Thank you so much for this video! I had bought phonics pathways and reading pathways getting ready to teach my son to read. I’m still planning to use it but your introduction to reading reflex has made me reconsider my approach. I bought the book and read it all in two days. I love the idea of speech to print and I’m excited to get started.

Thank you for sharing. I was considering buying all about reading but I just couldnt justify the price.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. AAR is probably really great, but it's so expensive! These phonics primers have worked really well for us (I'm starting Reading Reflex with my son next week).

Ok I need to look more into reading reflex. I used teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons and then moved into all about reading level 1 but started in the middle. I was lucky enough to borrow it from another homeschool mom so cost wasn’t an issue. We are now about to go into level 3. I feel like we are wasting time because he’s such a strong reader but I still think it would be best to get through all 4 levels. Having said that though, I wish I had taken a different method just because most days feel like a waste of time.
Now we have my new 4 year old. He has recently expressed wanting to learn to read so I have phonics pathways and ordinary parents guide to teaching reading. I decided on trying out phonics pathways but this video has me intrigued on reading reflex. 🤔
Also curious how it’s going with your son. Are you still using it and is it working?

@brookeally1346 Reading Reflex is going really well! I think it's set up in a way that's really easy to scale for struggling or advanced learners. My son flew through the first half of the program. We slowed down a bit once we got to the vowel sorting activities. We have continued to use Reading Pathways to supplement (both of my kids love reading the pyramids). We don't do any of the writing in Reading Reflex, and I use the AAS letter tiles instead of photocopying the activities.

@@EclecticHomeschoolShelf awesome thank you! 🙏 I’m going to look deeper into it. My older guy is a straight to the point kind of kid and was evaluated. We found out through the evaluation he has an exceptionally high picture memory. So once he gets something it sticks and wants to move on.

Do you have a pdf with the coinciding Reading and Phonics pages?
