The only feature that even seems useful is a notification that the door is open, other than that what's the point of having a smart fridge?
They will send an alert if there is a power outage. That's a pretty good trick since my wifi router and fiber modem will be down as well.

Sears will declare bankruptcy in perhaps as little as a few months, so investments in their products may not be a good idea. If so, lifetime guarantees, or warrantees, etc may not be valid beyond this date. Like toys 'r us, their suppliers have refused to ship without being paid up front, a sure sign of imminent collapse. Sears Canada is also suffering a similar breakdown, but have entered first into the breach of contracts via bankruptcy.
Well on the upside, when Sears liquidate all their products, you may as well buy the fridge at a nice discount. I doubt anything will happen to cause the fridge to stop working for a good 10-15 years (Unless you have children)
Sears is on the verge of bankruptcy. I don't know about handing them money for something that is going to need firmware updates.
I must be getting old, I don’t want or need to pay hundreds of dollars extra for any appliance with WiFi. One morning in the not too distant future people are going to be waking up to a refrigerator that’s shut down, all the food spoiled, a coffee maker that won’t brew, a toaster that won’t toast, no clean clothes while waiting for a repairman or software patch because some a hole hacked everything and ruined it just for fun
