For those curious, this is a cave that was opened in 1930s for tours, closed in 2005. There is also a cave above (about 200ft) that takes tours to this day. The top cave was found on accident as the guy was drilling in search of this cave here in the video. In 1920s they built the train tunnel that covered the natural entrance that was around since the ice age. Fast forward now, and Soot and smoke from the trains polluted this cave and was deemed unsafe. This cave he is in now is famous, and has been around since the ice age, with bones found dating back to millions of years ago. I’m local to this. Didn’t want to give any names of the cave in case the poster didn’t want it out.

I don't believe it's owned by these explorers and from all the talk ive heard it's owned by possibly state and they plan on shutting it down and these guys have already mentioned about the scum pigs that can't pick up after themselves and instead of enjoying the beauty of this site they have to destroy it. Id just like to know where it is so that maybe someday if things would just go right for a change i wouldnt mind exploring it myself.

There was a time that when these caves would be found on private property and the land owner would open them up to tourism hoping to make money, adding pathways, lighting, ladders, etc. Looks like what you found is just that, an old tourist location. Owners would actually compete for tourists and advertise. If they found their cave linked to a neighboring cave, they'd collapse/block the tunnel so the neighbor couldn't use "their" cave system for visitors. You'd never get away with that now, given the lawsuits that would come through injury.

Brandon Gross posted his video exploring this cave a few months after you guys (late May, '21). Then posted a part 2 in Aug. 2021, so if they sealed the tunnel opening, it had to have been after then. He also found what he thought was the top of the elevator shaft, but a commenter said it's a manmade tunnel that leads back to the elevator, once used as an emergency exit. It's surrounded by a metal-sided shed sticking out of the mountainside, next to a highway.
Someone said the original owners gave up on this section of the cave when they discovered a better part and developed that instead.

That is either made in some very unknown manner,.. or truly ancient waterway now raised up above the surface. Crazy.

It’s dangerous as all get out to be down inside of a mine wearing a pack on your back!! And here’s why. We all know that with the kind of exploring that you do, in many places you are inside very very tight quarters. And many times you’re on your stomach squeezing your way through.
You can easily get yourself in a situation where you’re jammed up, / hemmed in. And all of a sudden you can’t go forward and you can’t go back because the pack that is on your back is now jammed on the very low ceiling right above you.
When that happens it’s natural many times you push even harder to break through and all you wind up doing is wedging yourself in!!!! EVEN TIGHTER!! Then panic sets in!!! i’ve done enough reading to know that men have been found dead in this position because of that damn pack on their back.
It needs to be taken off and shoved in front of you if you’re on your belly. This is just common sense and there’s no way I would ever go down inside of a mine to start off with. But I’ve seen videos of guys like you that almost, Almost, got caught / wedged in.
