I'm watching this while crying because of nausea. I feel nauseous literally everyday and I didn't find any cure.
me too:( im crying right now as well i get nauseous everyday and i dont know whats wrong with me
for me it's bc of stress...i get really sick before online classes,exams..maybe it's a similar thing for you guys
@Zoey literally me I feel nauseous even when I ate dinner :((( I started to eat good and drink plenty of water and give myself a pill but didn’t work :((
Me too:(
same , i’ve been struggling for a year , and i’m fed up of it and need help
I think you should look into doing a Ted Talk. You are and would be so inspirational for so many people. You're a hero....
I agree with this and think it would be so fantastic!
That is very kind of you, thank you! Not sure how one does that haha x
Yes you really should!
Definatly TED worthy perspectives and ideas worth sharing
I agree
I have emetophobia (phobia of vomiting) which causes me such intense anxiety it literally rules my life sometimes. These tips really help me feel like I can worry about it less 🥰
I has emetophobia too. I haven't tried any of these but I usually eat only saltines when I'm feeling nauseous. Something about it absorbing the bad/access acid in your stomach.
I recommend looking into getting a book about curing emetophobia. I used to have one as a kid and I can say that the book saved me from a lot of fear. I can’t tell you that it actually cured me fully but one things for sure is that I don’t spend 100% of my time worrying about throwing up anymore. The only time I worry is when it’s literally happening and then I get over it during vomiting. The reason I’m saying to attempt to get one of those books is because I have noticed that my emetophobia came from my own mental health meaning when I even thought about vomiting I would scare myself into feeling nauseous and it scared me. I’m able to control it now and I’ve been great. But not all cases are mental health. One things for sure is that I hope you and everyone who even sees this video finds a way to stop the nausea. Nausea is worse than the vomiting itself
@@foncymemories2824 whats the book called
Same but it only took me to projectile vomit everywhere to prove that I wouldn’t have to feel scared about being sick coz nausea is sooo much worse
Thankyou so much for this video. I suffer from severe anxiety and OCD, and one of the physical symptoms of my anxiety is near constant nausea and lack of appetite. This video was actually really helpful and I just wanted to let you know and say a big thankyou.
You're so welcome, I hope it helps x
Anxiety meds helped me with this! I always felt like I had to puke or immediately make my butt sweat and cause diarrhea
@@athghost2256 Which one were you on? I was on paroxetine, but I gained so much weight.... Couldn't fit in my clothes anymore. Also my stool started to be fucked up... Now I am off it, but nauseous a lot again...
@@RoozB14 medication is a personal experience but after the manic phase of a week on Zoloft, it helped me
@@athghost2256 They do increase appetite.. Just a hell to get on them... and off...
honestly rn i’m just on the bathroom floor scared that i might throw up:,)
Did it happen?
😬 me too 😫
Love how my YT obsessed brain thought THIS was the best way to search for ways to curb my nausea... I knew it was a mistake as soon as I was holding my mouth while trying to get thru her long af intro 😵
*GIVE ME THE TIPS FASTER PLZZZZ* 😂
same... throwing up is my biggest fear
I'm sitting in bed with a bucket, just waiting- Having emitophobia really doesnt help >
literally same .. i drinked to much..
i’m literally watching this while drooling into a cup💀💀😭
I hope you get the assistance you need and feel better soon 😊
Feel better ❤️
Literally in the bathroom watching this, whole drooling in a cup as well. 🙄🤮

god your smile just helps me so much, as a teenager struggling with feeling sick all the time, along with anxiety and a GIANT fear of throwing up- you are such a help. for the hour or so ive been feeling sick your the person whos made me feel the best out of all that time... thank you
honestly i relate to this so much. i’m almost 15 and for the past couple of weeks i’ve been feeling sick every time i eat. i’ve had blood tests and my parents are considering taking me to a specialist because i literally can’t eat anything. i’ve lost so much weight. i have no idea why this has happened all of a sudden but i feel awful as i type this and also have a phobia of throwing up. i hope your situation got better though :)
Sometimes the suffering is so unbearable that I force myself to throw up but my greatest fear is throwing up and not feeling better afterwards

