  • Danger!!! Antique Grain Elevator Tour!!
I will show you my family's 1933 historic grain elevator at our Montana farm. In the first part my dad explains how everything worked and even where the antique trucks unloaded the grain. You will see the dangerous man lift and go right to the top of the old elevator. The Montana views are spectacular.
In the second part my Grandpa tells all about how he used to use the old grain elevator. Even where a big grain truck fell through the dumping station and tipped over inside the grain elevator. It was the only day he wasn't standing right beside the truck unloading. You will see all the signatures on the wall from the 1930's to today. My signature is there too. New windows are being installed in the elevator. My dad flies the drone over so you can see a bird's eye view of everything. Thank you for watching and be sure to ring the bell and subscribe to my channel.

    My Story…
Hello. My name is Kate Stephens, and I am a 16-year-old 4th generation farmer. My family has been farming wheat in north-central Montana since my great grandfather immigrated from Denmark in 1912 and homesteaded our land. My family has been teaching me about farming since I was two years old. I run one of the combines on the farm at harvest. I believe that it is important for everyone to know where their food comes from and the families who produce it. I love our farm, and I hope that my Farm to Fashion and Farm to Table products can help educate people about where their food comes from in a fun way. That is how Kate's Ag became a reality. I hope you love my products as much as I do because this is an extension of our farm and the grains we have been growing to feed other families for over one hundred years.

I’m a news subscriber in my mid 70’s but while I laugh about Kate’s “egg” (odd pronunciation) I couldn’t figure out why I was captured by this channel! I’ve figured out that these segments are about family working together for everyone’s benefit. It’s also about good men! Real Montana men who work hard and deal with bad weather, machine breakdowns and doing it all under the Big Sky of Montana. But most of all I love Kate’s relationships with the men in her life AND her willingness to try new things under her dad’s watchful, patient but instructive care! I was raised in two farming communities and always loved big trucks and farming. Thanks for great segments on American eggriculture 😍!

I grew up on a farm and as a little boy, back in the 50s I can still remember my dad taking me with him to the grain elevators. I was always in awe of them. Then as an adult, I moved from Ontario to Calgary, Alberta and all the way driving out west, I loved looking at the old prairie grain elevators. Most people would be taking pictures of the scenery, I was taking pictures of the grain elevators. To this day, I am still fascinated by them. Your dad said in the video "old and decrepit", I think they are beautiful.

Thank you Kate for your videos of farm life. I was fortunate to live on a farm growing up in the 80’s and 90’s, I see how much technology has changed! Your old combine was just rolling off the line when I left farming to head off to university.
That moisture tester, in the grainery, was just like the one our neighbor had. Such cool antique technology of the past.
Every spring and fall I still get “farming fever” and wish I could find a farm to work on even just for a few days.
Thank you for the memories, and all you are doing to teach THIS era about where our food comes from!

You, my dear Kate, come from a long line of Incredible farmers. Geniuses level farmers!
To create a 100 plus year of grain elevator like this, that has stood the test of time in Montana, expose to the Montana elements is truly amazing!
Please do all you have to have your dad, uncles, Grandpa teach you as much as they can!
I love how you are documenting everything, and doing your very best to share with as many as you can!
Home stead farmers are a very different kind, and breed of person! Super smarter then your average people!
In homesteading you have to literally do everything! I know this because the Family my sister Tracey Married into is named Dunkleberg! They are a historical Canton, NY Family, they goes back 225 years of farming in NYS. They diary farmed up until the price of milk per lb dropped below $1.00 per lb on in NYS. That was back on the early 90s. So they switch to raising angus, and Holstein beef cows for meat.
At the moment their herd is 65. I spoke to my sister yesterday, and the price of calves is between $250.00 to $350.00 dollars. I love as you do workin g on the farm! The ability to do for yourself, to work the land, raise the animals for market, passion you see before your own eyes as things grow! Then you bring them to the market place. Sadly folks don’t appreciate where their food stuffs come from, and how they get to market!
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for sharing all that you do so folks can learn!
How has the generations of women you are born into, truly impacted your life, what amazing lessons have you learned from them?
Please keep up the amazing work!

On my recent trip through Montana I saw these old elevators so this is so interesting seeing this history. Where I'm from Mpls which was where all that Wheat went to and Mpls was known as the Bread Basket of the United States.

Well..how about that, history lessons for all, your grand pop is a legend. Your grand pop and your dad's generation built a great country, and I reckon your going to keep up the tradition. This history of the past deserves to be remembered and preserved, your really so lucky to see your families roots, please keep it up.
