. They create cascading negative effectives to the local ecosystem and the ocean. Bring on a guest that can elucidate this help butcoiner get away from that concept. There are better ways
Just curious, is this true even if the dam is small like a beaver dam ?
All large-scale power generation has a downside. Hydro is still 2nd best to Nuclear though, for sure. It's only political propaganda keeping that from being the dominant form of energy today.
Yep! Bump >
The number one use case bsv
Peter has such a beautiful voice. It is perfect for broadcasting.
Gay
Why are you never publishing any source / contact of your guests?
Check your financial privilege.
Gladstein is so orange-pilled I'm surprised he doesn't walk around with a Cyclops visor.
Great interview.
his book was brilliant.
Bitcoin needs lots of innovation in the wallet department.
Thx
Bitcoin is a revolution.
18:09 - so not Canada? Gotcha
Mic drop!
See the crypto bros still hustling to make this happen, even tho BTC is older than tiktok, it's sad almost.
Btw, you're about to see what the most popular use cases is at the epoch block when ruins is deployed hold on to your hat there buddy!!!
Can you elaborate. Excuse my ignorance

Who is this guy?
he is an asset for 3 letter agencies
50 years ?
He lost me at Putin puppet! You claim be to super sceptical.. but then.. just parroting the mainstream media
+1

Why does HRF refuse to speak out about the genocide in Gaza
What are you talking about? They write about it, they are delivering aid to Gaza, etc.
Why does the HRF try to solve any problems if they can't solve EVERY problem? Am i right?
There is another episode also with Alex Gladstein called "How Bitcoin Helps Palestinians". One of my favorites
There is no Genocide in Gaza. But it is horrible Hamas used women and children as human shields and created military bases in Hospitals.
Gladstein…
There are no such thing as Human Rights.
There is no such thing. There are no such things.

None of them will hold value against Bitcoin over time. Bitcoin will win because it's the only thing that will do this

If you understand the blockchain trilema you would realize you're incorrect.
Why am I blocked?
Is BCH the real Bitcoin?