Frozen berries are something that’s always worked for me...Not sure why haha. Particularly when suffering nausea from methotrexate :)
Thanks for this video, you’re such a huge help and inspiration for other chronic illness warriors!
Annika Victoria omg I take methotrexate too
i used to take methotrexate. as someone with a really bad emetaphobia, i’d cry every time. i might have to take it again and i’m sooo scared
@@ashal7482 ive been on methrotrexate for almost 4-5 years now (eczema) and I really wish i knew what I know now when i started haha but
a) make sure you eat a GOOD amount of food when you take it!! i once took my dose without breakfast and almost collapsed a few hours later from the nausea... not good...
b) if you do get ill: i highly recommend mint for it (i find gum works if you cant find anything else but i agree with jess and annika, mints and fresh mint tea works wonders too). I havent tried the diet coke trick but I can imagine it working and might try it for myself next time.
another thing but idk if it'd be entirely relevant for everyone, but i take folic acid a few days after my trexate dose. Turns out in my first few years i wasnt actually taking enough and once i started having the right amount it also helped with it A LOT.
anyway, i know this is an old-ish comment but, i hope you didn't have to take trexate again, and if ya do, good luck! u got this!
@@ashal7482 same I hate vomit
I used to take it too and it was terrible I'm talking like up till 5am sobbing from nausea
My daughter had Leukaemia and suffered nausea, she would get me to go across Birmingham children hospital from oncology ward in the middle of the night to get her coke from the machine(she liked it cold) and it's a very spooky hospital at night, sometimes that's all we could get her to drink/eat bless her. See a genius at 2half years old.
oh cold is definitely best! Your daughter is very clever x
Thank you yes she wasx
Was.?... oh dear, did she pass away? Xx
ashleigh fallon maybe im thinking of ‘was’ as referring to the period when she was 2?
I'm sorry, my mistake x
I come back to this video every time I've had a like 4 hour session of throwing up, passing out and feeling nauseas and it just makes me feel so much better. I rarely actually do the tips but Jessica is so soothing xxxx
It feels horrible.
Regarding the werthers'/gaviscon synergy: it may simply be that the sweets trigger saliva production and the secretion of a wider range of digestive enzymes than would have been present had you just taken the gaviscon alone. This would result in a more efficient breakdown of the sodium alginate in the gaviscon pill that binds the ingredients together. Therefore, the active ingredients (calcium and salts) will be directly exposed to the oesophagus and to the stomach lining as soon as they reach it, compared to if the pills had just been swallowed where the active ingredients would not have been able to do anything until they had reached the erosive pit that is your stomach. Delightful!
(I came here to have a break from studying for uni exams but look what you've done to me)! That aside, this video is great. Peppermint tea is the only thing that keeps me going these days but you've given me lots of new ideas so thank you. And as a general note while I'm here I must tell you that I adore all of your videos, your hair(!!!), your dogs, your wife (lol), your smile and most of all your enthusiasm and positivity. Relatable, inspiring and admirable on so many levels! I wish you all the happiness and success in the world Jessica. ❤

Just listening to you talk helps my nausea 😭it brings me comfort knowing I'm not the only one struggling with this daily! 💖
If you know you are going to throw up, eat some vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt. Not only will it coat your throat as you eat it slightly protecting it from the stomach acid, when it comes up it doesn't hurt or taste as bad.
Slightly off topic, but if you have strep throat, creme savers or hard werthers will coat your throat and it won't hurt as bad.
Katie Reads the strep tip is brilliant! I was lucky enough to have strep twice last year and the idea of cough candies was dreadful. I will definitely try that next time, not that I will get strep again... positive thinking
Vanilla ice cream or yogurt sound horrible when nauseous. Sorry
Creme savers tend to help ease my nausea as well as coat my throat. especially the orange creme.💚
My best tips are:
Fresh air
Kneeling on hands and knees
Hot water bottle
Kombucha!
B Thank you! I really appreciate this, i never thought of using a hot water bottle, it helped a lot
Shrek Chan a hot bath can also work wonders if you have the time (I wouldn't do it when you're slightly dizzy in addition to the sickness, as it can make it worse then)
Jojo Moep Thank you! :)
And coke syrup
Kneeling on hand and knees will only actually make you sick, tho :(

I suffered with bad acid reflux and slight nausea but when I started drinking probiotics my stomach and digestive system has improved a lot!
I think a lot of these work because they fill your stomach. If you have an empty stomach it can make nausea far worse. That's why pregnant women have morning sickness. It's because their stomach is empty after not eating so long. Just eating a few crackers or a piece of toast can really help with nausea caused by an empty stomach even though you might not feel like eating anything.

I work on a train for about 8 hours every day, and I constantly feel nauseous before and during the train runs. I have been trying weird anti nausea pills and odd treatments like acupuncture points. But I do have to say the peppermint tea and oil under my nose has worked the absolute best!

