@@olahaldor Since your making a typical norwegian barn , i think its very important to have that typical barn we have in norway -you drive into the barn where you can store , tractors equipments etc ...i hope you wll expand your farm in the future and make it even bigger and better ;) -btw - i am from norway so it means alot. There are already a couple barns where you can do this. However, sadly, many of the barns there are so small that they won't fit much, if they even can get a tractor in. Many were built before tractors came to town. :) For now I strive to make the farms feel natural and close to real life in size, which also brings sim limitations with it. Then there's the aspect of modeling interiors which is very demanding. For now, I focus on exteriors. Interiors can always be added any time later, should the building itself be big enough to fit a tractor. :)

@@ty1er785 I don't have a schedule. I stream at random when I have time and energy for it. The time I have to mod is after kids and wife have gone to sleep and my own bedtime. Usually 2-3 hours, also at random, but I try to do some every day. The map is playable to some degree right now. What's missing is a lot of the farm buildings (about 70-80 *unique* buildings if we count them all), some environment related stuff like rivers, bridges, rocks and cliffs.. :) What you're asking is, when is it out? I hope before summer.
I hope you're still making great progress and that you have started transferring the map succesfully into fs22. Your map looked amazing in the fs19 trailers.👍 Good luck for the fs22. Spend all the time you need for the making. Rushing is never good.

I know that when people put all the effort that it takes into a project like this they want to attract the largest audience possible, so you don't want to put on too many limits. I always that that when a map represents a specific geographical location, the crops you can grow should be limited to things that will actually grow in that area. I know the player can put those limits on himself, but the map maker probably has a better idea of what would grow than the average player would. Looking forward to this one when it comes out. Thanks for all the hard work.

Hey bud I got the new update on your map and there are invisable building showing up down by the shop. And i took all mods off except your buildings and it is still doing it.
All ground textures are custom by now. I guess you mean the roads could use some more definition on the sides and the middle, as with the asphalt roads? 🤔 I have "make gravel/dirt road mesh" on the task list but it's not on the top. It is more demanding than the other roads because of many reasons, both art and tech. For one; it can't kick up dirt and dust, which I understand from my testers is desirable. :) It's a trade off.
@@mantas69420 I see. Well there are things I can't do due to the map size (it gets a bit technical, but it has to do with pixel density and terrain tessellation). And there are tricks I can do to overcome these limitations, but that's not a priority at the moment. Custom mesh for every single dirt road will take a lot of time, and might not turn out to be as good as we hope. For one, custom mesh won't kick dirt and dust, making your equipment dirty, nor does it look as good when you drive on it, even though the road itself looks good. :)
Just incredible... the map project itself is amazing on it's own, but your video presentation makes professional game companies look poor in comparison.
Lately I prefer to play with smaller machines and I think this will be a good map for my fascination with small machines. I think the map will have a lot of interest.

It's quite impressive considering the scale of the map. Yesterday I drove my tractor on a 4097x4097 pixels map with 1.8 units per pixel. Although it has terrain with a valley not that wide as yours, I became aware of the distance and the time it took to drive the vehicle from one point to another with the default vehicle speed. And in the middle of driving that terrain, I was thinking: 'it will probably take me a year or two to complete such map' - considering all the details per square meter that have to be precisely placed and added into a large real-world-scale scenery. It's easy to put a terrain into GIANTS Editor and it looks like a tiny square in the editor's window. And then you launch it in FS19 and start driving...and realize...this is huge.. LOL! I'm impressed that Rennebu is based on real-world data, and I wonder to this day why GIANTS Software made the game engine available for modders to make larger maps when they themselves are still holding on to 1025x1025 - 2 units per pixel maps. I guess it's because of marketing reasons and performance limitations for each platform. FS22 will probably give modders some new features (hopefully) and better rendering performance. I would be surprised the day GIANTS Software release anything bigger, considering that their game engine is unbelievably powerful. So the limitations are on the modders themselves and how much work they want to put into a mod. When it comes to Rennebu, I would say: 'That's a lot of work...' LOL! The map ends just next to the intersection where you chose whether to go to Berkåk or to Rennebuskogen, so there's no Berkåk, sadly. :( You could argue "make the map larger!". I've already crossed the line where I'm pushing the engine beyond its limits in its current (FS19) state. Frankly I'm not too familiar with farming possibilities on or around Berkåk, but I guess forestry could be an option, where Berkåk is at the core of the map, and the forests stretch towards the edge? If you think that would be of interest, I'll certainly consider that for a future map!
Oh man the hard work is really starting to show, not only is this a breathtaking mod in its own right but personally having been to all the places in this video I can attest to how accurate of an representation it is. I might be way off, but is 0:40 Hurrundsjøveien?
Could have been. It's a road leading up from Gunnesgrenda. I don't recall exactly, but I think it might be the one leading up to Barnas Naturverden. Hurundsjøen sadly isn't part of the map because it's just on the edge of where the map ends. :) A bit of the road leading to it is there though.
This map is stunning and I like the logging aspect of it. Unfortunately the only gripe I have is that it feels a little dead. I understand you're trying to keep it as authentic as possible, but there should almost be a town in the north and south to add some life to the map. Keep up the amazing work though and I cant wait to see what's to come.
Thanks :) If you look at the area in a map, you'll see there is no town. And I will not add one. There are 100+ buildings (spread across loads of farms) I have yet to add though. There are things in the works but it's not ready yet :)

Can't promise whether it will be added later. It depends a lot on what is released and supported in FS22 by the time I release the map. :)

You'll have plenty choice. Not all farms will have animal pens, but I don't think I will hit the limit by default.
