5 years later this is still the best 1/72 Zero on youtube!
Thanks mate 👍
Been modeling for 40+ years...still learn something new everytime I watch another modeler build...great job!
Cool, thanks!
Hard to believe that it's a 1:72 model! Your detail and weathering technique is incredible.
Thanks mate 👍
Very nice build. Man that is an impressive amount of cockpit detail for 1/72! Thank you Tamiya!
Thanks 👍. Indeed this is an awesome kit.
I have viewed other build videos, and I must say that your technique of black basing, then marbling and colorization works very well. I'm looking forward to using it on my next build.
Brilliant. Marvelous craftsmanship. Kudos and thanks for your presentation. Your patience and attention to detail make you a role model.
Thank you for your kind words!
Отличная работа!А идея с ремнями-вообще очень интересная.
Pure artistry! Great build, painting and weathering.....subtle techniques creating such impact. A must watch for any beginner, mediocre or experienced modeller. Will definitely check out other builds on your channel.
Thanks Robert 🍻👍
Great build and nice paintwork. I've built the Tamiya 72nd A6M3 and it was a pleasure to build as well. It's hard to beat Tamiyas great engineering and detail.
Sorry to respond so late, I get lost in the comments. Absolutely fabulous engineering, detail wise they are a bit behind eduard's latest releases but I guess not because they can't but because that's their philosophy.
No worries M8! I know how it is. You sometimes spend more time replying to comments than modelling. :D
Great build, beautiful results.
Thanks mate 👍 🍻
Nicely done.....a very good job everywhere! I only wish there were a few pictures of the finished model. It's one of the best 1/72 Zeros that I have seen.
Thanks mate, I'll put a gallery and a link to it. I barely managed to upload the video on schedule and didn't have time to upload the pictures. Cheers
Great Job! I think a few people nit-picking are forgetting how small it really is! I'd love to get that finish on 1/48!
Thanks mate 🍻👍
It is great , i understand all what you say.....we speak the same english . Very good work
Beautifully built
Thank You!
Hi! I’m building the Airfix 1:72 Zero right now and this build has given me a few great ideas! I was just wondering what country you are from?
Nice work.
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice job... the kit turned out very nice. I bult that kit last year and it is the kit that showed me that 1/72 is a scale I can do from time to time. The assembly goes great because everything fits so well.
Thanks Brett, it's so much better when the kit is that good. Have to keep myself away from tamiya because I may get addicted 😁
You do beautiful work! I love how your Zero turned out, it looks like the real thing. Your video has given me lots of new ideas to try for my modeling, thank you!
Thanks mate, appreciate your comment and I am happy to know that you can pick up some ideas from it.
Very good job! Really awesome.
Thanks mate 👍
Excellent video. I have just ordered the kit.
Thanks mate, have fun 👍
Very nice build! It's interesting how you added rivets after you built the main parts.
Sometimes it is possible... depends on the shapes.
Great job on the weathering! I love Tamiya's Zeros. I built this same option once.
Thanks mate 🍻👍
16:23 The engine cowling is actually very dark blue, not black. In most pictures it does not show very well, but some pictures show clearly a dark blue cowling.
The end result is absolutely great ! Hard to tell this is a 1:72 scale model !
Well done.
Thanks, it's definitely quite hard to see in there in this scale but it is good to know in case I do larger one.
The Mitsubish planes had very dark blue cowlings, the Nakajima were dark grey.
Dark grey....... I had a suspicion. I was sure about the dark blue but not about the dark grey.....!
Thank you for telling us.
@@miguelangelor No, they were not dark blue. IJNAF standard for cowlings (and other areas) was Q1 which required 1 part ultramarine and 4 part lamp black pigments so very dark bluish black. Nakajima procured their pigments at different suppliers resulting in grayish black look of the cowling, black nevertheless.
@@marianholly863 Yes, very dark blue, almost black.
Great model. Well done again.
Thanks mate 👍🍻
Great job! True inspiration - thanks
Thanks Antoni, comments like yours are inspiration for me.
