"Never Let Me Down" was my first Bowie album when I was in high school. Saw "The Glass Spider" tour that Bowie went on to promote it. Loved the album then, and love it now. Looking forward to the "new" version.
Can't wait to hear the new 2018 Never Let Me Down from the new Loving the Alien box set. Love hearing about all these details about the tracks. Awesomeness.😊
I credit Reeves Gabrels with really bringing out Bowie's creativity during the early 90's. He got him to think more artistically about music again, rather than just commercially.
Is that the new version of "Time Will Crawl" in the background? It sounds really good! I kinda wish he had redone the album while he was alive, and even brought Peter Frampton in for it again. Lord knows Peter wasn't doing much in 2008.
Oh, believe me, I know. I'm a huge fan of his. I just saw him live with Steve Miller Band a few months ago. But he didn't release an album between 2006 and 2011, so he probably would've been available if Bowie had wanted to recreate the album. Both of their styles had advanced so much in 20 years that it would've been neat to hear how it would've turned out.
I enjoy the original version of Time Will Crawl a lot, but I'm still looking forward to hearing the new one, especially after hearing more about the backstory of the new version!
Now granted I actually don't mind the original album it had it's hits and misses but after listening to the new versions of Zeroes and Beat of your drum along with the 2008 remake of time will crawl I'm very much looking forward to hearing the rest of the new version of never let me down.
A lot of music suffered from 80s production. I think mainly because there was so much new technology which the producers still hadn't come out of the honeymoon phase with, which led to the use of a bit too many popular sounds instead of maybe what was the most fitting for the song. Much later the advent of auto tuner also initiated a similar period of sub par production.

Always intriguing, not necessary... still, if Bowie himself weren't making these inroads himself on this project, then it's all the tinkering of a record company... but the man, himself, felt it necessary... so let's hear it... still I like 1987 as it was
He said ten years later...? Foesnt he mean 30? I saw some video where the host breaks down Let’s Dance and he mentions Stevie Ray Vaughn’s guitar work. He says that he died 9 years after bowing out of the Serious Moonlight Tour. I don’t think it is accurate but I cannot do much about it that I know of.
Really wish they made these mini-episodes for the previous box sets. Not to tarnish this era of his talent, but his music had pretty evidently declined by this point, compared to 1969-1980 at least. Seeing these videos during his lesser-known Station to Station era would've been extremely interesting (since Ziggy is already well documented).
During StS I would definitely say so, Bowie didn't talk a lot about the experience afterwards in interviews as well so this would be difficult to pull off.
He didn't consent to this. Saying, offhand, 'oh we should do a couple tracks maybe' is NOT an excuse to run forward with this. I dig Reeves a lot. But Mario, taking the okay of doing this track is not permission to remake the entire record.
Yes he is not happy with this album in that time, but this!? He want to publish demo of album Never Let me down, not this, this is worst of any mix and remix, this is not of him, please 😑
Nope you did a very bad job, the only 2 songs that work are TWC (Bowie had the final word) and Zeroes, the rest is just bad bad, you took some of the best elements from them and shoved in some annoying overplayed strings !! Thumbs down !!
Couldnt disagree more with Mcnulty´s production... I really like the 80s production with the drum machine on the record.... in this version they kill that spirit... I prefer 100 thousand times the 1987 version. Please producers, change and get back to some of the 80s sonic ideas!
These mini vids are so interesting!
They are. It's wonderfully intimate to get an inside view.
Aren't they wonderful?!
Bowie is a God
Not. Is a Alien!

no, actually frampton has continued to make music and tour throughout the 2000s and 2010s and is doing well.

Time Will Crawl was amazing. David may not have been satisfied, but damn. Amazing music.
We're all our worst critics, after all.

R.I.P DAVID BOWIE✝🙏🌷😘👏👏👏👏👍😉
Yay.
Боуи невозможно понять... И невозможно не любить...
Sadly, David left the best songs as b-sides: Girls (also given to Tina Turner), and Julie.
that is true as i always felt the b-sides were much better than some of the material on the album.
Julie a good song that is so underrated
when the wind blows?
Something that also happens in Hours, "We All Go Through" and "We Shall Go To Town" are really good
@@positivelycurvedpikachu When the Wind Blows was specifically written for the film When the Wind Blows.

Aaaahhhhhh
Are they going to fix Too Dizzy?
why? that song was shit. that's the worst song bowie ever wrote. he thought it was shit too.
I love too dizzy!
there's too much talking 😀
Please legend in portuguese BR. I love DB.
ruth claudia duvido muito que vão legendar isso futuramente, mas a esperança é a última que morre, né?

He meant working on the album ten years after David called him in 2008.

Agreed!
There is probably a lack of footage similar to this? Maybe
During StS I would definitely say so, Bowie didn't talk a lot about the experience afterwards in interviews as well so this would be difficult to pull off.
I dont like mess mix with db old albums, they are that they are!
I always felt that Never Let Me Down got an unearned bad rap.
STABLE COCONUT REACTOR ACHIEVED.

Beat Your Drum??!! Excuse me, video maker, get the name of the song right ;)
Great songs? GREAT... SONGS? Too Dizzy? Ugh.

One pathetic and insecure person who hates themselves and feels necessary to project it on to us too.
