    Stunning, simply stunning model. I'm in awe of how you riveted and free hand camouflaged on a 1/72 natural metal finish. BRAVO! Always a pleasure to watch your process and learn. THANK YOU!

    Amazing Build but this is exactly what I expected from your Channel. Very detailed explanation of the process and especially the overlayed instruction steps. Simply amazing. In my opinion the best Aircraft Modelling Channel on here. Thanks you.

    So glad you have another video up. I feel your simply the best out there and am always in awe. But also sad because I realize I suck at it. I finishing my first model in about 15 years and all the new products and techniques are a little overwhelming. Gotten to be a very expensive hobby. I know I just have to keep building and things will get better and easier, but any words of wisdom or hope will be greatly appreciated. Especially on what kits I should choose because of the expense. Thank you!

    • @Scaleaton
      @Scaleaton  6 років тому

      Thank you very much! Which kits are the best for their prices is depends where you live. Old Korean molded Revell kits are the best of the best in my opinion. (1/72 Tornado, F-4F Phantom, 1/48 F-15E etc) Also Italeri boxed old Accurate Miniatures kits. They are like little gems (SBD 5, B-25 in 1/48 Scale) Also the new ICM kits are brilliant for their prices.

      @@Scaleaton Thank you very much sir! Greatly appreciate that. I will look for them. Side note, I am from the U.S. I believe you are from the U.K.(If not I apologize) But in any case I want to personally apologize for the behavior of my county the last almost two years! HAha, and thank you very much! Looking forward to more videos!

    I know this is an old video, but I would love to hear more detail about your technique for fine detail airbrushing. Every time I try it, with a H&S 0.15 nozzle, I end up with tip dry very quickly with predictable poor results. If the tip isn’t dry, the paint is running. I can’t find that happy medium. Generally, I go from very runny paint, get a couple good lines, and the the tip is dry. All this in about a minute. I do use the trigger set feature on the H&S to prevent me from putting too much paint. I’d like to hear advice from anyone who has had success as shown in this video. Great work by the way!

    • @Scaleaton
      @Scaleaton  3 роки тому

      Hi, painting mottles with any H&S airbrush like in the video is not possible. H&S airbrushes has very smooth lines which is not good to painting hard camo lines or mottles like in the video. I recommend GSI Creos airbrushes with extra air flow controller versions like PS 270, PS770, PS771. Use the extra air flow controller on the airbrush till you get perfect lines. H&S neddle size and nozzle tech not allow that. Of course these are my experiences and opinions. I love my H&S airbrushes and they unrivaled in smooth post shade weathering.

    If you don't mind , i don't understand how you can airbrush the green camo. I try to replicate exactly your advices, but i obtain just a wonderful spider-cobb effect. Even at 5psi, the result is the same. I don't have a GSI airbrush , but my H&S is also pretty good. For decalling, you almost polished the aiplane surface. The same surface is used for airbrushing the camo ? Anyway, you are a truly artist . Thank you , cheers !

  • @cesarignjas
    @cesarignjas 6 років тому

    Fantastic build! I have to put this one in my wish list now! I am afraid to use extra thin cement on the canopy with masks on it, extra thin can sneak under the mask and cause some damage to the transparency, I prefer to mask it on the plane, or use PVA glue, Vallejo plastic putty can be used to fill some gaps around the glass, it can easily be cleaned off with airbrush cleaner before it is completely cured so you don´t loose surface details.

    • @Scaleaton
      @Scaleaton  6 років тому

      Thank you! Definitely I agree with you. If you do not have enough experience using thin cements, this is very risky. Btw it's MEK not Tamiya extra thin which is more safer for canopy.

    Hi Rahmi,
    As usual great video, thanks!
    Can I ask you about mixing the Tamiya acylics? As I see you dilute matt paints with isopropyl alcohol. Would you refine please if you use pure IPA or some kind of a thinner based on IPA?

    So the 1:72nd madness goes on. :-)
    Nice sister for the Zero!

    Wonderful molds and Decals but the price is a joke for what you get :D Tamiya should make it half the price and that would still be top priced. Take a look at Airfixs new molds. you get a new tool spitfire for under9 euro. Looks stunning and up to date. Tamiya wants 50 euro for this kit which is eual in quality. sad. still interesting that this concept seems to work since tamiya is not bankrupt yet. or is it? Cheers

    • @Scaleaton
      @Scaleaton  6 років тому +1

      Thanks for the comment. I aggree with you the most of the new kits are quite expensive. Btw this one is 18.70 euro on Hannants.
