    Cookies are stored in the browser you're using, but the data that cookie gathers is stored on the website you're browsing not the browser.

    Can I use the CCPA act if I’m not a California resident? If I want to make a request, do I just email the website and say I want to access my data / have them delete it? Thank you!

      Yeah, it is opt-out so you have privacy controls on the social/digital platforms to ask not to have your info stored/used -- and to be deleted.

      Ideally your website consent manager service allows you to speak to both 1st and 3rd party cookie usage, however, you are not required to use these in all markets. If you are in EU and subject to GDPR or in California with CCPA you will need to disclose all tracking (1st and 3rd party).

      It's a 3rd party pixel technically, that they found a work around to make Browsers think it's a 1st party pixel.

    @Market&Hustle, thank you for such an insightful explanation. Though 3rd party cookies are not phased out yet.
    However, whenever I am trying to download a doc from my Google Drive, I get "third party cookie blocked' icon in the url's search bar.
    Any thought on that? Will phasing out 3rd party cookies unable one to download files from cloud storage?

      Basically -- :/ but there are new innovations in 1st party data, many big companies like New York Times and Walgreens in the U.S. are developing their own technologies with partners to use their own customer data more effectively.

    I have a question, though. If I put a Google Analytics code into my website and track my visitors` behavior through that, are Google`s cookies in use? If so, is Google in that example a third party or what? It is me using it in the end, but still, it is not my own cookies?

    So CCPA is very similar to GDPR?

      Sort of, but in an opposite way. CCPA requires a consumer to take the initiative, while GDPR the advertiser has to be proactive and let the consumer know that their data is being used, and how, and give them a way out.

      Yes, it is stored on the browser but it can be set or deleted on the server remotely on every time you request , that's the point of the cookies. With local storage you can't do all that

      Well if u brows in a website that has share and like bottons, it most likely has a cookie from facebook so that it can track ur activity on that website, thus having those adds pop on fb. Tho Im not sure how this works with YT since it doesn’t inform u about the usage of cookies on u yet ads related to the videos u usually watch pop up on FB. I hope someone can explain this to us :)
      Or maybe Im just lazy and need to look for the answer myself xD

      The website allows other companies to track you, but that is changing now. Safari blocks cookies, and soon Chrome will too!

    Hi.. Nice video , suppose that i have 100 pages on my website and i would like to know all the first / third party cookies loading on my site and what info they are collecting.. Is there any tool to track this data ?

      A 3rd party cookie, would be installed by you to collect info (i.e. Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, Etc.) And yes, chrome has extensions to track each social pixel and other tags (Facebook Pixel Helper, Tag Assistant by Google).

      Ad blockers only block ads from websites, and will not block ads within social media platforms. The platforms are powered by ads as these companies don't operate for free :)