Coke syrup is actually what a lot of people used in the fifties as an anti-emetic - my mom is on the older side, so that's what we got as kids! You may find that FLAT Diet Coke (leave a bottle open overnight) might work even better!
I've had severe nausea for years, good thing I work from home. I found cutting out certain foods that aggravate GERD symptoms has helped reduce it a lot but not 100%. I also found going for a daily walk helped a little. I really feel like I'm never going to be nausea free though and as soon as I break my diet it causes severe nausea.

I've been struggling with nausea for the majority of my life. I tried a few treatments, both natural and medications, but they never work the way I want them to. I'm having another bad bout recently and remembered your hack about protein powder and sweetner-- and WOW did it work!! Not only did it stop the feeling of nausea, but I was able to eat afterwards without it returning full force!! You've just saved my life with that.

For anybody worried about the environmental impact of straws, steel ones are an excellent substitute for the throwaway plastic. I love your videos!
Most of my life, I have had nausea and terrible stomach aches. When I was pregnant, I lost thirty pounds from severe "morning" sickness that lasted pretty much twenty-four hours a day. Later on, I lost eighty pounds from throwing up daily before I could get a referral to a GI specialist-- "Are you sure it isn't just nerves? Maybe you need to de-stress." Now I have medicine and a restricted diet (along with interesting photos of my innards).
Sometimes throwing up is inevitable. For those times, I've found that plain vanilla ice cream, soda, and apples/applesauce are the least unpleasant things to vomit. Definitely avoid broccoli and cheese if you are certain you're going to hurl. Switching what comfort foods you eat when nauseated can keep you from associating that particular food/drink with nausea. When I was pregnant, I tended to eat Cheerios to settle my stomach. Eventually I started getting sick from even the smell of Cheerios. This won't work for folks who have sensitivity issues with temperature, but cooling my face also helps if I feel really terrible.
this is actually a saviour at the moment since my health hasn't been great recently
You exude such class of confidence, and your enunciation is a joy to listen to
Watched this whole video just cause i liked the way she sounded. I can listen to her talk all day
I have emetophobic (fear of throwing up/watching others throw up) and I think it comes from the fact that I had a bad experience with it growing up and also I’ve only thrown up twice in my life. I think my fear comes from the fact that the first time I threw up it was completely unexpected and random, there were no symptoms before or after (at least none that I can remember) and also because I’ve only thrown up twice it is still an uncommon and scary experience because I’m not familiar with it. I hope to go to therapy one day to get treatment. I read that therapy can help people manage their emetophobia for if and when they inevitably do throw up due to any circumstance. I find comfort in that, thinking about how the solution to this isn’t to prevent or stop throwing up but to stop the fear. This video helped me, not because I necessarily had to use the anti nausea tips but because it showed me that throwing up isn’t the end of the world and that I can’t let this fear hold me back.
I literally just started crying watching this...I have had a month of ongoing 24/7 nausea and today I just wasn't able to eat at all, and when you said the pain is so much worse than vomiting...nobody seems to understand how painful this is and I have been gaslighting myself into thinking I'm exaggerating. Trying to force food past the pain when I normally really enjoy eating is just so sad
i’m in the same situation rn- i really hope you eventually got better :)

Thank you so much for these!! I am so grateful. I’ve been nauseous on and off for 3 days now (no clue why!) and the peppermint trick really does help
also, drinking beverages through straws adds more air into your stomach and can make dyspepsia (the tummy aching feeling that often comes with nausea) much worse. if you are avoiding staining your teeth, sure, understandable. but might not be the best tip on managing a tummy ache