I am building this now, but all I can say is "bravo!"
l was feeling confident about my skills right up till he started working on the outside of the plane. Beautiful work, light years beyond my skills.
All it takes is practice and not being afraid to screw things up when experimenting
Super build and tutorial. Thanks!
Thanks mate, appreciated.
just found your channel! you did a great job on this zero!
Thanks mate 👍
⭐️Very nice build⭐️......great technique....well filmed...next time more finished shots please 😉👍
Thanks mate, the gallery is coming today. I'll post a link in the video description. next time i'll make sure both to be ready at the same time :)
Excellent 👍 Keep up the great work !
Superb build....well done!
Thanks mate!
nice build really beautiful.
Thanks mate 👍🍻
Nice result
Thanks!
Outstanding as always. Built one myself. The details are amazing for scale and price. Good idea about the seatbelts. I used the grey primer . Good reminder about minimum weathering for early zeros. Did have an issue with windscreen discoloring using XtraThin. Corsair will make an excellent compliment. Hint😁
Thanks Kevin, love such kits... just awesome :)
Excelente la maqueta!!! Muy buenas tus técnicas de pintura!!!!
Thanks mate 👍🍻
learn allot from you thanks verry nice build
Thanks mate 👍🍻
That looks so good!!!!
Thanks mate!
Hello, thanks for the informative video. I admire your steady hands while using the riveting tool without any tape guides. I too have two riveters but can't use them freehand w/o using dymo tapes. Also, I use GSI Creos Mr Color C125 (Cowling Color) for the Zero's cowling. Will watch more of your build videos 👍
Thanks for the tip mate!
Very nice little model.very detailed. Great work dude. But yes the subliminal messages are a little annoying
Thanks Juan 🍻👍
Just fantastic skills
Thanks mate 👍
Strong like Friend !
Thanks mate 👍
Очередная отлична модель. Очень нравятся ваши ролики -много интересного и полезного беру себе. Про зубные щётки можно по подробнее? Очень хорошо убирают смывку из труднодоступных мест.
Thanks, yes the micro brushes are very useful. You can find them easily online. They are used in the dental clinics too
Wonderful job!!!!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
🇧🇷
Thanks mate
Excelent build my friend. Your skills are impressive ! A few glitches, if i may : the wheels legs are black not silver, cowling and rear canopy deck are blue-black (50-50 blue/black), the rear part of the propeller must be red-brown, not black. The red-brown in fact is not a paint, is a primer, a very durable one, all airframe of the Zero-es was primed în this red-brown like primer, till the end of '43. I like the way you done the "chipping", early Zero-es was well maintained and cleaned. The Hinomaru also was well maintained, for the japanese a chipped or dirty Hinomaru emblem was considered an insult to the Emperor...Good job my friend, stai healty !!
Thanks mate, I am no expert on the zero and I followed the instructions 😀
@@MMScaleModels I'm not an expert either, that's why at eachmodel I document myself in as much detail as I can.Happy modelling mate !!
nice job 👍👍👍👍
Thanks mate 👍
Great work
Thanks mate 🍻👍
Nice work! But I like 1/48 scale more)))
Thanks, me too but 1/72 is faster to put together...
Great work and video build but please reduce the number of subscribe reminders. Too many.
Very nice good job !!!
Thanks mate!
Very cool!
Thanks mate 👍🍻
Se agradecería un poco mas de tiempo para ver el modelo terminado. Felicidades.
Gracias, haga clic en el banner emergente en la esquina superior derecha, hay una galería del modelo terminado.
Nice !
Thanks 😊
Nice build again. I picked up a few (for me) new techniques. One note, I have to agree with Appiann - the not so subliminal 'subscribe' is a bit annoying.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks mate!
Unfortunately the channel is on decline and I have to do some experiments to try to reverse the trend. Some will work others won't 🙂
Bravo 👏🏻
Thanks mate 👍🍻
I just ordered this kit. I hope to approach the quality build of your great example but I won't.
