Just love it when someone builds anything Japanese. My absolute favorite plane is the Kawanishi flying boat ( Emily) damned hard but a great pleasure and looked awesome when I finally finished it.
A sport flyers dream craft. Gave everything for light weight offensive maneuvers. Very vulnerable to returning fire. A turning dog fight was its forte able to thrust vertical an bring another dimension to aerial combat. Two twenty mm cannon, two 7.7 mm machine gun. The later syncing with propeller. Essentially a gun platform boiled down to its most minimal structure with the ability to carry extra fuel or relatively light bombs.
Looks like a nice little kit! Excellent attention to detail, especially in 1/72. I really enjoy your newer videos, with text boxes, some of the best out there!
Un trabajo formidable, se aprecia la buena técnica y la habilidad conjunta donde se logra un acabado muy bien detallado. Gracias por compartirlo y un saludo desde Madrid,
Thank you for making such awesome videos. Very informative that you display every item you use and in what quantity. Thank you for the great work. You are very talented model maker. Peace from Sydney Australia

Very very nice work on a small scale Zero! Love it! The Model 22, I recently learned, was not the initial production version of the A6M-3 variant. (I have started to buy the Hasegawa 1/48 family which runs the whole gamut from the A6M-1 right through to the A6M-7..) The first A6M-3 was the Model 32 (Allied codename "Hamp" with the clipped, non-folding wingtips) But this - despite being faster than the A6M-2 with a greatly improved roll rate- was not popular at all with the pilots. The more powerful engine and clipped wings meant a great increase in fuel consumption and a reduced ceiling height (And there was no change to the Fuel capacity), which meant that the Model 32 was the Shortest ranged of ALL the Zeros, with almost a 2 hour endurance reduction! Complaints about this reached the Mitsubishi Factory very quickly and a decision was made to incorporate many of the changes proposed for the Next A6M-5 variant into the current A6M-3 with a new model number. This became the A6m-3 Model 22, which restored the folding wingtips and increased fuel Capacity with enlarged main and new secondary wing tanks. The Model number of 22 was chosen to deliberately associate this new variant with the A6M-2 Model 21, which was greatly liked by it's crews, and the Model 22 was also very popular, especially as it was the LONGEST ranged Zero Model of all! And, BTW it was far more common than the Model 32, only 400 odd Model 32's were built, but over a thousand Model 22s. (Info gained from the history section of the Haseqawa A6M-3 Model 22 kit's instruction booklet and confirmed by a little research into the Zero. Co-incidentally, this is also why Model 22 wrecks are often mistaken for A6M-5 Model 52 wrecks as many of the salient features are the same. You have to check the wreck's data plate (If it is present) against Mitsubishi and Nakajima records to find the production variant for that aircraft.
10:52 Somewhere i read that Aotake painted wheel wells are not found at A6M3 Zeros because they were all built by Mitsubishi which didn't use Aotake at that time. Tamiya did this wrong in the painting instructions.

I have a question about pressure. As I have watched, you use for paint(thinned in different ration) next rules: nozzle - 0.3mm, pressure - 15psi nozzle - 0.2mm, pressure - 20psi and for clear coats: nozzle - 0.3mm, pressure - 20psi Am I right? And what pressure will be good enough for 0.4mm? 10ps? Maybe you can recomend some table or curve? Do you use another pressure depending on paint to thinner ratio?
I've seen this type of tool before, my mother used them in sewing projects., what are they called? I bought a few of them they're all some what different the teeth are wider than some and tight on others.
Very nice build. What was the gizmo you used to cut out the circular masks for painting the national insignia? Was it obtained commercially or did you you rig something up yourself? I've never found one that could trace out circles of such small circumference, have always had to use a piece of razor blade at the end of a string. And my fingers are so fat n' clumsy that it always ends up taking two or three tries before I get it right. It'd be nice to find something that's easier to use.
Just wondering about zero models, the green paint from the leading edge of the wing is badly weathered! But there is not a mark on the yellow part of the leading edge of the wing?? Did they have some special paint or something for the yellow???
thanks. for the video. The zero is my favorite ww2 aircraft. Tamiyas 1/72 zero is a beautiful model and your artwork makes it even better. Did you used the cheap airbrush?
I have one question : very often you use cement on areas which are already colored. Is it not necessary to remove the paint for good results ? Or do you use a special cement ? Well, I paint my models with enamel colours and i have to remove the Paint where Parts have to be placed to get a strong bond. Is that not necessary when using acrylic colours ?
Looks awesome great job! I want to buy this set but I wanna' paint it white like "A6M2" I couldn't see at the box opening İs it also compatible with white color ?Or are there another decals for white? Thank you.
The colour of the Early Zeros was not white- it was a pale whitish-yellow grey, than often developed a somewhat light caramel tone from the Polishing and varnish applied to gain a couple of extra knots of Airspeed.
Он говорит, надул по привычке - проверить ошибки. Впрочем на этой модели я бы удивился, если бы такой опытный моделист накосячил в стыке крыла и фюзеляжа - там стыковка идеальная!
Old habits... It's the best way to see errors on the model. In this case there is extra metallic paint in the paint cup i used it for something else ;)
a question from an old modeler who is returning to the hobbie after a long time: why are today's modellers afraid to use glue? Is it too expensive these glues?
Just love it when someone builds anything Japanese. My absolute favorite plane is the Kawanishi flying boat ( Emily) damned hard but a great pleasure and looked awesome when I finally finished it.
Very good. Picked up a few tips from a master builder. Thanks.
Another great build. Your attention to the most minute detail is what makes your builds some of the finest there is on UA-cam.
Thanks
Green zero's look nicer. Change my mind.
Great video btw!