Ginger is bloody amazing, I keep a whooooooole lot of ginger biscuits and peppermint tea/sweets in the house. Recently made a mistake trying to have the ginger Pepsi instead, I suddenly remembered why I’m not a fan of that root beer sort of stuff.
Thank you for this, I’ve non stop been feeling nauseous for the past week
This is actually super helpful. I'm constantly nauseous, and I really don't know why. It's been this way pretty much my whole life. A few of these I already know about and use, but some I had no idea! Thank you for this ❤️
Hi! Let me know how the tips work for you, glad you liked the video x
I’m so confused: I was in my living room and felt nauseous asf then when I went in the bathroom just Incase I was gonna throw up but the minute I sat down I felt like I was in heaven 🤣
My boyfriend was so sick and the protein powder and sugar thing worked immediately! Thank you so much!
I actually have a few of different chronic illness, and one of the symptoms I get from them and one of my meds is nausea. I’m excited to give these all a try! Thank you!!
Thank you for this Jessica! I suffer with nausea due to medical issues and medication. I've done diet coke, ginger and peppermint so far. 😊
Omg! It’s SO exciting to know that I’m not the only person that experiences constant daily nausea!
I can agree with all of your suggestions. I also use THC vape cartridges for really intense nausea.
When my nausea is at its worst, my THC indica Vape (which I get from a medical dispensary so it's good) will actually cause me to throw up insantly. I've been bedridden for 2 days and can't imagine using my vape during this time.. which is weird because it used to be my nausea cure !! I also heard THC causes cyclic vomiting if used every day... So I guess everyone is different. I never see others complain of nausea, so it's releiving to see others unite through this and help each other. All the best xoxo
You remind me a lot of my first girl crush and I just realized, both talk very similar and have kind of the same mannerisms, I guess now I know why I just enjoy watching your videos so much 😂😅
Such a great video, thank you! I have severe IBS-C, and am usually nauseous for at least part of the day. These tips rock! I’ve found strong ginger ale really helps. Like Reeds Ginger Ale in the states, it’s totally my rock. The carbonation, and ginger together are great. Adore your videos, you guys are awesome!😁
Sitting here at 4am puking, w emetophobia, this video is bringing me some comfort. Your voice is so soothing, ty for the tips xo
I have emetophobia too, it's so bad 😔
A big problem for me is that I don't actually have a cause for my nausia/stomach cramps (that we can find yet). If I'm really careful about what I eat and when, I can control it to an extent, but if one thing goes slightly wrong, I will be sick to the point where I can't even think about drinking water. And the only way to fix it is to eat and drink certain types of foods...
So for those of you who struggle to get down whatever it is that helps tame your nausia, here's your tip for the day! Always be obsessed with a Netflix series, youtuber, something you can watch and listen to (engage at least two senses) while you're eating/drinking said thing. It'll distract you enough to get it down without being sick everywhere.
If watching videos is making it worse, listen to music while reading or listen to an audiobook and run one hand/foot over an interesting texture. Focus on two senses that aren't taste. And for some reason, earbuds can make it worse? I think it's cause the sound moves back and forth in many cases. So if sounds can sometimes make you sick, try without the earbuds/headphones.
Saying this....i know its weird but it actually works!! You are brilliant
I feel better just listening to you💗💗
I love how Jessica speaks😍😍😍😍
I’m already diagnosed with (severe) IBS but I’m also very likely to be diagnosed soon with CFS soon too. The nausea is driving me nuts! Thank you so much!

Jessica, thank you so much for these tips. I’ve been prescribed hydrocodone after a surgery and it made me so earth meltingly nauseous (if that makes sense). When I found that that you had a video about this, I knew you were going to save me, haha. I started with your first tip of steeping ginger in hot water and 2/3rd of my way through the glass… IT WORKED. Thank you! 💛💛💛
For anyone allergic to artificial sweeteners (ie: me), regular coke works a little bit too. Also liquid gaviscon. Also also warm honey and lemon juice.
Yes, the coca-cola works because it has phosphoric acid! :) Anti-emetics consist basically of phosphoric acid, fructose(fruit sugar) and dextrose(starch). So you can try pairing drinking your coke with a carb you know doesn't give you stomach problems like rice, oats, noodles or toast and you've got a make-due antiemetic.
I'm so glad I found this! Very helpful as I am chroniclly ill too ❤
This is so useful! Any time I take antibiotics, I get terrible stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and other end troubles. Usually Zofran would fix it, but last time it didn't. Hopefully these will help the next time I'm ill.
Activated charcoal is a big one in our house. Works so well, particularly with a stomach bug or food reactions. Regular Coke always works, too. My mom always had me drink Coke *slowly* when I was sick to my stomach growing up. Still works!
The protein powder thing is interesting. I’d love to hear other people’s experiences with it.
I'm pretty sure that activated charcoal does work but do not take it if you take medication, the character absorbs the medication
I've had nausea pretty much all day for as long as I can remember partially from medication I'm on now but also partially because my body does that I don't know why. I never thought to ask anyone because I was a child and just thought that was how everyone felt. Sometimes it makes it extremely difficult to go to school or pay attention because I'm just thinking "don't throw up don't throw up don't throw up" but mostly it's just there.
Have you gone to the doctor ,chronic nausea can be from anxiety but also it can be a neurological problem, don't suffer in silence ,there is many anti EMETICS that work ,wish you all the best, nausea is the worst feeling in the world
Thanks to your advice i actually made it out of the house today ! Thank you so much for sharing something that works!
I love that you do some signing with your videos!