Of course you will. Have fun 👍
Beautiful job. I was already a subscriber and the constant subscription reminder is quite annoying. I get it, but it should be toned down a bit. 2 or 3 would be plenty
Thanks mate, appreciate the feedback.
That zero is really great. However, just for accuracy, Japanese planes on PH are shiny brand new. I believe theres barely a chipping. Also theres no leading wire to the fuselage for the aerial antenna. Just from the stab to the mast .Still great and I know its fun.
Thank you for the feedback and info mate!
very nice zero man, the fabric surfaces were painted in a different grey tone than the rest of the aircraft, you can check it in the historical references pictures, cheers
Thanks mate, I read this but it seems very slight difference.
@@MMScaleModels 14 August has come and went when when Pakistan got independence from UK so why do not you do something special and make a Hawker Tempest Mk 2 which was the first fighter of the country.
Love from Pakistan.
Sadly I don't have a Tempest in my stash.
@@MMScaleModels its okay man.
This is awesome!
Thanks mate 👍🍻
may i ask what size the rivet wheel u are using in this 1:72 model? thanks!
MM......... I just subscribed !! ;-)
You are a great modeler and you make great videos !!
Thanks mate, appreciated.
Sorry, but dislike. I's very hard to watch: too many "subscribe" and so on. Model is good.
Agreed. Great video, otherwise.
I use mig and tamiya panel liners, what kind of clear coat do i need so it protects the paint? Do i need a laquer or han i just use the tamiya x-35 / AK RC502?
Acrylic ...
I use both acrylic and laquers.. haven't had issues
I'm just starting with scale modeling (assembled only 4 kits so far) and I'm wondering what's the best manufacturer today parts-fit wise.
I had rather good xp with Revell's corsair 1/72 model and rather bad with Italeri's cessna 1/72. What's your experience?
Tamiya, eduard and some academy kits are the best in this area but if I have to pick one brand it will be Tamiya. Especially their newer kits
I like your paint overall, but the rivets could have been sanded down. It makes it harder for the decals to seat and looses the effect they add. Because the rivet tool pushes the material away, you get that distortion
Thanks mate, appreciate your feedback.
Hello! I have question. What colour You used to paint wheel rim? In oryginal Photos of plane I saw warious variants. Gray green, aluminium, black and do on. I 'm wainting for your answer. Best regards.
They are silver, I guess that is what the instructions suggested. It was some time ago si i don't remember:)
@@MMScaleModels instruction suggest aluminium or black. It depends of what firm make the model. In original Photo I saw also grey green IJN (in original musem zero plane).
Well I try not to dig that deep. Sometimes it can make building models pretty hard.
Awesome build, loved it! What did you use for the radio wire towards the end? Looks as thin as hair? Couldn’t quite catch what you said the product was called...
Thanks mate, this is rigging line, some sort of lycra thread.
hi @MM, would you mind sharing the PSI, paint to thinner ratio when you do the marbling and and smoke effect? thanks! big fun of your works!!!
That's a tough one. I am not really depending on set ratios and pressures. However I have a starting point, for the marbling 1 bar and 50/50 paint to thinner, for the smoke it is a drop of paint into a 2-3mil of thinner and 1 bar or less pressure. From there I adjust the ratio (rarely the air pressure but can happen). Check my tutorial on exhaust and heat stains: ua-cam.com/video/lmwONjX43C4/v-deo.html
MM Scale Models thanks mate!!! really helpful... please continue sharing your passion..
You are welcome!
Hi. What is Base+ white? A thin white color?
Hi, this is the base color mixed with white paint.
Great build - terrible video with all those "subscribe" notices flashing up. Way too many, either get rid of them or do one at start and end.
Nice build. What brushes were you referring to at 7:39? Thanks
Those are dental brushes, some refer to them as microbrushes. Here is a link: amzn.to/3EdnngX
Fantastic...thanks for this
Thanks mate 👍
The build is just like the 1/48 version.
