100/100 points for using 0 clickbait, i watched the whole video even when i already knew the concept, i would like to add that you could have also pointed the bambu miscalculation in the title directly too and i believe it would have brought even more interest from people who either love or hate bambu and it would still have been 0 clickbait, also talking about print time on the title would have made it even more appealing, and i would have clicked even faster.
Great advice on how to save filament with multi color 3D printing. It's not always intuitive to new users who are evaluating these systems. Bambu Labs definitely needs to update their slicer readout regarding filament usage.
So far I don't own a 3D printer I'm using a 3D Pen to make my models, however can't a 3d printer with some software create a separate model with just the waste filament at the same time it building a multicoloured object ? If it can then no real waste is made. 😅
@@BV3D You're right of course. The XL is very pricey but filament isn't all that cheap over time. I just don't think I could stand to look at all that wasted material knowing that I have no viable way to turn it back into usable filament.

What about a purge tower? Do you need both with this system? I've seen some Bambu videos that seem to have the waste you have and a prime tower?
could slicers update to try and smartly use ‘transition’ filament eg in infill?

I've done the same thing with my Sovol SV02 for a while now, even though it has a purge tower that eats up a bit of bed real estate and not a💩🗑.

Prusa has it right with multi print heads. It is what it is.
I agree 100%. The five toolhead XL is a bit pricey though, but you really can't beat tool changers for minimizing purge waste.