The zero is simply a stunning aircraft, you did it great justice sir.
Sehr schönes Modell, präzise Bauausführung!
Ich liebe die Zero.
Hello!
Wow... Hard to believe it's a 1:72nd!
Incredibly realistic.
Thank you Radu!
The fading effect is fantastic!

Nice & sweet. I love the aura of Japanese aircraft during this time period. Swell kit & good tosee that metallic blue in use. Thanks.

Superbe modele surtout au 1/72...Bravo

Excellent painting!!! My congrats!!!!
nice work , I love the A6M
Fantastic build
I think you are best... after me. Thanks for sharing!
Yea...he is awesome, but then there is that guy David Damek from PLASMO
i feel like they both have their own style, but davids zeros are very beautiful indeed worth checking out
They indeed are but in terms of Zeros I believe that Davids' are a bit inferior to this. David's late pieces are magnificent
Masterpiece!
Great Job. Well done.
Muy buen trabajo .felicitaciones..
From you can learn a lot and do better. Thank you
Amazing paint job like always ...!!!i will love see you fix my favor bird fw 190 f-8 ...!!
Nice job, beautiful plane!
thanks for sharing;excellent work!
Fantastic job! your videos edition are the best!

Good build/painting video.....though too many commercials.
Bill
PS: Glad you added a pilot figure....didn't see that painting or installation step?
Looks Awesome!👍👍

Outstanding!
Stunning
Beautiful done! And thanks for info about quick Tamiya glue. I must test it, as well as Tamiya's Zero. ;) Congratulations! ;)
So pretty nice 1/72 scale :)
BELLISSIMO LAVORO!!!!
For me is ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING when i see all this from Scale-a-ton on UA-cam
How much time you spent for this ?
Muita paciência, mas ficou lindo.
Great build! Looks like you forgot the 20 mm cannons barrels though :)
Some Model 22s still used the older short barrel 20mms... I believe Nishizawa's was one.
Masterful!
great work ... next B7A2 ... :) pls I love Japan planes.
E7K1, KI-51 Sonia, Ki-46 and Ki-84 on the build list ;)
hmm Hayate is awesome .. do it :D
西沢広義の零戦 Good job
Brilliant work, the new tooled 1/72 warbirds series from Tamiya are great, aren't they?
Thank you! Yes they are!

extraordinario modelo e tecnica
Excellent
awesome video!
but one question:
may i ask why you painted Polish aluminum on the surface when you are going to paint the whole model in grey anyway?
Awesome. Subscribed
Hello. I have to ask. Do you sometimes use the colors so heavily diluted? 95% alcohol and only 5% color? I don't have an airbrush. best regards.
I've seen this type of tool before, my mother used them in sewing projects., what are they called? I bought a few of them they're all some what different the teeth are wider than some and tight on others.
Where's antenna ;)? ... Also perfect, super.😁
Not all zeros carried a radio - it was extra weight. It only became standard fit for the next model A6M-5 Model 52....
Good music

Very NICE, what color did you use for the Engine Gearbox???
awsome

I love your painting techniques. I can't wait to try it. Any tips? Thanks and great Job!
Thank you! I shared all tips on my videos, i don't hide anything. You can try same what i did.
Nice video, can you tell me what brand of brushes you use?
Great builds! Can you list the paints you used?
零式艦上戦闘機22型 ( ゚Д゚)Good job!!
Hi, what exact brand of water color pencil to use? Thank you! Best model build video just about ever. Well presented.
Thank you! It's Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer Artists' Watercolour Pencil - Silver-251
Where did you manage to find rivet blueprints for this? I can't seem to find any good quality ones
thanks. for the video. The zero is my favorite ww2 aircraft. Tamiyas 1/72 zero is a beautiful model and your artwork makes it even better. Did you used the cheap airbrush?
Thank you very much! No, this time i used my lovely H&S Evolution CRplus for mottling and painting IJN Green.
Which airbrush you use? Your work is best..
Thank you! On this video; i used H&S Evolution CRplus (fancy one) and cheap Iwata clones.
Good job ... Where can I find your music ?
I have one question : very often you use cement on areas which are already colored. Is it not necessary to remove the paint for good results ? Or do you use a special cement ? Well, I paint my models with enamel colours and i have to remove the Paint where Parts have to be placed to get a strong bond. Is that not necessary when using acrylic colours ?
It's MEK in the Tamiya Bottle. It's welding plastic parts together painted or not painted. Need some experience with painted parts though.
Looks awesome great job!
I want to buy this set but I wanna' paint it white like "A6M2"
I couldn't see at the box opening
İs it also compatible with white color ?Or are there another decals for white?
Thank you.
The colour of the Early Zeros was not white- it was a pale whitish-yellow grey, than often developed a somewhat light caramel tone from the Polishing and varnish applied to gain a couple of extra knots of Airspeed.
Why did you not rivet the body as you did the wings? And the paint job is one that i haver never seen on a Zero.
There's a famous photo of Nishizawa's Zero in flight, leading his group in 1943. Easy to find with a google image search.
Regarding the cockpit wash... you are applying the Tamiya Panel Line to the flat acrylic paint?
Yes you can use it on completely dried paint like that. If you do not wipe it ofc.
why did you paint the wings with alclad first?
Old habits... It's the best way to see errors on the model. In this case there is extra metallic paint in the paint cup i used it for something else ;)