Probably Tamiya downsizes it's kits as anyone else... CAD is very handy tool 😁
I builded the same model but no matter how much I tried to do tin coats ( primer, paint and varnish) i filled the panel lines. And this happens with almost every model i built. Can you give me some tips?
what is your nozzle size?
@MMScaleModels 0.5mm. I'm spraying primer and varnish with spray can.(Primer from AK and varnish from Mr.hobby)
Well, here is your issue. On aircraft, I use 0.2 or 0.3 at most. 0.5 is like a fire hose compared to 0.2
@@MMScaleModels Thank you! I will look to buy a new 0.2 or 0.3 nozzle.
@@markdeyanov5092 i can get you a small discount from gaahleri if you are interested in one of their airbrushes
かっこいい
Thanks mate
Good video and nice build, BUT... To be confronted with the model’s box and a large ‘SUBSCRIBE’ banner so frequently is frankly bloody annoying
Thanks, I appreciate your feedback.
If there wasn't so many subscribe popups I would have........
👏👏👏👏👍
🙂
Too many "subscribe" 😡 but beautiful modèl👍
Thanks and I appreciate your feedback
Nice video. I learned a lot from your process. Not sure if you are aware, but the link for the "Inexpensive airbrushes" in the description brings us to your eBay profile page, not a listing of airbrushes.
Thanks Dan. I have to remove the link as I no longer offer those airbrushes.
1/72 🤦♂️😢😢😢😢👍👍👍👍
MM : It's hard to tell in this picture, but it's gloss dark blue :
www.sarahsundin.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/PH-PAM-Zero-e1559624555499.jpg
Dark gloss blue :
hiveminer.com/Tags/a6m%2Cmuseum
Disclaimer : I am not saying ALL Zeros had dark blue engine cowlings, nor were they all gloss. Some were indeed fully black and some were semi-gloss. But if my info is correct, these were exceptions. If anybody out there has more info, please share it with us.
And yes...... most pictures of Zeros we see on the net were taken recently. Often in museums. And museums make mistakes when painting an airplane. However, color photography did exist in WW2 and Zeros were photographed in color............ Just saying.
Oh....MM..... In every scale will dark blue be dark blue.
And watching you handle that airbrush.... The finished model..... Man....you are an inspiration. I really mean that !
Good video but really annoying subscribe message...
Hey Metodi, is everything okay? I miss your submission for the first friday of the month. I hope you're doing well and if you need a break from it all, take your time. Better to not post than to have a burn-out.
Thanks for asking mate, I decided to tweak the schedule for Saturday evening but couldn't manage to do the video so a 24h delay unfortunately. Cheers 🍻
@@MMScaleModels No worries, stay healthy!
Thanks, you can check the community tab on the channel page, I post changes and such information there.

VERY nice build !!! But do drop the needy "subscribe" every 10 seconds ? It's really annoying...

I have to say it's really irritating to see how easy you make that look.

No Taras here.
Привет как мои доски?
what do you mean?
Really nice video, nice build, but the subscribe begging is just too annoying. Sorry i like your videos but no subscribe from me.
Appreciate your feedback mate
YOUR video went from interesting to ANNOYING because of all the subscribe begging....Ergo, no sub by me. But I fought through it until the end... Whew!!!!
So if it was saying.... banana instead of subscribe it would be ok?
Why are they making these wonderful models at 1:72? Tamiya seems to be adverse to 1:32 and even 1;25. It seems such a waste to put so much craft into this model and your left with a children's toy.
There is something for everyone I gues. I personally enjoy 1/72, they look like jewelry if done properly.
Weathering is unrealistic, overdone. Areas under canopy were painted black, wheel wells were painted in the same overall color, no search (not saying research on purpose, that was done many years ago) went into this at all.
Thanks for the enlightenment 😉
Wow, he puts tremendous effort into producing this video and produces a great model, but all you have to say about it is negative comments. You really are a nasty piece of work
His1ojd...you are so right, what an idiot...
hey cool down! nobody and nothing is perfect and he doesn't have to research!
oh stop it! thats mean!
